I wonder if it means he cobbled on a funky crystal and it's not waterproof anymore? I'd really want to see some closeup profile shots of that puppy.
The Black Lung is rare as an honest politician, but like P153 said, if it needs parts, you're pretty much out of luck. This one makes 11 examples that I know of, worldwide.
6 hours from swimming to simmering. Deeeeeee-lish! But not quite as fresh as the one that came off the hook, filleted and grilled 5 minutes out of the water, on the deck of the boat.
Lordy lordy lordy that's good cracker.
Spotted this morning on FleaBay, a Black Lung SUB300. It looks to be in good shape, but the crystal looks odd. He said he had it replaced with sapphire... I'd want to see a profile closeup of that!

The diameters are the same but a 1665 bezel is MUCH thicker than a 5512/5513/1680. It might not even click on the retaining ring.
Curiously, the same insert will fit a 6536, 5512, 5513, 1680 and 1665. I didn't see that one coming!
1665
Snowflake (same as 5513/1680)
@Hart, you're painfully prescient! Most of the time in fresh water I've had to break ice away before going in. Saltwater stays clear much colder. For commercial diving we just used those orange rubberized canvas gloves and our hands stayed remarkably warm. And at the end of a long shift we'd be knee deep in sweat inside our drysuits. Naassssty!
Speaking purely as the purest of purists, though not Puritan, I think I can speak for everyone when I say that a close inspection of these "domes" you mention is needed, perhaps even required, to ascertain the true beauty of this piece.
Yeah there seems to be a small diameter difference in the WSO parts.
His bezel on a gen ring -- won't stay on
Gen bezel on his ring -- too tight
His bezel on his ring -- pretty nice
I ordered a 1675 bezel set from WSO and it didn't fit a gen retaining ring. But when I used his retaining ring / bezel combo it clicked on pretty securely. The shape of the grooves in the bezel was a little off but overall it looks good. I installed it on a friend's gen 1675. For about 2x the money I could have got a gen bezel only, without retaining ring.
For the 6542, you want to go here. I put one of their plated brass bezels on my gen 6536 and it's VERY nice. Tell them you want just the bezel and ring/spring and do not want the insert. They'll knock off some of the price. Then talk to JMB JoeyB here on RWG about his inserts.
Bada-bing, bada-boom. Done.
edit: Sorry Joey! I had the wrong name in there.
Yes, the 702 is a great improvement. It's the Grandpappy of crowns.
Bear in mind the aspect ratios of the 2 pictures is a little skewed. It's not quite as dramatic a difference as it appears.
MAN DOWN! MEDIC! MEDIC!!!
It's all right man, stay strong. We got your back. In the meantime try one of CrazySaleMan's DRTRLXXLWWW, it works great on wounded arms.
I've got two rare gen dive watches for sale: Doxa SUB 300 (no T) Sharkhunter from 1967, and a first-edition machined titanium Diving Team 1000 chrono from Sector, the only good watch they ever made, IMHO.
There ya go. Interested?
