  1. Not doubting that they check serial numbers to see if they match, but I thought they didn't service vintage pieces anymore.
  2. Really? Or is this more of the rep dirty politics?
  3. Z I thought you liked vodka, that looks a bit off if it is vodka... Thank or there is too much red bull in the vodka... Aventinus is by far the best beer I have ever had.
  4. Might be a bit low end for some of you guys but I recently got these Phiaton MS 200 buds and I love them. They are really flat across the range and have enough bass without drowning out the mids and highs.
  5. Ok that makes some sense. I am thinking of a 16800 build in my future and I too like lume on my dials and was not fond of a gen tritium dial that I would relume.
  6. Just shave in the shower like I do. You can shave, shampoo and wizz if you really need to. Just let us all know so if there is a GTG at your house we won't use your shower!
  7. Ha, sounds all fine and nostalgic until you try it! For my wedding we groomsmen decided to "male bond" over at the barber shop by getting the works, hot towel and shave. I have never had a belt sander to the face before but I am certain that what my face felt like after the straight blade shave is not far from it. Luckily the bleeding stopped and the redness subdued in time for the ceremony, never again!
  8. Looking good! I need to clean out my workspace too but have t gotten around to it.
  9. Looks good Tony, congrats and wear proudly!
  10. Thanks sneed! Nanuq - my clumsy fingers are what fouled the keyless up in the first place. It did take me about 1.5 hours to do the whole thing.
  11. Ok, got the tool kit from Offshore and had some time this morning to look at the keyless works. I took it apart and put it back together, twice... The first time I did not pay close enough attention and didn't get the clutch lever into the clutch. Second time I got it and the watch is back together running, got the hands back on and date is changing at 3 minutes after midnight, not bad for first time watch "repair". Now my problem is that the manual wind is not working, everything else is so for now I'm happy to be able to wear this watch after a few weeks of it being out of rotation. Any ideas on what I did? I figure I'll just need to redo the keyless works again but if experts have pointers on what I missed I'd appreciate it. Thanks RWG!!!
  12. On another topic one poster said the standard dwo on the carel watches was 0.004in. I don't know this for a fact but the thinner the better is what I've heard. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/150660-vintage-dwos/page-3#entry1228652
  13. Hey fxrandy thanks for the reply, I actually found a file that jmb posted some time back that has the font that I like. I just don't have a clue on where to get a blank to print it on. http://www.rwgforum.net/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=71787
  14. I am trying to source an open 6 & 9 dwo to no avail. I am thinking of just making one myself. Can anyone tell me what is best material to use as the dwo? I figure I can try my luck at printing one myself but just need a start. Thanks.

    Greed

You know, it is greed on the buyers side just as it is on the sellers side. The buyer is greedy for the pristiege to have a vintage watch and the buyer is just more than willing to clean up by selling a high priced part.
  16. +1, I had a similar issue with my c-sub a d PB was able to fix it right as rain for me!
  17. Well it looks like it has been put thru some torture for sure, it's not my look so to each their own. Not certain how natural that aging looks, usually sapphire watches fair much better on the inside, maybe a bit of lume yellowing or gadding of the dial due to UV exposure. Looks like you put the parts in a cement mixer and then put it back together.... Let one of the aging experts weigh in and they can let you know.
  18. Bumpity bump bump.... Figure the two guys with bikes for avitars should be the designated bumpers...
  19. I have a gen Link Chrono and love it, I would love to get a cal 36. Tag definately is pushing boundaries with some of their latest watches. Meanwhile rolex is just releasing a new bezel color... (which I do like btw)
  20. Really? Huge eyes? Come on now, I would have thought you to be a sportier fellow then that...
