This is what happens when something becomes mainstream, no? If you've noticed, there was a lady in here looking for a rep of a 40k AP for her 16 year old son. Will either of them ever be part of our community? No. People know this exists and it has been made safe and easy so now the expectations are high because a lot of the senior members were able to change the scene for the better.

I'm not entirely sure, but I do know this. If I had the choice between the two I would go ETA and not the clone. At least if I ever had to sell there would be some extra value there. If you look at the previously owned watches for sale here, there is always a premium for Swiss ETA.

Probably just a piece of mind. I different for us where this is a hobby compared to her just wanting a show piece and perhaps never seeing her again. Probably saves from the watch dying at some point and her not figuring out why.

I have not been able to find that crazy hours anywhere. It makes me sad inside.

They are obviously not going to honor it, and they don't have to honor it. Pretty much any company dealing in ecommerce has disclaimers that will say this.

Sometimes you'll notice on the listings that there are size difference, the material may be different, they use normal mineral crystal instead. the way I look at it is that if you're going to go the cheap route, just buy a cheap gen watch. When your Tag watch is completely off what the gen should be and one day you run into someone wearing a gen, you'l feel pretty silly when they notice. I saw someone wearing a quartz rolex the other day. It's when they look over at yours and see the sweeping hand, they don't feel like playing millionaire any more..

Have been trying to decide for the last month whether I should get the Swiss ETA UPO or the Chrono UPO. I already have a sub, so i don't want to be too similar, but I need either or.

That doen't look like it has factory bar ends or tail fairing, so I would say the bike has probably been dropped. The GSXR is probably going to be a lot nicer even though it's older. On girl bikes look out to see if it's been lowered because that could put wear on the suspension, and look for damage, or swapped parts as they are usually dropped a lot. Generally make sure it starts up quick, doesn't smoke, doesn't ping, clunk and rattle.. see if it has it's services and the mileage. What do you ride now?

Just spend a few bucks, buy a new battery and see if that's the case. It's the first step that really should be taken.

Reminds me of when I went to get gas the other day and the guy behind the counter looked 16 and had 3cu diamonds in each of his ears. I believe a replica only looks real if it's plausible. To you and your son it's a replica of a $20,000 watch, to everyone else it's a kid with a weird looking $100 timex, and anyone that you're trying to fool knows better if you're not rolling up in a Bentley. So then at that point you're spending a lot of money just to fool yourself, and it's so hard to fool yourself when you know the truth.
