  1. Magnificent piece!
  2. Ahhhh, the heady insanity of early RWG!
  3. I've noticed that with the advent of the iPhone, Craaaaaaaaazy's response time has improved dramaticarry. Whoops. "Dramatically". I ordered up a XXLDRTRLWWW and before I could sneeze I had a spanking new "watch" on my iPhone. I spent the rest of the day sporting that bad boy taped to my wrist and felt pretty darn spiffy.
  4. @Cornerstone Are you still able to deliver now that the Beijing Olympics are underway? I understand that one of our illustrious (translation: "tattooed") Moderators is looking for a new Rollie. Can you deliver? Do you take Hasblo Monopory money?
  5. @Ziggy, Say it isn't so! You sold that lovely 5508? I guess there's no more need for me to hang onto this gen superdome tropic-17 then eh?
  6. Interesting... The winner has ONE feedback. I bet this one gets relisted. @jjfesq. This is an early Pan-Am GMT but not the "pilot/executive" version, as that one had a white dial. Verrrrrrry rare.
  7. I hereby nominate DBR to be our sacrificial lamb and order up 2 of those 6542s, one to be shipped to me for photographic documentation purposes. All in favor say "aye"
  8. Absolutely magnificent. Ziggy's the only one that's been inside my 6536 ... his skills are that good. Congratulations! As soon as you're tired of that Red, please just send it to me. I'll cover the postage.
  9. Did someone say CRAZY??? CRAAAAAZY sale!!

    Finally!

    What a beautiful piece! Congratulations!
  11. Magnificent! One of my favorites.
  12. Nice photos! We're in the 40s now and winter is coming back quickly... Not soon enough for me though!
  13. Did somebody say Jean-Claude Killy? A classic!
  14. This week I'm giving this old piece of tin a little exercize....
  15. Yo mama's so short... You can see her feet on her driver's license!
  16. Great info! Got any more photos of the early "Bond" pieces? Some argue about the exact model used... Was it a 6538 with arabics at 3, 6 and 9?
  17. That's a nice collection! Nicely done. Except for the one stain on your grouping... the Snowflake. Please send it to me and I'll volunteer to remove the one blemish on your otherwise fine family.
  18. Thanks Ken, that's my favorite! St. Crispin's Day --------------------------------------------------- This day is called the Feast of Crispian: He that outlives this day, and comes safe home, Will stand a-tiptoe when the day is named, And rouse him at the name of Crispian. He that shall see this day and live t'old age, Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours, And say "To-morrow is Saint Crispian": Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars And say "These wounds I had on Crispin's day." Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember with advantages What feats he did that day. Then shall our names, Familiar in his mouth as household words Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter, Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester, Be in their flowing cups freshly remembered. This story shall the good man teach his son; And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered; We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he today that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition: And gentlemen in England now abed Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day. Wm. Shakespeare, Henry V
  19. Welcome! Is your name a reference to, may I inquire, some place COLD?
  20. Wow she's a beauty. How, you might ask, can one tell the gender of a watch? It has to do with the voluptuous *cough* domed plexi crystals. All Hail the Fifty!
  21. I love this place for the band of brothers that started it way back when. We hatched a plan and executed it en masse one glorious day, and look what's become of that plan! The original few are still here, and we still love watches. But even moreso, we love spending time together, enjoying each other's company. TwoTone has a signature that says "where people gather, life happens". That sorta says it all. It's like Cheers... like a place to go plop down and have a beer with your chums and share a laugh. There's a LOT of integrity here, much hidden "behind the scenes". That cannot be bought.... it must be earned one day and one post at a time. Oh, and I like watches too!
  22. Well that's understandable... "Into the Wild" is about this bozo kid that wandered off into the bush and starved in a setting where any kid here could live comfortably and have a good laugh at the people looking for him too! I think they make the Paul Davies books in large-type format....... ;-)
  23. Welcome back KerriMe! Yep, the selection is way better. Unfortunately some of the prices are staggering. Read, read, read and read some more. Dive in! This is a great place.
  24. Ahhhhh, go find a book by Paul Davies called "About Time". He's a great writer and when you get to the part about particle showers from the upper atmosphere and time dilation... you won't be able to put it down. After you finish that one, go find the book "The Accidental Universe" by the same author.
