  1. I'm thinking that is Paul's Red Sub from many years ago. Those aren't MBW crown guards and that silver date wheel looks familiar. A t127 should be close; take ID and OD measurements and check the G&S and Sternkreuz catalogs.
  2. I pooched the movement on my new PAM 604, it's the P.3000 clone. I'm wondering if a 6497 movement would be a drop-in replacement for it? Thanks!
  3. Hello my name is Inigo Montoya, I am searching for the six finger man who killed my father. I logged in and it made me Nanuq... is Nanuq the six-fingered man? HELLO! MY NAME IS INIGO MONTOYA! PREPARE TO BE BANNED! (just kidding)
  4. Absolutely! Old Skool Rulez, on and off the rink! I broke the towers on my Bauer 5000s so I've been looking for something from the era that will measure up. I scored some sweet NOS Bauer Composite Supremes and baked them up to fit, and had my first practice. They did GREAT. Dang, my shoulder is sore today! I was digging my new master blaster (Reebok 11K) to replace my old Hespeler stick. My only nod to "new hotness" replacing "old nastiness".
  5. Gents, I'm sure you've all watched with glee as I ventured into the weird and inscrutable world of Panerai, starting my Illness with a beautiful engraved 604. Then I'm sure you saw me post about this wonderful timing app I found. Yes, two plus two equals three. In the process of adjusting my movement I did something bad to it, perhaps slipping with my screwdriver and poking the hairspring. Were it a robust and hearty Rolex, of course it would have shrugged off my ham handed attempt. But being a pansy Panerai it succumbed to what is a normal and totally acceptable level of abuse. *cough* The balance still turns 2 or 3 oscillations when nudged, then stops. I can't see any hairspring coils looped together, or any beard hairs caught in the escapement. So I turn to you for advice. Who works on these things? It's the P.3000 clone movement. Thank you!
  6. Just done with practice, where'd I put my Nalgene full of Heineken?
  7. I tackled this problem recently with Mary's lovely 7836 band. You can get pretty good results if you find the right bits to fit in there. http://rwg.cc/topic/185088-new-end-mid-links-for-a-7836/
  8. Dammit mjmj, when you gonna send me that gorgeous JLC?!!!
  9. Must ... resist ... Panerai.... Man this 604 is a handsome piece! Surely there are other nice examples out there? NO! NO!! NO!!! Must Resist!
  10. Been out riding the icebike amongst the snowflakes, so this seemed apropos.
  11. Nahhhhhhhh you don't want a Shelby, you want one of these. If you can't get a Boss Muskrat then a Tiger will do nicely too.
  12. After dabbling in oversized monstrosities for a few days I'm back to the size God intended ... 37mm

  14. Or, hunting grizzly bears with chainsaws! ME with the chainsaw ... not the bear.
  15. I'm trying not to READ too loud too, are you getting good readings over there?
  16. Shhhhhhh!!! You're talking halfway across the world from me and it's messing up my readings!
  17. Let me correct that for you.... "a VERY VERY VERY quiet room" for an accurate read. It works but it's frustrating!
  18. I tried a new app today; this one seems pretty good, and at $3.99 it's cheap enough to take a punt. Watch Tuner Lite by Bartlomiej Swiatek https://appsto.re/us/sEWV5.i
  19. For everyone unfamiliar with what our gurus are talking about, read here: https://www.minus4plus6.com/regulation.php Better be sitting down, this is spooky stuff.
  20. What he said. If it's a gift from Lani, it's worth preserving.
  21. Gotta keep the kids trained up! Now she has her own M9A1 and is pretty good with it.
  22. We do that here in Alaska too but the shivers throw your aim off.
