  1. Hey now, that's the only kind of date some of us (Ken) will ever get. >rimshot<
  2. "A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship." "Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage." -Alexander Tyler
  3. You think THAT'S bad..... who can name the pieces here? note.... none of these are MY watches!
  4. I prefer the old over the new any day! She's a beauty.
  5. Good Lord. There's not a white Patrizzi there, but you sure nailed the rest. As and Ps, Highs and Lows, Mark-1, Mark-2, Patrizzi and Porcelain. I'm impressed!
  6. While we're at it, why not demand the politicians making these laws also pass the test?
  7. The gauntlet is tossed!
  8. No problem. That price should include an insert... if you watch Ebay those pieces come up once in awhile separately.
  9. Okay experts... there are eight different versions of Daytona here. Who can name them?
  10. Is it just me, or does the backdrop behind those lovely shivering lasses remind you of someone skinning a caribou? @Dems... those aren't beanbags, they're "flotation devices"
  11. I might have one... let me check when I get home. If I remember it has an "okay" insert... it would need a pearl to set that Tudor up right. You do mean the fluted bezel, not coin edge... right?
  12. It's easy to find a bezel like that... classicwatchparts.com has 'em. They have the coin edge and fit great. He also has inserts but I've been told they're plastic and not metal. HOWEVER they won't fit a newer Sub (5512/17). The retaining ring and dimensions are different from the early no-crown-guards Subs.
  13. Dang!
  14. Well, one thing we have in common... we both love a good barbie. Shrimp or penguin? Your choice.
  15. .......and in Alaska you can go out with a shovel and find these
  16. Now I hate to do this to you, but... your scenery sucks. Ocean, ocean, ocean. Bleah. THIS is scenery. An untouched photo, other than sizing it down.
  17. Ah, and yet the weather here is *perfect* ... blue skies as far as the eye can see, fresh new snow, hoarfrost on the trees, the bears are still asleep, alpenglow on the mountains, and we have natives too!
  18. You guys are good!
  19. If they match the seconds hand, then that's pretty nice. Here's how my GMT looks... it's sorta hard to see the color difference here, but it's very noticeable in real life.
  20. Still waiting for Ubi to weigh in on this one... I know what he's going to say.
  21. Okay folks... is it real, or is it fake? Omega Seamaster 300M
  22. If it was up to me, I'd leave it just like that. It is very common for hands to be replaced, and not the dial, or vice versa. On my 1675 it's the reverse of yours... the hands are darker than the dial. Can you get both hands the same color as the hours hand appears in your photo?
  23. Now THAT'S a good idea!! And it fits right in with the Boy Scout Motto... BE PREPARED!
  24. Thanks for all the great replies! I went to Best Buy and the man there says I can buy 'em and try 'em and if I don't like 'em?? ............bring 'em back, no questions asked. So I picked up a nicer pair of Sony's and they're warm but muddy... so back they go. Then I put my cheap Skullcandy buds back on, jammed the tips in my ears and hit Play, and I was blown away at the bottom octave that suddenly showed up, and how dynamic the sound is. I mean they just sound amazingly open and airy and punchy compared to the high end Sonys, and these little suckers only cost like $16.99 At this price I can afford to freeze them in the car overnight, slam them in the door, drop them in the snow... and not even worry. SHWEEEET!!!
  25. The poor girl's been in an accident and the air bags went off!
