  1. Not kidding Ephry, they are all really bad....but for the CWP insert. Wrong color, wrong size/type pearl.
  2. E, no this is a genuine blue Tudor insert with an Ofrei pearl. I bought three of the "others" and none came close. I've never seen it in person but Classic Watch Parts sells a blue one that's pretty good for around 60$. I got lucky when I found mine and got it for 164$, I've seen them 300-600$
  3. Jmb has it as we speak, the movement died. He fixed and is getting ready to wrap it up.
  4. I don't know Z, campus police might be able to pressure him. You are probably right legally, but it's worth a shot.
  5. My TW best, MBW, EL, River, TTK or whatever it is.
  6. Your right, I didn't mean to make light of it. Contact the campus police and tell them the story. I would think the university would frown on this and put pressure before the real police were brought in. http://police.berkeley.edu/
  7. Although I really like my MBW 16610 and have gen parts installed... I'm going to buy a TC. There's no denying how good they are. Thanks for posting the pics Red..great comparison
  8. If you want gold, skip the gmt and get a gold MBW/MBK sub. Those watches will wear off after awhile.
  9. When I told you, "wait till it's regulated" I was wrong, as TC regulates these himself. You should be good to go there As for sel fit, wait and see what TC says. In your pics it looks like on the bottom sel, one side sits higher. I guess we will see how that works out. I prefer the TC braclet as it's designed to be able to use genuine 2mm springbars. Jmb has had to modify and drill my previous bracelets out for that. Your bezel is hard to turn? If you had more experience with these I would tell you to pop it off and see if the spring is sitting wrong, but please don't as there are things that could go wrong for you with that plan. If you end up sending it back to TC just make sure you tell him you love that one. Keep up with tracking TRF, VRF, ebay and the rep forums for an insert....sooner or later you will find a reasonable priced insert. Your very fortunate to have entered this hobby at a time when watches like these are available, not so long ago there were so many mods that had to be done to make a good watch...now they are close to perfect out of the box....and will continue to get even better.
  10. Yes, and that's exactly why my first question was about what watch you had. Couple years ago I saw same video. I promptly got a knife and tore into my cheap GMT...bent the bezel bad too lol The better watches, MBW, Wm9, BkTw and the TC watches are all made just like the gen. You can do what the guy in the video does with those watches.
  11. Mike, that style of bezel isn't intended to be taken off. Don't feel bad, many of us have done the same thing. They usually get bent by the time you get them off. They are held in by a wire spring, and when you try to reinstall it seems impossible to get back on. It can be done though. The bezel can be flattened in a vice and with the insert off, you can use a tool to work on that spring to get the bezel back on. Easiest way to get the insert out is like TJ says..remove the pearl and pick at it and pull it out from the hole. A hair dryer helps a bunch. Softens the adhesive and the insert will just lift off. Good luck!
  12. The ebay watch might have service lumi dial. He bought it in a pawn shop and doesn't know it's history.
  13. Sounds like you tried to remove the bezel. They are easy to bend and mess up on the cheaper models.
  14. Yeah.....unless he has a TC/Wm9/Bk and a gen insert.
  15. What exact watch do you have?
  16. I'm jealous ephry! That turned out great!

    MBW 1680

This, and anytime someone has the courage to tackle modding.... my hat's off to them. Really would like to see more clearer pictures.
  18. Can't wait to see your builds Joey
  19. You said nothing wrong, I think most feel the same.
