I had the same thing happen when I won some very expensive watch bracelets on the 'Bay. It was the seller's first transaction and it gave me some small bit of security, but it sure made the seller unhappy. As soon as the parts arrived I looked them over, posted positive feedback, and he got his cash. The seller's first reaction was that I was scamming him... I told Paypal that I didn't appreciate the poor aspersions it cast upon me in the seller's eyes.

You guys know that I loathe new watches. That's a given. If it's not vintage then it's not interesting. That being said, I just ordered a new watch. Yes you read that right. And it's gonna be a stunner. It will be ready in about 4 weeks... photos to follow.

"Stick" hour indices, check. It looks like a well placed coronet... check. But it's awfully big in diameter. Zenith? Maybe... check the subdial spacing. Those don't look like screwdown pushers to me.

I guess the salient question is, "What is a Rolex?" To me, these are Rolexes.

Okay I'll stick my neck out here... it looks to have running seconds at 9:00 and a domed plexi crystal... silver subdials. Early Daytona or perhaps a Heuer Autavia?

I wonder how close the Seiko hand sizes are to ETA sizes? I believe Doxa parts are easier to get, and those might fit right onto the Seiko. I wrote Noah this morning about recreating a B&R Seiko... he's on vacation. Imagine that!!! How inconsiderate.

It should all be readily available, except for those hands. Compare those to the ones shown in the picture after it. Close but not quite right.

Okay, after reading these posts and feeling the angst behind the words, I hereby take it as my sworn duty to act. To all who own Rolexes and hate them... send them to me. I'll put them out of your misery. This is sort of cathartic, eh?
