  1. What? Nobody showed him the Scotch cabinet behind the champagne fountain in the Admin lounge???
  2. I've talked to the Boss and he thought he had it fixed. I'll let him know it's still tweaked
  3. Now that it's accessible, let's use it! Our reputations are among our most valuable possessions. Let's use the tool to honestly outline and clarify reputations.
  4. Mornin gents, the Boss made some much needed changes over the weekend, the biggest being the elusive RWG Feeback tool. Take a look at the drop-down menus across the top of your screen, the Feedback resides there now, along with a few other shortcuts that should make life here easier. Thanks Chief!
  5. Yes, welcome to the weird and whacky world of reps where nothing is as it seems (or is advertised). The advice you get from old timers here was learned the hard way, so it's best to follow it exactly. Try to clean the residue out from your first Evostick attempt. You might even try chasing the tube threads with a tap to get them really clean. JB wants to stick to bare metal. Then install your tube with plenty of JB and make sure it completely fills the gap to the case. Make sure the tube is perpendicular to the case side, and clean up the nasty JB that's easy to get to. Then let it sit at least a day so it's thoroughly cured. Later you can use tools to remove extra JB and touch it up.
  6. Crown guards are almost a separate issue. The crown on my Nastymariner is so dented it won't seal anymore, and that's with crown guards. Imagine the damage it would have got without them! It probably would have been broken clean off.
  7. My old buddy DP ... is that slow, precise, determined speech the result of two (dozen) too many scotches? Did you save a few for me?!! I feel bad for Admin, the server took a dump on his birthday. That's just not right!
  8. @hologramet I found two flavors of that buckle, and got both, shipped, for under $25 Shweeeeeeeet
  9. Rats! I'm looking for the original engraved buckle and Watchstation has them but I don't want to deal with WU or bank transfer. Anyone have one of these buckles for me to complete the look?
  10. One of the benefits of a screwdown crown is once it's closed, you can't accidentally bump it or turn it underwater and compromise the seal. It holds everything in place until you unscrew it again.
  11. I feel your pain, brother. The agony of abandoning a long-held belief, only to be assaulted by the joy of new discovery. Does RWG have a Paneristas Anonymous chapter??
  12. Today is Fearless Leader's birthday! That's right, our ever-patient "Admin" got another free trip around the Sun. Gratulerer med dagen!
  13. Absolutely! She's already been up a mountain and for a fatbike lap around lower Chugach trails. I think she likes it here in Alaska. [emoji1360]
  14. Nope you're wrong JoeyB, I just counted... one, and two.
  15. The factory released a "Firenze" model 604 (named after Florence) and produced 99 hand engraved examples. Original price was 17,000 euro. So yeah... I won't be wearing this around anyone who knows anything about Panerai!
  16. Good Lord man, I hope it's not contagious! [emoji12]
  17. I dunno Legend, maybe it's because these things are big enough to choke a camel? Or the enormous baffling array of apparently unrelated numbers used to define what appear to be identical watches? You got your 018s and 178s and 104s and 604s and 309s and 409s and 427s and Hemis and ... wait now I'm talking about engines. Are these numbers based on any sort of meaningful sequence, or did they just attend a couple Bingo nights and record the winners? Let's just say THIS particular watch, right here on MY wrist, is pretty nice. The others? I'll withhold judgement (and commentary!) for now.
  18. You guys probably know I've sworn on my dog's eyes that I'd never wear a (puke) Panerai. Horrible things. [emoji1361] While we were on the Isle of Man, Andy tossed around a whole boatload of Panerai watches and the buggers got under my skin. Or maybe it was the heady atmosphere of beautiful women and long days and no sleep? [emoji469] Regardless, I found myself glancing at them more and more. Yes dammit, I heard their Siren Song. [emoji13] And now I've got one of Andy's fine pieces (actually his BEST piece) on my wrist, and here I am... popping my cherry with my first EVER wristie of me and a Pam. I've got to say gents... this is a darn fine piece. THERE I SAID IT!!
  19. This is the very definition of making a silk purse from a sow's ear. Beautiful result.
  20. Daaaaaaaang what a result!! I'd lower that crystal about 3mm but that case work is amazing.
