  1. This is what I use for travel (click pic for link)
  2. Bond again
  3. Have you priced gold lately? How much actual gold do you think you are going to get on a $300 or $400 rep?
  4. Wow, this is the 1st time I have heard of complaints about ladies' Rolexes. I have given 2 of them as gifts myself (both vintage models that I overhauled 1st) & neither owner has voiced a single complaint in the past 2-3 years.
  5. Properly serviced, neither movement is better than the other. But a gen movement will do 2 things an ETA cannot do - 1. It will increase the watch's resale value & 2. It will give the wearer (your wife) the confidence to walk into any AD with impunity, which, to most women, would be worth the additional price alone. Also, at some point, like most of us, you will regret damaging a gen dial (to fit the ETA) instead of going all-gen, which will ultimately cost you more when you end up buying the wife a gen.
  6. I like it.
  7. Considering who it is for & where the watch is now (ie, how much you have already spent on a franken), why not go all the way & complete it with a gen dial & movement?
  8. Already nice, but it will be a killer with the proper crown. Now if 1 of the after-marketeers would just produce some accurate ETA Mercedes handsets.
  9. This video has been discussed a number of times (here & on gen sites) & worth viewing.
  10. Please do not re-quote an entire set of pics just to add a line or 2 at the bottom.
  11. The thickness of 'gold' flashing/plating (or whatever term you prefer) on any given rep watch is dependent entirely on the intentions of the person who flashed that watch. There is little consistency & no real QC in the contraband world, so trying to define standards is an act of lunacy.
  12. No out-of-the-box replica watch is an exact match for its gen counterpart (if you are new, you should have read this). Mods generally include reshaping inaccuracies of the case, replacing rep parts with genuine parts (typically, crystals, crown/tubes, pushers (on chronographs), handsets & in more advanced cases, movements, cases or dials) or customizing to the owner's preference. In addition to the cost of the parts, most charge for the labor required.
  13. A search for '6536' & my handle resulted in many relevant links, including this & this.
  14. Pretty incredible, especially considering what you got from the best phones just a few years ago.
  15. On the main page, go to the Watches, Clothing & Accessories section.
  16. The patina makes this watch
  17. Still & again
  18. (Clean) Rodico.
  19. Wore my Bond Sub today
  20. (Clean) Rodico (available from watch supply houses) removes fingerprints & most other non-permanent marks without leaving residue.
  21. Or the jewels need cleaning. Either way, time for service.
