Hublot Big Bang and it's movement - a cop out? Or something else?
z3k0 replied to Chronus's topic in Other Brands Area
There was already discussion about that, and I learned that gen movement is La Joux Perret movement which is basically 7750 with chrono module done by La Joux Perret. bye -
This one is really good I can't find one detail that is correct ... judging by subdials, even chrono is faux ... bye

s/s Bracelet for Tag Carrera Tachymetre Chrono
z3k0 replied to spooky driver's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
I got mine from Andrew (trusty). I think any dealer that have them in SS version can source you one. bye -
I have found some articles saying that inserting stem back into 7750 is very dangerous because of possibility of damaging keyless works. So, as I'm planning on taking apart my Carrera chrono, can someone tell me what is the correct way of inserting it back ? thanks

I just noticed my A7750 @ 28800 is refusing to hack Everything else is working like before. What can it be ?? bye, Ivan

SMP chrono have Omega 1164 caliber which is itself based on Valjoux 7750 - so you need 7750 date wheel or Omega 1164 date wheel, anything else will not do AFAIK. I don't know if it's correct font for SMP, but you can order ETA 7750 stock date wheel - "Valjoux 7750 - 2557/1 - Date Ring" from almost any online retailer, e.g. http://watchpart.co.uk/date-ring-oclock-wi...7750-p-943.html bye, Ivan
-
Well, OK, maybe it is based on 7750, but it's definitely not "7750 with transfer gears" And we can discuss can it be called 7750 or not, but I really don't want to go there ... this is rep forum after all ... bye, Ivan

My orange monster on SS just arrived, and I must say it's one fine piece of hardware It really has quality and solid feel, very nice combo of brushed and polished steel, and orange dial makes very nice contrast to all that steel. Movement is OK (so far) keeps good time. Only objection I have is that movement does not hack - I hope it should be like that I really like Day-date function, I think all watches should have it Interesting thing is that it has bi-lingual day wheel, so during process of changing day (it lasts almost two hours) you get Spanish (in my case) day for some time - which can be confusing until you realize what is happening (you can see it on the pics - SAB for sabado). I still wait for some rubber straps to arrive, so currently it's on SS bracelet. Here are some quick pics, nothing much since my light box project is still in its infancy ... One thing that really fascinates me on this watch (considering I got it for $122) is lume. It really blows away all the reps I've seen so far. Its visible even in dimly lit rooms, you don't have to be in complete darkness to see it. So, if any more dealers put up stupid question "How super is super lume" - I would say that for me this is super enough when I get some more straps, I'll post some more pics. And what else to say than - Highly recommended !! bye, Ivan

Not really - HBB uses completely different movement, it's not even ETA It uses Hublot HUB44 movement developed with La Joux-Perret. I'm really not sure any high-end watch maker would go for sunken date wheel, it really kind of sucks :yucky: It's one thing that I would never settle with - and only reason I don't own one of these beauties (rep HBBs). bye, Ivan
-
Well, yes, that was what I did ... I was just impatient to know is my movement doomed, or it is some small defect - which it was. Now it works great. Only problem I have left with my carrera is chrono hands slipping, which was present from the beginning but is now deteriorated, since chrono seconds hand started to slip ... but I guess it's well known problem with well known solutions bye, Ivan
-
If you are talking about rep it has none, at least mine As for gen, I'm not sure, but there were some posts that it is either very weak or non-existent. bye, Ivan
-
What straps go on monster 20 or 22 mm? I thought 20, but some sites that sell straps are selling 22 mm straps for it Just want to be sure, since I will probably order a strap before my arrives ... bye, Ivan
-
So, I got my Carrera chrono back from watchsmith with chaged date wheel (stock ETA, looks great ). The problem is that it slips while wearing it, whatever should hold it in place is not holding it What should be holding it in place - is there some lever or something else ? Everything else works, date can be adjusted by crown, and date changes on midnight. bye, Ivan

