  1. I like the Seiko, too. Great looking watch, great quality and affordable, too.
  2. LOL, gotta do some rotating. This little guy was feeling left out. [emoji1]
  3. I'm very sorry for your losses, too. I can't even begin to imagine the pain of losing your partner in crime after so many years, not to mention both parents. [emoji20]
  4. First we have "Son of Phong" and now we have "Daughter of Phong." Sounds like a good start to a 1940s scary movie! [emoji1] [emoji12]
  5. Yes, think about that for a minute. A budget build, meaning cheap parts for a fake watch. That's not to say that budget builds don't play an important part of this hobby, but it's not like you were working on someone's gen Rolex. Jeez.
  6. Sweet! I can't wait to see it finished. Where do you live again? I'll happily sign for the package while you are away. I promise to take good care of it for you until you get back! [emoji1] [emoji106]
  7. This is what a Pam would look like on me. [emoji12]
  8. It is an awful situation, made worse by the fact that other forum members are dealing with the recent theft from the watchsmith Rex over on RG. Similar to the MD2020 fiasco here. And then that forum member was recently slandering you on some of the boards. I'd send the email out. Anyone with half a sense of decency and compassion will understand. Hang in there.
  9. That really is indeed nice work. That double red SD dial is amazing. I like that the dial now has texture to it. And look at that Tudor dial...
  10. A member over on RWI pointed me to these. He said they are fantastic bars, so I decided to give them a try. I only have my Yukis as a comparison, so I'll let you know how they compare once they arrive. I guess a big problem with cheap bars is the internal springs are just weak enough that the pins don't fully extend. You don't even notice it unless you get out a caliper and compare to gen. I should really get one! http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Fat-20mm-Spring-Bar-for-Rolex-Submariner-5513-Sea-Dweller-1655-1665-RL-SB6-/400904811191?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d57c9f2b7 How much are the Startime bars? Do you have to have an account to purchase them? I had read recently that they stopped selling parts to regular people.
  11. I love the 1675 but I'm a little intimidated by the build. These are tough builds to get right, just because the crown guard shape is so tricky. Are you trying to build a pointed crown guard cornino, or a regular one? I only ask because those cartel crown guards are awful out of the box. It is going to take a lot of work to grind and sand them into an accurate shape for either version. I suppose you said 1976 so that means a regular 1675. I should have looked closer! [emoji1] A lot of people are taking the 1655 Exp II and using that case as the starting point. You can sell the bezel, dial and hands from it to recoup some of the cost. I don't know if that cg shape is any better as a starting point, but there is something about the 1655 case that is causing people to use it as the base for a 1675.
  12. @sasa408 your wristies are always so crisp and amazing looking. I always look forward to seeing your pics! [emoji2] [emoji106]
  13. Cool. I'll try it. How do you keep the water from sliding off if the camera is held vertically or at an angle? I can see that working if you hold it completely flat above the subject you are photographing.
  14. I am truly sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathies to you and your family during this difficult time. I'm glad you were able to see her last week and spend some final moments with her before her passing. Many people do not get the chance to say good bye to their loved ones.
  15. Slowly but surely. Thanks! I ordered new WSO 580 endlinks and better springbars for it. Next on the list is a new crystal. I'm a huge fan of the T19. I'm also compiling photos of red dials to email over to Dazza to see if he can help me with my dial. The one that @cc33 has is stunning. He's been gracious enough to send me some pics of his. [emoji106] [emoji2]
  16. If it is from ~1972 you'll have to arm wrestle me for it! [emoji1] [emoji12]
  17. Wow! I like the one showing the coronet!
