Damn fine piece you have there ! i love this model !

Hey, I have had a Dial for one of my builds sitting in my box for a while that needed lume. It was sent to someone for a lume job but it wasn't what i was looking for. Was wondering if you could relume the dial with an off white creamy puffy lume like a vintage rolex with no glow for this build ? I have a set of hands that i would like matched to it as well. If i manage to get some Tritium off an old dial is it possible to mix this into the application ? I know this is a littler over the top but ive had it stuck in my head to do for a while on this one a and my lume skills are not so great. Cheers Clet

I've seen glossy ones on gens online. But no idea as these in gen form are a rarity. Here is is an update on mine.. toned down the white hands and added a gen crown (or I think is gen as it came on my 1520 gen movement) added 580 endlinks and a riveted bracelet and I softened the plexy and just need to repolish the case a bit after working it a little around the crown.

Hey fellas, been cleaning out my parts boxes of tons of watches I have bought over the years and really some of them I bought when I was young and stupid lol and others because of a good deal. I have two rolies here that I would like to know opinion on the cases. Good to use in a build or completely off. They actually look quite decent compared to some of the reps I've seen. Just have no idea where they came from lol don't mind the inserts ETs that's junk lol one is a good 1665 and one a 5513 let me know your thoughts on them. 1665 case and the 5513

Thanks legend ! Vipassana quite sure this would fool the general public. Most people have no idea they even made a green submariner ? The V6s colour flattens out in overcast and doesn't glow emerald like the gen. I will be getting a gen at some point.

None of them are correct to gen, but in saying that. The 7 is better than the V6s for now until I get a gen insert.

Sacsah1 you could possibly get a gen insert ? ? I'll shoot you a pm tomorrow. Ryantunna yea the V6S is a little darker but the number paint is a lot more faint then the gen. for someone who knows, it sure is a dead give away, but I'm on the hunt lol

I agree fellas on the insert and although in photos the insert looks sage in person it looks very much emerald and brighter not dark st all. I'll get another photo tomorrow when I am out in better natural light. The V7 does look very much gen like or as best as you can get without going gen. i have not been able to get my hands on a Gen insert. I have gen GMT bezels and inserts and a few gen LN inserts, but I cannot come across the Gen Hulk insert. If I do I will buy it on the spot, but until then the V7 insert will have to do, I think it's much nicer than the V6S as for the crystal ? Already have one just have not had time to install it. Waiting on the V7 to arrive to do it all at once. And yea yea it is a costly build and some will say if they go that far they would buy the gen etc... but I can go out and buy the gen any day and probably will, but the fun part here is building something as close to gen looking as you can. For some odd reason that feeling gives a sense of accomplishment lol ? Thanks for for the input fellas ! Cheers !

hmm interesting. So chamfer the inner side with a fine file to thin the crown ? ill give that a shot ! thanks for the input fellas and thanks for the case set J ! still have not assembled my Daytona yet lol too many projects on the go. I seem to get a push when i get home from work after being gone a month then it tames off when i realize how much time and money im spending Oh and by the way i friggen love that white explorer !!

Just finished this beauty when my dial arrived today.. I didnt have a set of hands, so I robbed a set off one of my other builds just to get it assembled lol V6S case set Gen Dial Gen hands Gen crown and tube Gen 3135 movement have a V7 bezel and insert coming unless I can find a Gen insert that's not stratospherically expensive lol anyways please critique ! I'm always up for ways to improve ! Cheers !

Hey fellas here is my Space Dweller that I just assembled this morning while trying to kick my jet lag lol let me know what you think.. aside from the hands that are far too white lol its a JMB v2 case with gen like serial and model engravings to place it in 1963 the year the Dweller was sold in Japan. Whoopy gloss dial ETA 2836

Ok fellas, I am looking for someone to do a puffy non luminescent lume job on my Comex dial. I have had it a few years now waiting to finish my project but just never had the time with other stuff and life in the way.. but now I have a fresh serviced 1520 NOS movement that's also been sitting in my box for a while, a HH 5514 case, Gen crown and tube, gen insert, Gen crystal, NOS t hands and I reeeeeaaaly want to assemble this lol. I have acquired a few t dials that I have recovered the tritium from and crushed it fine to be mixed into the mix ( more for my mind than anything lol ) I am back in Canada Next week and would like to send it out right away and really I don't care what the job cost if its done quick and right the first time. any suggestions ?

Date is too far left ? Is this my watch you are talking about ? lol its possibly the angle but mine is 100% genuine rolex inside, so alignment is perfectly as a gen would be.

Thank you ! I do enjoy it quite a lot ! It didn't take long. Bought the watch a few months back and rounded up the rest of the parts while I was away for work in September then boom. So about a month for everything. When I get something in my head I can't just wait.. I'm too in patient lol
