Wow this is an old thread mate, yes they are, at least the rep ones I've taken apart are they do take some pulling apart but as Dizzy advised pair of grips either side and your sorted before you know it ! Just take out the screw before you start

I've thought about this before and decided against selling my collection of reps, sold quite a few mind you and atm I'm hovering around the 25 mark 16 of which are reps, mostly Rolex/Tudor builds that quite simply I couldn't afford to have if they were all Gen.

Been reading this thread since it started and I gotta say the guys above have it bang on Horse's for course's as far as the more outlandish franken pieces go, all you do when you build these pieces is limit the market they will appeal to if and when you need to sell them, Modded or hard to find pieces are the same, sometimes I've paid a really cheap price for gen parts other times I had to pay more, but I do try to find what I need at the right money, the build I'm trying to source parts for is more realistically priced for me that way, however that process can take what seems like an age to complete........all part of the fun of this hobby

Had the exact same thing yesterday with a buckle of all things just got a Gen strap for my SoA but thought my rep buckle would fit, no such luck so used an old 18mm I had was fine till I went to take it off then clasp went flying across the room, just caught it in time before it hit the floor.........................must have been my spidey sense kicking in as Micky rightly said good springbars are a must and you can't get much better than Gen can you, if no bracelet then using a nato is fail safe I suppose

Pretty sure Rolex only made up to 18mm but could be wrong I have a couple of these Yuki buckles and I have to say they aren't bad at all, fits in with some of my straps and nato I already have too

Had this numerous times myself, honestly I've just absorbed the monies but will adjust from now on
