To be honest, I was also surprised. Especially as dials were earlier stopped for QC issues, but guess stress of irritated PMs and draining of funds made him open the control gates... Those mega fat font indices on my 202a doesn't look good at all unfortunately. A strip and redo could make the dial acceptable - let's see what I'll do (yes, also awaiting rolli)...
I always find it a shame when ambitious and talented guys like Steph takes on something (in the best interest of the forum) that proves to be too much to chew. SD - if you're reading this I'd still like to say thanks: all these dials didn't turn out as great as you wanted (high variation) but you did try to make a difference! Appreciate that.
Some pics of my 202a non-matching dial, some variation to what posted from Grimlocktime especially regarding lume application:

Flash on, general apologies re pic quality - hope they at least tell something about these dials
Looks like you have all the right ingredients there. Nice touch with the gen tropic! Will you be reluming/aging the dial or are you going for a "fresh from the factory" look?
Easy to come by... Good description mate
Iirc, our paths first crossed when I saw your rework on a wso bezel (getting them to have the more "pointy V" shape to match mkI). Fun thing is that the gen case (1.74 mil) also matches the dial - as well as the separately bought caseback. As you said, stacking parts is like strolling into Walmart...
^^^Wow, really looking forward seeing that JoeyB!
These old GMTs sure have a special allure about them. Have promised myself "no more vintage Rolex builds" - but thi might just be what makes me break that promise...
