  1. Cool. I'll look into popcorn time for sure, but I think my best bet for this other thing is to PM Tomhorn and cc33 about it. This was a different site, sort of like a torrent for streaming, but not really like that. Hard for me to describe because I had never heard of it before and just figured I would look it up in the morning and then Google it, but the thread was nuked before I could even come back to it. It literally streams everything out there for free. Tomhorn and cc33, plus another member all contributed super helpful info because they use this setup themselves. Thanks for the popcorn time tip.
  2. Hey guys, the other day a scammer came out of the woodwork and posted here. The thread quickly took a different turn, however, and some very cool advice was shared about streaming video before the thread got nuked. I was reading it on my phone at night and didn't have a chance to make any notes about the streaming app you guys are using or the hardware setups you have. I can't access the thread now. Could someone help refresh my memory? It is a streaming app or site that aggregates movies and shows into a searchable database. Apparently everything is there, too. It even works with Xbox and other devices. @Tomhorn and @cc33 I believe you both have hardware setups using this, if I'm remembering correctly. I really want to look into this. Thanks for the insights!!
  3. There are some amazing pics in that thread! I love the 6542! One of my grail pieces.
  4. Dayum, you guys seriously need to do a photo shoot when both of these pieces are finished. People are gonna cry mutiny if you don't, and I'll be leading the charge! [emoji1] [emoji12]
  5. I'm ordering up a pair of the WSO 580 endlinks as we speak. I'm looking forward to being able to finally use gen spec 2mm bars with my steel bracelet on my 1680. @droptopman - what kind of tweaking did you need to do to them?
  6. Fantastic! That is awesome that the bezel is produced in a similar fashion so that you can "wear through" the top layer like that. You should post a build thread when you have more of your parts back so we can admire the progress. Great inspiration for us young, padawans. I'm itching to take on one of these super builds, but it is not going to be for a while. I have to get my feet wet with some budget builds, first.
  7. @lionsandtigers - That is gorgeous. Our resident Chamfer King will make it look spectacular! Hey, I just saw this in your pic - that's too bad about your thumbnail! Ouch!!
  8. @lionsandtigers - that is beautiful. Between his case and our Chamfer King, it will be perfect! Is there a way you can brass the edges of the bezel to reproduce that worn, brass showing through look?
  9. Uff da! So maybe just matting my markers and dulling that shiny finish is all that is needed?
  10. If you click on complete watches it then takes you to the menu for all of the complete builds. You can even buy complete watch kits that are only missing the movement. My guess is they show out of stock because it is a build to order deal. They aren't going to assemble one and have it sit there, although they do have one Tudor already assembled. I'd be curious to find out opinions because I'm certainly no expert in this area, but my uneducated thought is this is a lot of money for nothing gen except a movement. Every part is Phong. Our brethren who build these super gen parts frankens are only using a couple of Phong parts - the mid case and sometimes bezel, so in the end you'd still be on the hunt for a better crown, a better dial, a better insert, hands, etc. [emoji53] If that's the case, and you are going all rep with only a gen movement, then why not go Yuki and save a few grand?
  11. @pam007 - Thank you VERY much for your insight. You really pointed me in the right direction. I appreciate it. I'm thinking a proper relume with Big Dazza might be needed for the dial and hands, too. The markers have too much going against them. They are flat, shiny, and completely smooth all at the same time. They don't have that raised and grainy/textured look that real tritium has. I think a proper relume is probably the only way to achieve this overall appearance unless there is a DIY method.
  12. Nice work, Jelliottz! I like that seconds hand and the fading on the insert. Good to see you over here. One thing I really like about RWG is the level of expertise when it comes to vintage and especially gen parts vintage franken builds. I thought HF was an amazing place for vintage pieces and then I started spending more time here. "Wow" is the only word that comes to mind. [emoji2] [emoji106]
  13. Think of it like a car dealership. You have the parts department that sells replacement parts to DIYers, and then you have the service department that performs service work for customers who want the mechanics to do the work. Same dealership, but different departments. Michael Young has two separate areas on the website that all link back together into the same home screen. [emoji2] [emoji106]
  14. Hot damn! This is beautiful. What are the specs on this one? [emoji106] [emoji2]
  15. That is beautiful and I think my wife would wear that. I'm realizing more and more that I need to contact him sooner than later! [emoji2] [emoji106]
  16. Wow. I'm sorry. What kind of recourse did you have? Did you recover any of your loss? Speaking of going off the reservation, I had 2 of my watches with MD2020 before he did the same thing. He had mine for 6 months and I was sweating bullets thinking the guy was going to keep them, but then he came through in the end and delivered as promised. Four or five months later he went rogue on everyone here. Ugh.
