  1. Nice pics of a beautiful watch. Well worth keeping!
  2. Thanks everyone for your comments. Although the 1005 is the cleanest, I agree with alligoat, and the 1002 is on my wrist as I type
  3. Three brothers, all nearing 46 years old, yet still classic cornerstones of Rolex. Certainly small by today's standards, the 34mm Oyster Perpetual takes some getting used to after wearing any of the larger modern watches. In my humble opinion, these pieces are still just as classy as they were brand new in the dealers case so many years ago. All of these watches have the famed 1560 movement, which is itself a testament of good engineering since they have lasted so long, still working as good as new. JJ
  4. Holy crap, now over ten grand USD! These people are out of their friggin minds!
  5. Lots of '06 guys here. I was on the original RWG as a newb, where I can remember a member with an avatar of a naked girl with a bicycle handlebar on her back was very helpful.... Since then it was Josh's reps to frankens to all gens
  6. I agree freddy. It's pathetically, incredibly fake. I'm sure a close-up would easily call out the bezel insert too. Scam artist like this should be thrown in jail,. A member here even thinks it's a gen dial!!! (not!)
  7. Maybe the Spin guy won't feel so bad now http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-ROLEX-6263-DAYTONA-18K-CHRONOGRAPH-WITH-BOX-727_W0QQitemZ270457180464QQcategoryZ111652QQcmdZViewItem
  8. The watch looks fine to me. All should keep in mind that any fake dial will be called out in an instant from someone who knows rolex. The watch is a rep, a fake, whatever you prefer to call it, but it certainly is a decent one for less than 1k. For those who go on to the next step, buy a gen dial (at about 3 to 4k), or invest in a gen daytona @ 30k
  9. Good luck with your sub and welcome aboard.
  10. Here's a great link that explains the origins of luminous additives. ...if only they would bring back radium ! http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=31836
  11. The 14060's up to 1998 would be Tritium

    Replica Noob

Welcome aboard Oren. Don't forget that a rep is still a rep, no matter how good you try to make it. In other words, it is still a FAKE. On the other hand, this is a great hobby, and a fun place to learn more about watches, no matter which brand you choose. You'll also have the opportunity to meet some of the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable rolex collectors. As far as the gold rolexes go, I would only recommend buying the best, and then perhaps modifying the insert/pearl, and maybe the crown/tube. In all honesty though, you're better off saving your money and buying a gen.
  13. Nice pics Hike! I'll join in, here's some 6263 love:

    1675 love

Thanks toomuchgear! Notice anything else? Ps: I love the patina on your 16750, wow, beautiful dial!
  16. It took me years to warm up to this model, but I finally gave in
  17. Some 7206's are expansion bracelets (like the one that came on my pcg 5513), although most are not.
  18. More like stupidity. He was called out within eight minutes
  19. Hi Lani, Wm9's are nice, and a fun base for a project. Here's a close up pic of my tt. This particular head has a gen dial, gen crown and tube, gen crystal, gen insert, gen pearl, and gen 18k gold bezel. All together it makes a great wearable watch:
  20. Beautiful job! I've got a gen insert and dial if you might consider upgrading
  21. Sounds like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing
  22. The fake 6541 is back on the 'bay. That watch is so poor, the only thing it could possibly be good for is the movement
  23. Mine was XRT's, which I had bought from him. I improved by modding but have since sold it.
