  1. Damn, sorry to hear the news. I am sure, in due time, EL will fix this for you. The watch is a great one, and since you paid for it, you deserve to be wearing one on your wrist. Cheers
  2. Great I'm going to be sending out a WU today.
  3. There is something extraordinary about the 5513. It retains perfect balance and symmetry. It is as provocative & enthralling as the Explorer 1016 dial is. Maybe because it was also designed by using the Golden Section that it strikes a subliminal chord in anybody who looks deeply into its eyes. The 5513 is a master seducer. Even after all these years, I still return to one of my favorite mistresses time & time again. She somehow gets more and more beautiful with age - a kind of magically reversed embodiment of physiological & superficial beauty. To add to the confusion, her beauty is more than skin deep! 26 Jewels make her 1520 smooth and ultra-accurate. I can always count on my 5513, even if I only wear the watch for a couple of hours a day. The following morning, she will still be running. That is a testament to how damn well the watch is made. The autorotor is that willing to wind at the very slightest amount of movement - unbelievable & utterly remarkable. If you had to own only one watch, this would be thee one! Trust me on this. Cheers PS. If anything, these pics can be used as reference images for all you modding maniacs.
  4. I would save your money if I was you. At least with a DW, you can add OEM parts here & there. By the way, I have also seen quite a few Rolexes with the same strap as yours... A perfect and historically correct strap! Cheers
  5. I have decided that I will remain with the aviator/pilot theme... So today I strapped on this fine WWII specimen. The case is solid silver, with a diameter of 42mm. Nice and large, but not too large. In essence, it is very wearable, and it does not look like a hockey puck attached to the wrist
  6. I am tickled pink to see a new movement emerge from the underworld. Interesting stuff. I look forward to a slew of new & interesting reps.
  7. Hey Freddy333, that is a very nice watch. I would like to pair up my Daytona with a strap like that some day. It is very classic looking. Cheers
  8. Old is best. Once again... Richemont is ridiculous (on all fronts).
  9. The reps in Vietnam are ripoffs. The place in Hanoi is interesting though since the dude has been making fake military watches for many years now. Some look pretty good. I have no idea where the fella got his 'knowledge'. Perhaps from the rare Imai's military watch books and Konrad Kinrim's German Military Watches. Weird world.
  10. After u get your replacement screws, I highly recommend that you use a semi-permanent threadlock. You will not lose them anymore. Make sure that you use the semi-permanent stuff, not the permanent version. You want to be able to change straps
  11. Happy Birthday!!!!!!!! :drunk: :drunk:
  12. Woke up this morning and once again, I could not decide what to wear. So, in the end, I put this one on my wrist and I am very glad I did. Watch info: - Marathon Navigator Steel Wristwatch Dated September 1990 - Benrus Type 1 hands & dial
  13. Fantastic news! You know I would love to participate!!!
  14. Nanuq: I love it! One fine day... I've got to get a pre-5512/3. That slim case profile makes me go crazy!
  15. Personally, I prefer the leather strap, it is very "chronograph" looking. Nice watch, by the way.
  16. Killer watch. I love the Seiko divers. They are superb watches. I've got a few of them.

    New Inge

I dig the ceramic and the power reserve. Thumbsup!
  18. More info on the straps: - The 6265 strap is thick buffalo grained leather NOS from the 60s. There is a Rolex buckle attached to this strap. The thick strap works great with the smallish size of the 6265. - The 1675 strap is a soft leather strap. It is quite thin, making it work well with the ligher weight of the GMT. - The 5513 strap is a genuine thick rubber Tropic brand NOS strap, also from the 1960s. It has a grained finish. This also has a Rolex buckle.
  19. You gotta have at least a 2.8 strapped onto your DSLR. For zoom indoor action, I use my 135 2.8 lens. On my cropped sensor XTi, it is equivalent to 216mm. Alternatively, I use my 85mm 1.8 (= 136mm). It also helps to have a DSLR so that there is less noise if you shoot at an ISO higher than 400. Most of time, for indoor stuff, I use the EF-S 17-55mm 2.8 since it's got Image Stablization. I'm able to handhold shots at 1/15 sec and they're razor sharp. Big advantage IMHO.
  20. All praises go to your fine taste & Flav's exquisite talents! Incredibly lovely watch!!
