  1. Now that you mention it, it does resemble a Chopard caseback- nice observation...Best, Arty
  2. Planet Ocean- but when it comes to Apogaum watches, 'just say no'. I'm out the door right now, but I could tell three horror stories and post pics that would make you think twice about ordering one. Good luck, Arty
  3. This is still 'super-glued' to my wrist, and is keeping perfect time since I received it on Monday... Ciao, Arty
  4. HFC- I really like that watch! I'll bet you have done some research about the Gen that it was modeled after (if there was one)- care to share? Wear it well, Arty
  5. Thanks Victoria. I wonder why it works for me? Can anyone else see it? I'll try this: Best regards, Arty
  6. This just arrived after being 'stuck in customs' for the past several weeks, I think I like it... Ciao, Arty
  7. Oh, that's just awful. If you're going to wear a watch that's that fugly, at least be able to offer a reason why it is that way. Case and point- this Romain Jerome is available for $7800- $173,000 USD since it uses steel from the sunken 'Titanic'. I wouldn't wear it either, but I guess it would make a great conversation piece! Good evening, Arty
  8. I think this one will do for today... Best to all, Arty
  9. It was a nightmare. We were evacuated, and my wife and I stayed with my Uncle in Oakland. When we returned, our house was fine, but two of my nearby neighbors had $100,000+ damage to their homes. Lots of talk about permanent scars to the island, but I think we will recover in time. Thanks for asking, Arty
  10. Aww, you're killing me avitt. Beautiful holy grail you've got there! Arty
  11. Waiting for an Explorer II white dial from a secret self-trusted source- will post pics when it arrives. Until then it's this one for the weekend, older pic from earlier this month... Hope your Dad is doing better VB. My close step Mom is in the hospital hanging on by a thread, I know how you must feel. Ciao, Arty
  12. I'll stick with this until I get tired of the strap... ...then I'll switch to this- ...and 'wind up' the weekend with this- Best to all! Arty
  13. Those are good, and one is too. Just received as a gift... Has different views of crystals, pictures of original owner's manuals, different bracelets, movement reference numbers, and tons of other stuff. Ciao, Arty
  14. Freddy- Where did this come from? I ordered one from Josh but with screw-down pushers and arrived with a blue-ish glass crystal not plexi, a blackened coronet logo on the dial instead of silver, not to mention the bottom pusher fell out. I also forgot to check the case dimensions- the gen is 37 or 38mm, Josh's is 40mm. How does this one compare with regards to those details? Thanks, Arty
  15. Vb- One of my co-workers knows that I wear (what appear to be) expensive watches every day. He asked me why I did, since cell phones and other electronic devices many people carry, can provide the correct time at any given moment. For me, it boils down to something a famous radio personality said once- maybe Paul Harvey- that if you pay more than $30 (?) for a wristwatch, you are buying it to be worn as jewelry. I know you're a PAM enthusiast, but wouldn't Sienna have looked better in that photo (other than the underwear) if she was wearing one of these? Best, Arty
  16. Joshua's 5517 on different straps. This one last evening- ...this one today- ...and this one tomorrow- Best to all, Arty
  17. I saw that a few weeks ago and was intrigued by it's history and accompanying paperwork. I just didn't like the look of the watch though. Here is one that continues to not sell on the bay, probably because of the price- but more for the non-original dial. I feel it is a superior looking timepiece; with an interesting story at the very least. I'm not sure if this link will work so here is a pic of the watch first... ...and now the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-Vintage-Oyster-C...1QQcmdZViewItem Best to all- Arty
  18. Think I'll go back to this one for a couple days...
  19. I'll go with this gen for the remainder of the weekend- Ciao, arty
  20. I get a kick out of this, although I have no idea where it originated...
  21. Yachtie hasn't left my wrist since Andrew so graciously replaced it the other day...Ciao, arty
  22. I'm sure it's nice, albeit too expensive, but without pics, for all we know it looks as good as this rep...C'mon, we'll be gentle!
  23. I don't get it- shouldn't that red sub dial be complimented with magnification for the date? Very nice either way... Best, Arty
