  1. That dial is probably the ugliest I've ever seen, sorry for saying so!
  2. Not sure about authenticity of the midcase, but like the slim profile, softened creases and the lug holes. But all in all, very strange mix here. How much did you pay on ebay?
  3. Isn't that the sought after untouched patina, that's so sought after these days? After sent in to service, the ratty hands and dials end up in franken builds while the owners cry all the way to the bank with the two words "service lumi" ringing in their heads. No, but seriously - wouldn't new o-rings and greasing solve most of the waterproofing issues or are "all" old watches to give up on in that sense (say passing >=10atm/100m)?
  4. "please look at picture close because as watch is moving, guy in back is doing it with lady"
  5. Insert was a great upgrade - you were lucky to find one! Would only consider upgrading the crown to Athaya 702.
  6. There's nothing I love more then when guys here take something fairly cheap and crappy and transform it. This is right up there in the hall of fame of such transformations. Fantastic work!
  7. Off topic, but I have an NDT dial in my 1680 that I like. No experience of their 1665 offerings.

  9. True shame that he is like he is, best would be someone better taking over business. A lot of frustration sensed in this thread...
  10. That insert looks awesome!!
  11. April 1st today? You could always post a WTB for a ready assembled/modded/franken 1680 in your wanted price range.
  12. Already thought he was actually, but then congrats now!
  13. Hmm, seems not to be the only strange thing happening to the forum just now... Can't see a couple of posts and many unreads in log. Admin?
  14. 6541 on Yuki bracelet in the sun
  15. Superb looking 6154, enjoy and get well soon!
  16. Sounds great, high class assistance from JJ and Matt! Looking forward seeing the results of the transformation
  17. How does the bezel look like?
  18. Great to hear! Dial swap is straightforward, 1016 dials fit right into 160x. Dial feet positions are the same for Rolex 15xx movements, so gen spec dials fit in without cutting feet. If using eta, just get movement ring from eg rafflestime and preferrably use better rep dial (ev have it relumed/aged). Service gen 1016 dials pop up every now and then and are not that expensive. Also on our forums, scan sales sections. Earlier gilts are much more $$$$, shoot me a PM if you need some contacts to try out.
