  1. Now, that is what I call a correct hand stack. Nice work, Laz.
  2. As has already been said, replacing the dial is not financially realistic. Keep in mind, also, that if you do find a gen dial, you will either have to replace the ETA movement with a gen (& mod the case to fit) or modify the dial to fit the ETA.
  3. Get well soon, Lani.
  4. I make nails & romance the dead (technology & publishing).
  5. Have a safe & happy summer Zig (& Jen), wherever you are.
  6. Ending the work week wearing my beater As you can see, this evening I switched over to a dual time zone model from a brand that some of you may have heard of
  7. (speechless)
  8. click me
  9. A good, clear pic of the crown side of the case would answer the question. Click here, but note that these bezels are made to fit gen-sized cases (I have no idea whether it will fit your rep case).
  10. If you check the Collectors section, you will likely find what you seek. If not, I am sure that 1 or more of the collectors can source the model you want.
  11. Never thought of a Daytona as being understated. In fact, for most of the model's lifespan, it sat, unsold, in most dealers' cases because it was seen as too over-the-top for a gentleman to wear anywhere outside of a racetrack. Certainly, the threshold of acceptable fashion has shifted in recent years (& not necessarily in a good direction in my opinion), but I still cannot imagine using the term understated in reference to a Daytona, especially the (too-polished) modern (1165xx) versions.
  12. The usual (Thursday)
  13. The 16520 takes a standard 7mm 703 crown/tube, both of which can often be found on ebay. I have not seen any 16520 dials that fit a 7750. You might also wait 24 hours after posting before asking why no one is replying.
  14. Ditto. I would use a case knife or the blade of a pocket knife (no teeth on the blade). You will need to work your way, slowly, around the perimeter of the bezel. But, eventually, it should come off. On the other hand, if you are removing the bezel only to replace the pearl, why not just remove the pearl & install the new 1 with the bezel in place. You ought to be able to pry out the existing pearl (they often fall out on their own with only slight urging) & then press (by hand) in the replacement (assuming the hole in the insert was cut to the same size as the replacement pearl).
  15. Solely based on the decorated & signed plates (which can only be applied when the movement is disassembled), I would assume this is a clone. At the advertised price, I cannot imagine the factory spent the time to disassemble, decorate/sign the plates & reassemble a movement. More likely, it is an Asian-made clone that was decorated during production. But, on the positive side, being an Asian clone, there is a bit less of a chance that the movement is used & was pulled from another watch as is common with reps.
  16. I prefer lighter dials because they are easier to spot
  17. I wore this old thing today
  18. Like most reps, the movement arrives in need of a general servicing, which any rep-friendly watchmaker can handle.
  19. For starters, contrary to the description, that is standard 62xx series Daytona & not a 'Paul Newman'. Beyond that, it is a mediocre rep with too many inaccuracies to name. For about $100 more, search out a 'DW 6263', which corrects near all of that watch's more issues.
  20. Try heating the caseback with a hand-held hair drier set on medium (too hot & you could damage something). Once warm, try the Bergeon tool again (the other options rarely work unless the caseback was not installed correctly to begin with).
  21. Strapped this on today (Tuesday)
