haha yea i was going a bit nuts lol when im on my month off and home i check the site quite a bit lol it was like crack withdrawal having the site down.. i have a few others i use but not the same as here.

Finished my GMT II project using the new CHS case,Gen dial, gen hands, Gen Crystal, Gen Bezel assem and insert, Gen crown and tube, gen datewheel and a yuki/3135/3186 hybrid with a number of gen parts to make it function exactly like the gen 3186, even has the gen 3186 bridge installed for accuracy ? The movement work was done by the master himself Misiekped and amazing work indeed as per usual !! Thanks !! It was a fun watch to build but a pit of a pain in the ass to mount the movement in the case correctly and in the end used a Panerai bezel gasket to use as a thin spacer to keep the movement in place and it worked perfectly !! And looks great ! Anyways here are some shots of the finished product.

Yea I'm pretty sure they were all gloss and gilt dials as well. When I was building mine I did a lot of research and found a good website on it. Just cannot remember the site now lol but even the gen that came up for auction about 4 months ago had a gilt dial. I think this is why I love this dial so much more than the explorer dials.

Pretty sure the only gen parts you cannot use on the Yuki is the balance wheel because its a completely different design.

So a little update on the build. I only got back to Canada Thursday night so i didn't plan on doing anything with this until the movement arrives, but I couldn't help myself lol so a little bit of news on the rep parts vs the gen parts on the bezel and the crystal. First the bezel setup is actually almost identical to the gen piece right down to the spring used (different colour) but the rep spring can be used on the gen bezel and vice versa. Also the (not sure the name) but the crystal gasket retainer with the 24 lobes on it for the 24 hours of the GMT bezel, the rep is exactly the same as the Gen only minor finishing details are different and again either can be used with the rep or gen bezel. They also did an amazing job on the crystal aside from the size of the cyclops as dimensionally it's exactly the same as the gen. The bezel is where it gets different, the finish is much better the height and shape of the chamfers on the bezel are different. The gen also has reliefs cut out in the back of the bezel I assume for weight saving ? Not much either way. The insert makes the biggest difference!! There is. I comparison of how much better the Gen is to the Rep. so that's the gen crystal and bezel assem installed and now waiting for the movement that should be here today ! and I'll install that with the gen hands etc.. here are some photos.

On Puretimes site its listed as a new SA3135 for 2017 with better plating etc... and yes as Misiekped said it looks exactly like an SA3135, I'm curious about the dial but as stated its fantasy, but that's an easy fix with it housing the SA3135, I am more curious of the rest of the watch, CG shape and case shape. bezel etc.. how about the blue version ? it looks nice as well... Cheers !

Thanks mate ! im Quite excited about it! my first so excited and scared to death at the same time. The warden is always calling me an Idiot (Jokingly of course) because im horrible for compulsive buying and buying expensive things when she thinks I shouldn't be lol But on the other hand she still has no idea what I actually make, so I just laugh and egg her on for badness. Well I hope my little one likes me more than my niece and nephews lol they are all scared to death of me, my Nephew calls me the scary man from the Sea lol

lol brilliant post ! loved reading this.. it goes to show like some have mentioned.. we have become such critics of franken builds and reps etc.. that we can find flaws in our heads on a GEN watch lol It shows how this hobby more so brings out the ultra watch snob in us all. if we can pick flaws in a Gen watch. I do not doubt that 99.9% of the population will not be able to tell some of the frankens and even full on reps in our world at this stage in the game. Beautiful watch by the way ! fell in love with this Daytona when it came out. Wanted one but zee warden would have my head on a plate like she did last month when I came home with my 13th guitar.. another Gibson Les Paul Custom shop lol I swear when my little one is born next month she/he will only know her/his dad as "Idiot"

Im in Toronto but I have never heard of this guy. I may give him a shot to see.

Im pretty sure it is an Asian ETA clone just like this GMT CHS movement, but we can hope that they clone the 3186, it would be pretty cool. I think still the best option is a converted Yuki or Gen My converted Yuki is complete now and should be home when I get there in a few weeks to install getting excited about it now !

I hate wearing glasses, but I do have a pair of maui jims that look like the aviators but much better quality and have amazing polarized lens. they are for my beach days when I don't want the warden seeing me checking out the ass that running about everywhere lol
