Funny,
The watchmaker serviced the movement and assembled my watch in two weeks......
It took two and a half months to repair it
It would stop every night at 12:12, I'd wake up in the morning and it was dead.
I guess some teeth were chipped on a datewheel gear. I just got it back..so far running like a top.
Really have missed it!
Thanks, I may try that...but another issue is the edge of the crystal where it is glued is a mess too. You can see the installer was not too tidy on this effort.
I bought it on another forum last year and the seller did not disclose any of the modding info. I was a bit mad about it...but the guy was a highly respected member there with an enormous post count, I was new and didn't say anything..lesson learned.
Clarks on eBay has tubes too..Rolex spec Swiss made and pretty inexpensive.
I used to buy actual rolex tubes but found the clarks were good. I bought the two crowns for 75 and the two tubes for 35..that's 55$ per watch.
They are in all my rolexes except a couple with gen 6mm crowns. Aside from the frankin/looks dept...you can really feel a difference with the gen crowns.
I thought it was a fun movie...but I don't really care for the watch..the character he was playing wearing the watch was a school teacher? Makes sense for that watch I guess...he probably wouldn't be wearing a Sea Dweller..
yeah no kidding!
I haven't even attempted modding cg's. It's obvious how it could go south fast and end up way worse than before you started.
Have seen several watches for sale that have been ruined by people trying it.
Now Jmb on the other hand...this makes total sense. I can see how much more the outcome will be consistant.
Awesome idea!
So it could a different size. Mine is the handwind lemania ST something.
It's a common rep with the glass back.
I guess I'll order one of the lower domes and see how it fits.
They are pretty cheap crystals..if it's too small/large I'll go from there.
I bought my speedy second hand and already modded. Mine is the windup with saphire glass back and I think the same one in your original post Andy.
Whoever did mine must have used super glue... because it looks as though fumes got to the inside of the crystal and clouded it. You can also see glue all over the inside and rehaut has been painted.
I want to redo this Andy.. and I just looked up sternkreuz on Ebay
I see there are at least six versions of 336 on ebay at the moment. I am at loss of what to get.
I will probably ask Jmb to do this for me.
Current situation with fogged plexi
Thanks for the info!
If they produce this watch that would be great and I'd buy one.
For now I'll just continue transforming mine into a 166600...
I recently bought a matte dial for it.
