  1. Yes, some of them do. (please don't bid on the one that is for sale on the bay right know ;-) I hope to call it mine soon)
  2. Sounds like a fantastic project/build when finished. I don't think there is a difference between the MBW 5513 and 1680 besides the engraving. The pearl was made from epoxy and lume and about 15 try outs LOL.
  3. Thank you very much.
  4. Hi, I have some gen tubes for subs laying around. The last time I tried using one I found out that a normal 3mm tap does not work. Can anyone point me out to the correct tap? Thanks in advance.
  5. Thanks a lot. Yes the Tritium dial still glows, not much though but enough to see it in complete darkness.
  6. OK, I cannot stay behind those beautiful 5513 builds. I must admit mine is not as nice but on the other side it did not break the bank! Still waiting for my josh 5513 case so I used a MBW 1680 L series case to get going (had to strip my 1680 for this ) Build is as follow: - MBW 1680 case - Gen dial (with some WABI) - MBW original crown - Yuki hand set - 2836-2 movement (will be replaced with a slow beat once the case is there) - Cousins insert with home made pearl, vintagized - Bracelet, 93150 with 580 end pieces - WSO T19 crystal (needed a lot of work to fit) Some pictures: Thanks for looking.
  7. Hi Nick, Just sent you a PM. Would love to buy one from you.
  8. Damn, I wish I never sold that MBW 5513 case. I have a similar build just waiting for a case. Great build B. Wear it in good health.
  9. Well, not to me :-(. It always takes 4 to 6 weeks when shipped via the UK.
  10. Does someone have a spare Josh 5512/5513 in the EU? I'm looking for one but can't wait 6 weeks till Josh delivers! I have a gen dial, a 5513 with WG surroundings on the indexes, ready to go in it.
  11. Most of you will probably know that I bought this watch from the sale corner a couple of day's agoo. I still don't have it but I did some research on the dial and to me it looks pretty close to a feet first red sub dial. I have no better picture than this att. It looks like a feet first closed 6 dial. I would say it is a 73/74 dated dial. The L seems to be placed correct and the red " submariner" looks to be correct in size as well. Even the luminous indexes (dots, triangle) seem to have the correct size. Please note that I am no expert at all but I'm trying to learn/see the tells. Can anyone tell me what the source is/was of this dial and what its flaws are?? Here is a gen to compare:
  12. I don't know if a gen or clark crystal will fit. But if it does, changing the crystal and crown and some aging of the bezel insert will give you a very niche watch for less than 400 USD. You can even considering reluming dial and hands and aging the dial to give it a more vintage, worn look. So for you to decide how franken you want to go! I agree on the others that this is as much franken I would go with this watch as a base watch.
  13. Looking good E. Love the faded insert.
  14. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Yes, in that matter it is disappointing. It certainly is not a 1:1 copy of the real 1675. To sum it up: -Bezel is like a submariner bezel -Bezel construction is gen like but with wrong dimension -A gen crystal will not fit -Crown is 6mm -CG are wrong all the way -Case is to thick -No 1.2mm lug holes -Thick applied lume (real thick!) -Wrong case back, from a submariner +It is the best out of the box 1675 (unfortunately) +No Date written on the dial +After modding it looks OK (to me at least) +Nice Jubilee bracelet Besides all the negatives it is still a nice watch (after modding) to wear.
  16. Yes, you are right. Yours has an 5.3mm crown and mine does have a 6mm crown. (of coarse the one on yours is the correct size)
  17. Thanks for the compliment. Sure it looks like a 1675 just not for 100% Next 1675 I build will be based on a Josh 1655 and with a WSO bezel and a gen dial.
  18. Yep, imo it is a gen.
  19. Hmm, not a fan of super domed glas but it looks good on the Tudor.
  20. Yes, it is one of the nicest rolex models out there. I measured the case, without case back, crystal and bezel. Its thickness is 5.5mm (my mbw 1680 measures 5mm)
  21. I don't know for sure. Looks like the same thickness of my mbw 1680. If someone can tell me the thickness it should have I can measure it.
  22. On Friday I got the new 1675 from Josh. I decided to give it some vintage love. First, I don't think it is an easy rep to work on. The crystal and bezel are gen like but have other dimensions. A gen crystal or bezel won't fit without heavy modding and custom parts. The bezel is more like the one on a sub than on a 1675, I shaved mine to a thinner diameter. The case back is from a sub, I changed mine to a correct one. Lug holes need to be drilled, that is what I did on mine. The lume on the dial is very strong but applied very thick (high on the dial), not very gen like. I relumed my dial and hands. The CG are nothing like a 1675 but can be chaved to look decent. Here it is: Thanks for looking.
  23. Very nice, your effort has been rewarded.
  24. I have bought it allready! It is in transit to me. I payed 125€ and did not realy expect it to be gen for the money but the seller still claimes it is a gen.
