Good day fellas. Have a new 5514 on the way and i just picked up a 1520 Gen movement for it and im looking for a GEN like Comex dial to finish it off.. i have seen the yuki ones and im not so sure of what else is out there.. any hints ? oh and a set of hands as well. thanks C

And too funny on the fella who offered you a "better case" lol it goes to show how some people with the rep bug have gone too silly with things and yet truly have no idea what the gen looks like.

from the look of this watch and detailed pictures its spot on without having my mostly gen MK XVI side by side with it. The lume job on dutche's watch is pretty much exact to my GEN lume and the dial look texture and lume application looks damn well exact. Id say this is pretty much 98% of the gen look. So id say its closer than the XVII.

Maybe im digging u pan old post, but I have come across this and love the look of your watch for one ! congrats .. I have a MK XVI as well with gen hands and dial and this looks pot on to my gen lume. I was wondering what strap you are using ? the only reason i cant get used to wearing the watch is because of its small strap and well small watch ( i wear 44mm panerai's ) It seems that strap would make my watch a little easier to wear. @ almost 40mm (38) it shouldn't look so small on my wrist but it looks like a small frame rolie on my wrist and feels odd. cheers and thanks C

Just got my first AP last week ( chronopassion ) but the 911 dash really caught my eye.. sorry bit of a Porscheaphile lol

marlins work on the asians are amazing and running at 21600 like then gen as well as the proper finish on the gears. I have been told this many times now by many great watchsmiths that the asian 6497 in the current rep panerais are every bit as good as a gen swiss you will buy on ebay or any other source and even better when they are serviced to the level our modders here provide. I just picked up 7 custom built Panerai Reps all with asian movments but i dare you to find a flaw that would make you choose a swiss over this much less costly movement. I do not like to spend cash on garbage so when my watch builder said the the asian movements when reworked are fantastic and closer to gen Panerai than buying a swiss and having it reworked i did not doubt for a second that he was very much correct.

Ok now I'm really on edge lol I think I'm going to need my 3646 sent just to settle myself down .. That dial for my 6154 looks fantastic !! You truly are a master watchmaker and artist ! I'm blown away by the work put into my 3646 and by the looks of it my 6154 will be just as nice ! Ohh my the way I have another moly 3602 movement I can send your way if you need more parts movements. Markie it's truly an amazing watch ! I've decided it's pointless to but gens now lol I have a few gens ill keep but these watches and the detail joe puts into them is truly amazing. Actually have a gen 112 that I'm giving to my old Man as a gift and keeping my marlin built 112 when it arrives

yea i want it to restore and keep .. im not a two tone type of person .. i really dont like gold color stuff but i like this a lot. im going to jump on it. the service was done a month ago when i first found the watch and they wanted 4g for it lol she then emailed me today saying she will sell it for the price i offered. it has been worn well i can see that .. but thats what i love about these vintage rolies. ill take more pictures when i get it.

Hey guys , ran into a local watch for sale its an older air-king-date with the T-swiss made-T dial and i think a plexi crystal so i think its older. but looks to be in good shape aside from the crystal and its fluted gold bezel ( ill be changing that out ) anyways i can get it for $1000 its been serviced just sitting in a jewelry box for a lot of years. input would be appreciated, cheers !

Remove the movement/ dial and make sure the dial lock screws are in the correct position. Then check what Chris had mentioned .. But I have had movements that were snug but dial still moving and making an annoying clicking sound an catching my seconds hand on the sub dial .. It just required the lock screws for the dial to be turned .. If you are unsure of these screws an where they should be I can take a picture Cheers CP

forgot to mention ..., LOVE that black Merc !! it kills me to see some of the new designs .. only Audi of the german car makers has kept some of its heritage in there .. you can always tell its an audi .. some of the new Merc's i have no idea what they are until i see the badge .. and ill not even start on the new 911 the 991 models .. I HATE THEM ! lol look cool side on and thats it ..
