  1. I got to play with this exact watch today. These are very nice watches...to anyone that's not handled one before.
  2. I think if you know what your doing it's awesome using vintage gear. I do understand that the people responsible for the dive or area being upset though. If it was me, and I knew what I was doing..I would have probably already known this response was coming. I would just dive in another area with like minded friends. I love vintage anything! I'm vintage myself!
  3. Looks great, what is the bezel like? Does it come off, or is it paperclip type?
  4. I'm sure there is, I don't have it in front of me. Just makin sure you wernt wanting it for a 20mm bracelet.
  5. You know this is a 22mm bracelet Ephry
  6. Yeah no kidding, when I got interested in these it was 04-05 and I hadn't found these forums yet though. Used to have to get all these cases machined to fit gen parts. I'm just flat out amazed...even in the last year, the Sean case and TC arrived. I'm still waiting for a real cloned 1020 that takes gen parts and can be serviced. Op: your gonna be very happy and surprized about the quality. Even a 100$ noob is incredible other than the pearl.
  7. You might lose 1-200$ if you sold it. I don't see how you can not be happy though. Your buying a watch that is 90% accurate to the gen you had. With a gen insert its almost impossible to tell from a genuine Rolex. There are three top watches and they each have their pluses and minus's. Your buying one of the three. By the way, these reps this accurate is a fairly recent thing. We used to have to spend tons more and lots more time modding to get them this good. You jumped into this world at a great time. Put a gen insert in it, your done.
  8. The 93150 that comes with Josh's 5513 is ok.
  9. Yes cousin, that's the seller. He has even more dials than in the pics. My dial is worn pretty much and has damages around the edges. I'm thinking about changing dials. I have a gen nos crystal, and two gen bracelets, a folded and a rivet for this watch too. Although small at 34-35mm they seem to wear larger. Maybe it's the crystal height.
  10. I have a nice winder I bought a few years ago. I used it faithfully for three or four months. Since I had to adjust my watches anyway I lost interest in it and finally quit using my winder. I have never read anything solid one way or the other as to winders being good or bad.
  11. Also to add, If the silex will fit a gen dial, there's a seller on VRM the has 100's of nos 6694 dials. They come in every color and option available and are only around 100$
  12. I've not seen the silex models but the pictures are nice. Here's my gen
  13. That's what I was wondering...how to make it GMT. I'm also curious about this watch...rehaut looks nice. Archie, the guy selling the 2846's is the only one for 99$ free shipping and located in Switzerland. Great service and item as described. I figured I'd have to wait weeks before it arrived..but under a week. Jmb has my new 2846 going into my 5512
  14. I am wearing the non blue.
  15. Sneed, there's an ebay seller in Switzerland with nos Swiss eta 2846 for 99$ delivered. I bought one and had it in five days. Look forward to seeing what you do with this one
  16. I handled a couple of his watches. Yes what frank says is true in part, the guy does sell parts. But he's also a German designer and has developed some cool watches. I like em
  17. Thanks! Second link is the one
  18. Ive been looking at Gallet's awhile. I love yours, where did you find an affordable one? The prices I've seen have been pretty high. I didn't know about racing history. Yours came out really nice M
  19. I hadn't thought about that Nanuq. That's a huge improvement. If only 702's were as cheap as the others. I have a 702 set that was given to me by a nice guy(ubi) and is with J right now building my 5512. Since I have a few subs built on josh cases maybe I'll start collecting 702's I'm amazed it's that much improvmennt. Thanks for posting the pics Op: Nice Tudor! Really came out nice!
  20. Ive never seen this watch in person and have also worried about the size on my wrist. One thing bout them is the vintage aspect is similar to Rolex. I landed on a cool website a couple years ago that had a huge display of them. All the variants over the years in high res pictures. The collection belonged to an old diver. I just spent an hour trying to find that site with no luck. The thing that really struck me was the aging of the dials...lume and tritium...all differnt colors and textures...very much like vintage Rollie's. I've wondered why the guys with the reps, in general don't age them this way? I wish I could show some examples. Beatiful watch
  21. How much is a gen crown and tube? Who here has swapped them? Or are they hard to get. Sorry, I'm new to this brand rep-wise. This would seem the solution?
  22. Love your gen solk!
  23. Natalie's store on ebay has been gone a month or so, but the Ndt site is still running. Best bet would be contact the site and see what's up.
  24. Jubilee's are the least expensive bracelets Rolex make. Even on ebay, gen's are often very easy to find for not all that much. I bought a gen folded in very good condition for 150$ last year on VRM. If your unsure, sell it as so and drop the price between gen and rep? Your bracelet looks very nice, and to me the clasp looks gen... but I'm no expert. If I wasn't positive I would sell it as such, or just keep it. It's not worth the headache if your not confident in something.
