  1. Very satisfying!!!!! The more worried they are the better I feel.
  2. The dial should sit in a recess in the bezel so that might also be the problem but certainly the spacer should not sit deeper than the movt.
  3. Marco - that spacer ring is too deep. The dial is not meant to fit inside it so the ring need some material removing to make it shallower. Bring it with you for sure!!!
  4. Have you looked at the sellers feedback - he's full of [censored]!! I like the way he mixes pics of the gen and rep!!!
  5. And it has the China 6497 - another ebay scammer tries it on - might have to notify the bidders on this.
  6. Nothing wrong with the bends you can see. To describe the problem in simple terms it seems that the balance spring is positioned so that it is touching the underside of the balance [censored] (I think). I have one of these movts which so far is fine but has only been running for a week or so.
  7. I have found that there are many light fingered people working for DHL - it's probably been nicked which is not really the dealers fault. I have never had problems with EMS.
  8. We'll soon have more PAM fans here than the Paneraisiti!! Welcome.
  9. Welcome and please remember the golden rules when using Paypal for your purchases.
  10. The Balance [censored] is the plate that the swan neck is screwed to. There is an excellent site here with all sorts of technical explanantions. http://www.cwrnh.com/techpages/Balance.htm
  11. That Pie Pan Constellation has always been a favourite of mine especially with a black dial!! What on earth is the Phinney Walker? I assume in normal life it was not meant for the wrist!!
  12. It could easily be done with a dremel etc but I don't think you will manage with a CC cloth, and yes you could do it without removing them but you need to be able to thoroughly clean everything afterwards..
  13. Certainly not in the current catalogue - it's based on the Ingenieur series.
  14. The tip of the lever needs shortening and rounding a little - easy if you hava a dremel and costs nothing. The hands are cheap too and already superlumed so another instant upgrade. Also polishing the pushers is not difficult.
  15. I could not agree more with everything you have said. I have been a member here for a long time and I have never PM'd you once for any reason. The server down time was frustrating but one of those things - no big deal, we all know it would not be a permanent situation! Very sorry that you felt it necessary to have to voice these concerns but at least it now spells it out for everyone. This is certainly not the place to sort out disputes with dealers or members unless it is to warn others of a genuine rogue trader/member. Maybe the dealers should consider some sort of vetting procedure before taking orders from members unless they have a minimum of say 30 posts as a way of removing the ignorant noob element. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this Admin - I know what it is like answering PM's and emails - it can take me several hours each day sometimes just to do that and I only get a fraction of what you must get each day.
  16. Not true - PAM's are only coated on the inside and a standard Mag Flouride coat will eventually scratch and wear off. You will get Newtons rings when you coat a sapphire crystal with a glass cyclops as the coating recipe for sapphire is not compatible with glass. Another reason to coat after attaching the sapphire cyclops is because the glue that holds it on will not works as well if the crystal is coated first. All of mine will have the new cyclops fixed then AR'd on the inside only.
  17. You have to laugh at that - I wonder how much he paid to be able to lift that baby!!
  18. Actually I just realised these are old shots and I had only changed the hour hand and I also have polished chrono pushers as they should also be - so take no notice!!
  19. That's not fair - I thought HF was very good in .......er........you know.........what's it called..............oh well.
  20. Got a little tip for you here - get a set of Davidsens PAM 188 hands and swap the minute and hour hands for them - instant improvement. Also grind down the end of that CG lever as well - then super lume it. Here's a pic of mine which I bought some 8 months ago when the swiss version first came out.
  21. Vintage BP for me - everything else is too small!
  22. Hook, line and sinker - it never fails!!!
  23. Just watching TV while posting here etc and Airforce One is on - I have never seen it before and now I realise why!! What a total crock of [censored] - Hollywood at it's absolute and total worst. Harrison Ford must be proud of that on his CV!! Guess it's just another way to keep the motgage payments going for those actors!! For anyone that cares Michael Caton Jones is a patient at our surgery and he said that he only made Basic Instinct 2 to pay the bills and that Sharon Stone was a total [censored] to work with (but don't quote me as I'll deny it!!)
