I had two for sale around $350 - $400ish. Both are gone now though. I'm using one on my 5512 build myself.

Jkay, that's not really being called out. The person obviously didn't call you on wearing a rep, meaning couldn't tell from looking at your wrist. She, like the average person, might have noticed it as a Rolex and therefore assumed it must be ridiculously expensive. Hence the actually rude question She didn't say "You are wearing a fake! I can tell because...." That's what l consider being called out.

I think the whole heirloom idea is great. However, I personally wouldn't go for a 16610 - most common Rolex there is. A nice 1680, if you want a date, otherwise a 5513. I know I would be happier to get something a little more unique than the "entry level" luxury watch. Hell, I say everyone wearing a Planet Ocean has put more thought into his choice of watch then everyone wearing a 16610. In Manhattan, every 15th man on the street is wearing that sub.

I always like my watches to look age appropriate. I don't mean they have to be beaten up, but if my gen insert is faded and scratched, then I don't want my watch to look like freshly polished. Soft edges, a small ding and dang - a few scratches on the CB from opening the watch and all is fine. And afaik, you already have a few 62XX Daytonas right? So why not try out a new look? How does your dial look? Service dial? Tropical touch? This would factor in my decision.

Well, I hadn't checked out that thread before, but I find that flaw to be visible in your QC pics as well. I hope Phong accepts an exchange, because print quality-wise it's stella. And you are right, his 3 CROC PN doesn't have the problem - as already shown above

Even though that watch looks really great, there is one thing that bugs me about it. Maybe something you should contact Phong about. I noticed that your running seconds subdial at 9 is significantly closer to the minute track than the minute counter at 3. Which, one a V72 shouldn't be the case. Is your minute counter subdial smaller? If you compare it to a gen dial, you'll see what I mean. I hope you are ok with me pointing it out. For $1-2k I'd find it acceptable, but at $6k I would at least talk to Phong about a replacement dial. Except for that - KILLER WATCH! Regards Akira

What you need, is to change that fake-ass submariner bezel to a 1675 one. The watch is rather nice, the bezel screams horrible fake You could probably modify your existing bezel as well. Deep cuts, is what I would go for.

BTW that TT Rolexaddict built GMT is for sale at RWG1.1

That bezel looks very nice! Truly an improvement to the DW. And l agree with freddy, there are more important gen parts to a franken v72 Daytona, then the bezel.
