  1. I think a k2222 AR job is tops and this watch is deserving of a high quality AR coating so I sent it off to Poland already. I took this quick picture of it before it left. I cant wait till it comes back! edit: I dont have my white balance set on my camera so the Red looks Orange in my photo. It is the correct Red color.
  2. It appears to be the same one.
  3. Bravo Pugwash! I wanted to look more seriously at this replica, thanks for reviewing this.
  4. You are really looking at it the wrong way, I love this strap! I dont have to wear it slightly too loose or slightly too tight. I can get it to the point that is perfect for me! I was a little nervous at first but just cut off a little at a time from each side until it felt right. To answer the initial question, I wear mine with a little movement on the top of my wrist, just to the point where it will slide side to side if slightly nudged by myself... maybe about 1 to 1.5 cm.
  5. You have some really nice watches here spooky. Nice props, an artistic rating given by me.
  6. Fantastic Job! That is a really nice shot. I wish I was better with photoshop so I could do these kinds of things.
  7. Dont buy the FB-1201 found here http://www.ofrei.com/page238.html I'm not happy with them. As someone else said, the blade quality has dropped.
  8. that rotor spins around and around which winds it. I take them in my hand and use a flick of the wrist motion while I'm watching TV. You will be surprised how much it winds it after 15 minutes or so. If you have done this and wore it a while, and it still stops after 45 minutes, you probably have a problem, the rotor may not be attached like it should... but I think you are fine... enjoy your new watch!
  9. You have an automatic watch. What he is wanting you to do is turn it about 20 times and then , wear it around.. as long as you are moving it will continue to wind itself. If you are taking it off after winding a little bit, you have not built up enough power reserve and thus it will stop working after 3/4 hour. After you wear it all day, and then the next day, you will have it fully wound probably and then it will last for 36-45 hours without the chrono functions engaged, if left sitting.
  10. I am very near the Canadian boarder near Detroit. If there was a very trustworthy member who could meet just inside the US or me just inside Canada, I would gladly do a hand-off. edit: In fact, we are planning a southern Michigan GTG March 1st or 2nd about 40 miles inside Michigan. Maybe there is a Canadian member who would like to join us and could pick it up as well.
  11. I see a lot of "My Asian SFSO broke" and people wanting to know about an alternative movement. There are quite a few threads scattered about that discuss this. Basically the answer is yes, there are other movements available for your sfso. First and foremost, try the Miyota 8215 cost around $40. Another option is the ETA 2836-2. This option will cost you a lot more money but it will work. The ETA 2824-2 will not work as the case is different on the Asian movement SFSO than the Swiss version (which has the 2824-2 movement). When swapping out movements dont forget to check your hand sizes. Here is the Miyota 8215 spec sheet for download. Your adobe acrobat will probably ask to update the Japanese language pack before it will open it up (the words translate to english). You can find more Miyota movement data here: http://www.citizen.co.jp/miyota_mvt/download/index.html I just pieced this stuff together today after doing some research, please let me know if I have something wrong so I can make corrections. spec_6T51_8205_8215_821A.pdf
  12. I just ordered the first one from TWP.. He has been watching for one for me for a long time. I got the email yesterday and told him to buy it sight unseen and I'll review it for quality. He might shoot me for mentioning it because I dont see that he has them advertised (probably because I will have one before he even lays eyes on it cuz he is having it shipped directly to me) I'm kind of excited to be the first to review it
  13. Monday: Tuesday:
  14. I dont know about 1 on 1 but I know that I have dreamed about 2 on 1 since I was a wee little boy. :cloud9:
  15. Going with this one today
  16. Ok, I want to confirm, the rear sapphire crystal DOES have single sided AR Coating. I removed the case back, greased the gasket and it was obvious.... an AR coating.
  17. I tried the Swordfish on at an AD and it is a great watch! If I had the extra to throw at a gen I would in a heartbeat. I cant wait to get a replica of it if it is decent quality.
  18. Quick wrist shot of my most recent addition.
  19. LOL,, see what I'm talking about... lol.. roflmao, I must confess, I just posted a review of this watch moments ago... ohh the irony!
