  1. Some women find the SD too heavy. Wait until you guys see the SSD franken Duke is getting.
  2. Martin, I hope you're soon better brother! Slow down your breast stroke when swimming. You're not like Spitz anymore.
  3. Changed to the 16610 today. There are some watches that just feel right.
  4. Life's pendulum swings from one end to the next. Stay in the mid-point area and hang around the forum.
  5. I would love to get my hands in a MM
  6. The dial is excellent, but not really necessary. You already have a decent dial.
  7. The TC hands are better IMHO. The Clark's hands are good, but the lume is not as bright. Cheaper also.
  8. The more I look at it, the more I like it. Justin, you need to crank out more cases man. E
  9. Tanks guys. CC, your Sub is inspiration for my next build for next year.
  10. Thanks Woof! Loving the 5512! I think this is the first wristy's threat I start.
  11. Good choice. I have the PT 7836 with modified end links on mine and it feels perfect. Still looking for the right fit end links. Did the transplant on mine just in time for my birthday. Serviced 7734 movement Correct 45min counter Much better minute hand (matched to the hour hand) from the gropu buy. Although the hour hand on the DW kit was better IMHO Better seconds and minute counter hands waiting for the black 7031 bakelite bezel to swap the 128 crystal onto it The case was re-softened and water tested still good for 5ATM+ which is more than ok for me on a Chrono. I could not wait to finish it as I wanted to wear it on my b-day Much happier with the watch overall. Now if I could find the right size stem......
  12. Gen 2 of my Monte is ready just in time for my birthday. I know. the chrono big hand is off by a second, I'm ok with that.
  13. No wonder the case looks so good. The 5517 stamping on the lug is a nice touch also. E
  14. Both very nice. I miss having a 5517(One of the very first reps I had). Toomuch, is that also from PT? E
  15. After a few hours(more like 45) I reshaped the lug profile to be a little flatter. This was about two months ago. Tonight between 10 year old rum and no sleep I decided to lower the top of the lugs profiles. My goal was to get it as close to an early 5513 case as i could. The case came with lower sides than the average 1665 into 5514 cases out there. Thus far I have changed from the crown it came with(decent 704 copy) to a 702 crown and tube, to an early 703 long coronet crown and tube. The 702 lost the ability to hold the stem. Old age I guess. I have another 702 crown, but I was saving that one for the 5512 Gilt project, or maybe just the Monte. Top profile of the lugs changed. Still need to finish the top and buff the sides. The lug holes have been chamfered and the case back lost the number and added some aging as well. Still need to buff it to a high shine still. Somehow they look huge in these pictures. The case as is is completely water resistant with the "working" HEV. The Yuki bezel assembly was such a blessing. Thanks Lions'. I may change the crystal to a service T19 a la Ubi'. Did I not go far enough? Too far? Total hours on the case with CG mod'ding, fitting, refitting and polishing and sanding over 100 hours. I know it seems excessive, but this is my stress reliever. (edit) Pardon the light. The pictures were taken with the phone. Comparison of the case with the "MBW" 1665 case profile and at the bottom a nice SSD V2 case I am still working on.
  16. Best bet is to source another rotor. Simple fix and in the interim you can manually wind it. E
  17. On the other hand I had to modify and rebrush some WSO 501 "b" end links. I ended up chugging them for 580 units that fit my 16610 gen spec case better. Sanded off the 580 markings and will wait for gen units. I think the b designation has to do mostly with the bracelet used, rather than the case.
  18. Yes. That is correct. Make sure you remove the crystal retainer first.
  19. Pictures speak a million words
