1. I notice that every one of these pictures has a chapter ring dial. Is that the only proper fitment for a small-arrow 24h hand?
2. Double-T that last photo just knocks it outta the park.
3. Here's mine, we're just back from a nice swim in Eklutna lake. Brrrrrrrr! The ice is melted off... barely.
4. Demer, welcome aboard, friend! From one WUS orphan to another, you're finally home here. And did you say you scored a Black Lung??! Just a minute, my heart is palpitating and my vision going dark... stagger stagger stagger Well done! Can we see a picture of this rare beastie? If it's the one I think it is.... whooie! Believe it or not, of the 11 Black Lungs I know of, most of them live here. Like I said, welcome home! We've had some long guessing game discussions here about the Next Hot Brand now that vintage Rolex is through the roof, and Doxa seems to be stepping in to fill the gap. Although, I don't understand that last BL that failed to sell on eBay at $2,900? Screaming deal for an ULTRA rare piece. Maybe it was because he mentioned changing the crystal to sapphire? The pics don't bear that out, but I bet it scared some buyers off. Anyway, welcome aboard! *hoists an akevitt in Demer's honor*
5. Boeing makes a very good lube for mountain bikes, called Boelube T-9 or something like that and it has a long needle tip. One drop might do it!
6. There you go again, being sensible!
7. Interesting living, for sure! Mbjoer, don't you live in the arctic? The Long Dark must affect your town too?
8. I tried moving the original thread to another section, thinking that would rename/renumber it, and break the eBay link. No dice. Only way is to unapprove (hide) it until he edits his eBay listing to remove its reference. If you want to pursue that, shoot me a PM.
9. Another good idea, Andrew ... maybe the caseback has been deformed?
10. Hmmmmmmmm. Manually wound, it works fine? I wonder if the bearing that holds the rotor is dead? No movement there means no winding, and that rotor/bearing is the piece that gets the most pain (torques, impact impulses, etc). Okay I'll play devil's advocate. And I'm the guy here that runs over old watches just to hear them scream so I get a "get out of jail free" card. If you're not going to wear it anymore if the repair fails, how is that different than boogering it up with the wrong lube? I say open the back with a wadded up rubber glove or a wad of duct tape, then see if you can get a drop in the rotor pivot. See if that frees it up. If it does, there's your problem. If it doesn't, then it's still dead / no change. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
11. Little chocolate sumptin-sumptin for today.
12. Andrew, as far as anyone can figure that's a one-of-a-kind caseback. Unobtainable and lovely.
13. And now the Long Dark starts to come back...... the days are almost 21 hours here now, in 6 months the nights will be almost 21 hours.
14. And yes, the Sun is still up!
15. Niiiiiiiiiiiiice. Let's see a profile shot!
16. Same with me... I use TaT for many fora and each one stores its own unique login credentials. I started seeing the embedded
and
with a recent TaT upgrade. Or if I edit a post and save it, then those tags sometimes appear.
17. Let me add a quick addendum... Gents, by the way this played out you see why we vet people for high value sales here. A "hurry up" attitude is a big red flag, and as you yourself have uncovered, many people talk big, especially when cornered, but their personal history belies their Internet persona. Well done, gents! And a happy Fathers' Day to all.
18. Are you SURE it's a screw head and not a split pin?
19. Let's have a little correction, iceberg. You pm'd me the 14th and I replied asking for your vetting details the 15th. You sent them 1:35am today. How is that "days" of waiting? Consider that we might not have approved your request for a high value sales at all. And certainly we would not have done the amount of work necessary to approve you beyond a reasonable doubt between now and the 14th. If you're in that much of a hurry, sell it elsewhere. And consider an apology for complaining about a 36 hour delay between your request and my response. Like Freddy said we too have a life, and mine is not spent behind a computer. I'm lucky to have cell connectivity at all, the places I go. Your high value sales on this forum: UNapproved.
20. RWG.cc (this site) is the current incarnation of the original RWG, that came from TRC many years ago. We tend to refer to the other RWG as "RWG Jr." for several reasons. There have been some threads that answer this well; take a little search for them and it will fill in the gaps.
21. Hey DuDro... welcome back! Long time no see!
22. It's Flag Day here in the USA, gents! Here's my contribution, though I should say "silver" instead of "white."