  20. The Watch: Porsche Design Flat-6 Chrono, Black Dial with White Sub-Dials. The Movement: Asian 7750 28,800bph movement with working chronograph. The Dealer: TWP (The Watch Prince, watchgroup.net) The Cost: $325 plus shipping What a replica! What a replica! What a watch! I now serve notice to all replica collectors who think that you cannot find quality outside of the Rolex, Omega, Breitling, IWC brands. YES YOU CAN! If you are wanting to add a sporty watch to your collection and you are all Omega'd out, you may love the Porsche Design Flat-6 chrono. This watch wears like a 42-43mm watch, it is comfortable to wear as you dont have the annoying chrono buttons poking into your wrist. This watch sports an Asian 7750 28,800bph movement, a sapphire crystal with single very light AR coating and I swear...it has the same light AR coating on the rear sapphire crystal ( I could not capture it on camera). As previously mentioned it has recessed chrono buttons at the 2 & 4 positions, a dust repellent rubber strap with a double deployant clasp. The case construction seems strong and high quality and I plant to take apart this watch to see how the chronos recess into the case to determine how waterproof friendly this watch will be. The bezel is polished on the side and brushed stainless steel on top with Tachymeter digits around the entire bezel, each number and mark is filed with black paint. The case is brushed stainless steel with polished stainless steel between each "fin" (as it's designed to look like the fins on a Porsche car). It has a screwdown crown with threads exposed for easy lubrication, the crown has "P' " in the correct font and is brushed stainless stell. The caseback is a display caseback and is held in place by six flat head screws. The detailed engraving on the caseback is as follows: At the "4" position "120M WATER RESISTANT" , at the "7" " 180 ' 1576", at the "9" "Porsche Design P ' 6340" , at the "11" "SWISS MADE" , at the "1" "M41 STAINLESS STEEL". The rotor is perforated to resemble a Porsche automobile rim and is engraved with "Porsche Design" filed in with black paint. The rubber strap has "PORSCHE DESIGN" engraved on the bottom strap on the right/top of the strap. The inside of the strap is textured like an automobile tire with the outside being a flat matte look. This is a "cut down" strap meaning that you will have to cut down the strap on each side in order to center the deployant on the bottom of your wrist. The double deployant clasp has an engraved " P ' " one on each clasp, in opposite corners. It is polished on the sides of the clasp and on two boarders of the clasp, the middle being brushed stainless steel. From what I can tell, this Porsche Design Flat-6 Chrono has all of the correct markings, correct spellings and the factory finally got it right on a watch and perfectly recreated the font on the dial as well as the date wheel!! I mentioned that the size of this watch is a 43mm or 44mm but feels slightly smaller than my Panerai 111H and is very similar to that of the Cousteau Diver 2006. Below is a comparison of the IWC Cousteau Diver 2006 and the Porsche Design Flat-6 Chrono. I hope you enjoyed my review of the Porsche Design Flat-6 Chronograph. edit: Added wrist shot below.
  21. Before it goes too far off track I want to point out.. My concern is more the length of time that a watch stays at a high price.... rather than how expensive it initally is. With that said... I must agree.... It's all By-Tor's fault! lol This was a topical rant where I point out that we pick our poison watch after watch... glutens for punishment where we make our own crust and love to eat it too.
  22. They screwed up the colors really bad... the replicated cappuccino is pretty nasty imo.
  23. This topic defies a portion of the purpose of these forums. It is something that I have pondered from time to time and tried to gauge but have not been able too. As we go on and on oohing and ahhing over the just released replica that showed up in a trader section or website I have to ask myself how it affects pricing. My guess, probably not at first... but then comes the Reviews by membership. So someone does a write up on an Omega from Trusty or a Patek from Angus and the comments pour in... "I want one of those" "I'm in love with this watch" "I think it is the best replica this year!" etc.. It gets bumped by the occasional noob or late buyer of the watch and it starts again... runs for a day or two, the free advertising for one or all traders that is. So am I speaking out against the reviews and the write ups and the By-Tor's guide to best Omega replicas etc... NO, I think it is a necessary part of this hobby and forum........... .... BUT I DO THINK IT KEEPS THE PRICES HIGHER .... AND FOR LONGER. The good news is that everyone knows which replicas to buy.... the bad news is that there is no need to decrease price to move a larger surplus of stock. I could be way off base with this... I've been wrong before... but this is my thought for the month (It hurts to have two!)
  24. LOL, I just posted this reference http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=65756