Thanks, I've seen that article, but it's not what I was asking for. I don't have any reps with mineral, so I was wandering is mineral glass visually inferior to sapphire, will rep with sapphire look superior to same rep with mineral - that was my point, since some dealers are offering basically same reps in mineral and sapphire versions, with price difference. bye, Ivan
-
Is there any visual difference between sapphire glass and mineral glass ? I know sapphire is much harder and much more resistant to scratches, but is there any visible difference when you look at same watch with sapphire and with mineral ? Can AR coating be applied to mineral glass ? bye, Ivan

Quick update - still nothing - FedEx still claim it's not lost but they can't find it (neither) I'll have to start making threats Thanks for all good wishes, but I'm starting to loose hope. Has any of you been in situation where courier service loose a package ? What should be done next, what rights do I have ? bye, Ivan

where is a good source for parts since ofrei is insane?
z3k0 replied to flavor flav's topic in Movement Q&A
Is there any supplier of parts that can source gen Tag Heuer parts ? I'm looking for seconds hand for my Carrera, since I have spare swiss 7750, and would like to swap A7750 with it, but am a bit scared about doing hand mod for adjusting it to swiss movement. bye, Ivan -
Jeez guys, after seeing all these pictures I had to get one for myself .... so I did manage to snatch orange on SS one for 144$ delivered which is great considering that is little more then I pay for PAMs w/asian 6497s. It should be here in some two weeks, so I'll post some pics when that happens. So next thing is to get some sporty straps - @jeff if you can give us some links to these sites you found for aftermarket straps, that would be nice There is original Seiko rubber for 25$ on ebay - is that fair price, or should I keep looking ? bye, Ivan
-
OK, no more FedEx for me Hearing all this from more experienced members, there should be sticky in noob section with warning against FedEx... I'll call them tomorrow again and stop being polite bye, Ivan

So, I ordered two watches right after CNY, 111h from King and noobmariner from Paul. King sent me tcn first, then Paul, few days apart. I started to worry when 7 days passed without change in tracking status for kings package - this is tracking status on 15th: When I called them they checked and go like - Oh,my it should have been here 7 days ago, it departed from Paris, but never arrived Then on Friday I called FedEx for second time to check if they found my package, and on same call I gave them another tcn to check my seccond package - and guess what - same story: Oh,my it departed from Paris and should have been here yesterday, but it isn't So, I guess either I have extremely bad luck, or there is some watch nazi in FedEx - "No reps for you today !" I'll keep you updated ... bye, Ivan
-
Have you removed protective transparent foil ? They all come with it on bezel. regards, Ivan
-
@kiki_hr What shipping company was it ? BTW, FedEx just informed me that they lost track of my package (my new 111h from king) It departed from paris 7 days ago, but never arrived here ... bye, Ivan
-
Well, yes, I got new 25j one, guy was even so kind to give me set of hands (not that I will use them, but ...), day wheel, even EMS shipping, for 238 US$ (180 Euro). The only problem was that I forget to mention it, so he stated full price on declaration and I ended up paying 60 Euro custom duties and taxes I guess I'll be more careful next time. Anyhow, here are some pics ... bye

I'm thinking about doing my first mod project of getting gen ETA 7750 to A7750 powered rep. So, I'm looking for good rep housing old A7750, because I don't want to go through trouble of different hand measures, since old A7750 have interchangeable hands with Swiss 7750. So, my new Carrera chrono tachy is out, waiting for some future project. I was looking at link chronos at few dealers, and just Joshua have them listed as 28800 A7750, Paul and Adrew have them listed as just A7750 - is it possible that these are really old A7750 ? If that fails next candidate is IWC GST, SS or titan, I'm not sure yet ... but for that I need black day and date wheels Any other suggestions are welcome And, yes I know that famous By-Tor guide labels them as having new A7750s - I've read it many times bye, Ivan
