What a difference a crystal can make It is not the first time for me but it always amaze me how good these gen crystals look. Probably my pics don't tell you what I see and feel but to give you an idea, this watch went from a cheap rep to a gen feel and look rep. What you think guy's, any need for an other dial? Will change hands, because the hour hand is missing a part (came this way LOL)

Thanks guy's. I think I will first wait for the gen T39 crystal I bought today to see how the MBW dail looks underneath it. The Dial has already been relumed with nice light ivory color.

I am building a nice 1665 ( at least I hope ). I have a MBW 1665 modified with ETA 2846, gen insert, gen crown. Hopefully I will have a gen T39 crystal soon. Now I just relumed dial and hands of the original MBW making it look good allready but.... It probably can go much better. So my question is what dial would you go for if you where in the same situation I am in?

A short update on the second build. The SA3135 is a pain in the A$$. The stem broke twice! And the datewheel sucks too. Thans to Domi it is fixed again but I still need an other datewheel. Does any one have a spare one? I bought gen Tritium hands for this build and I shaved the lugs on the ST case to look more gen. Here are some first pics Opinions please :-)) And if anybody has that date wheel pease let me know.

Who to ask to drill lug holes in thw TC case in the EU?

Here is mine with the TC case. Indeed, the lugs on the ST case are fat and the same for the crown guards.

Thanks guy's. Yes, I would like to keep it as an early 16610 with Tritium dial/hands. Thanks for the bracelet tips. Any comments on the hands? I am so anal about hands, would like to know your opinion. Just changed the case to a TC case, did not like the ST case, will be for sale soon :-) Only need to drill the lug holes on the TC case.

I am allmost done. Need a bracelet. What would be best? Hands? Need your opinion on the relumed Sean hands I used. I think I will go the gen way.

Welcome! To get a cost effective 5513 case you can use the Joshua 5512/5513 sub with 21j movement. I don't think it will come with a 2824 but probably he can sell you one with 2836 movement. You can use that movement for your build, easier than finding a Cannon pinned #4 2824 (allthough TC is offering one right now) and the stem height will be correct and you will get the right movement spacer. Since the Joshua accepts gen style parts It is a cheap, good base to start your build. It is nown for its too short crown guards though, so you will have to work on that aswell. Second choise would be a MBW 5513, better crown guards, 2836 movement with all the advantages of above. A lot more expensive and harder to get.

Look what dial Matt had for me. Very nice, thanks a lot Matt. (don't have it yet but hopefully next week). Now I have material to build two 16800's. Movements: Y3135 and A3135 (serviced by Domi). Cases: WM9 V1, Euromariner, TC 16610 and ST 3135. Crystals Gen (non LEC) and Clark (non LEC) Inserts Gen Lumi and Gen Tritium Dials: Gen tritium original and Gen tritium relumed. Both matt with WG surroundings. Bezel: TC 2x, WM9 V3, Euromariner, one unkown. Hands: Sean relumed to match dials Crowns: Gen with clark tube, TC or WM9 or Euromariner with standard tube. Bracelets: None so far. Now what would be the best combination? I know both will be a sort of hybrid because I don't have a 16800 case (yet, will order one this month). One will be using the ST 3135 case, gen original tritium dial, gen original tritium insert insert, TC bezel, gen crystal, gen crown Y3135 or A3135 (don't know which one I have to take) and Sean relumed hands. Don't know about the other one, I think I will try to fit and see what fits best where.
