  1. What I would do if I could only move to America... you guys have it so good over there. I do remember one time when I ordered something on eBaY and it took 6 weeks... that is my personal record. I guess China is shut down over the next little while due to festivities, but judging from some of the other things I'm hearing, it sounds like I've waited a relatively short time. But I can't help feeling a little worried since the address I shippied it to sounded so strange and make-believe. I even google-mapped the location but to no avail.... I did however find some interesting satellite photos of Guangzhou province... my God... looks, 'crowded'.
  2. Oh yes I waited about 3 weeks for my lady-prez. The people who say they got it in 3-4 days LIE.
  3. It's naturally human to want what you cannot have. It is not possible to have a perfect collection because no matter how many examples you have and how far reaching the scope of your timepieces, there will always be that one little piece that you don't have. Every time I get a new watch I think I'm going to finally perfect my collection. What happens? I open the package, place it in my watch box, enjoy it for about a week or two, and then dream of getting something else. It happens every time. No replica has contented me enough to make me feel satisfied enough to stop considering a fresh buy. Even now I have a list in my brain of about five watches I'd love to one. Whose on top of the list? A non-existing two-tone Breitling Chrono Avenger rep. Guess what? My collection might never be complete. Even when I run out of money.
  4. Hi friends. A little while ago I purchased a lady yacht-master from one of the very reputable dealers here. Sadly, it arrived broken, and I had to send it back. Canada post would not let me have a package with a tracking number unless I paid them $50, which I found to be absurd. So I sent it back to China (very well packaged) with the regular airmail for $10. The watch departed on the 16th of January and has not yet arrived (today is almost one month). I'm pretty sure it has either been lost, stolen, or confiscated... but all of this has been so frustrating and angered me so much I was absolutely outraged... I still am... so forget the stupid watch. It was my own fault for even thinking it would arrive to the airport considering the stupidity of my local post office employees. I was wondering if any Canadian buyers, from the Ontario (or close) area had to send something back to China, what courier would you recommend? EMS is not available where I live... and I think tracking number would be a good idea next time. Maybe another question would be asking if anyone was in a similar circustance, and it took this long or longer? I'm going to march down to Canada post on the weekend and get them to compensate me the maximum value for lost merchandise anyway, but the max $100 sentimental value thing doesn't even cover half the price....
  5. Look at what he's doing to that president! oh my God make him stop... please, God, make him stop!!! I can't watch any more!! *weeps*
  6. You couldn't tell it with the naked eye especially if you weren't holding both side by side. Unless you had that disease of noticing things very specifically and precisely like the main character on the hit FOX program "Prison Break".
  7. Another thing I am curious about is what type of watches to watch-loving parents buy for them. I would imagine addicts of this forum adorning their precious young'uns with the latest offerings from the rep world. So how about it parents? What kind of timepieces do your kids wear?
  8. If the bracelet was two tone I'd buy the one with the white face. Gorgeous. SS bracelet combo wouldn't work imho.
  9. $275,000 Jaeger-LeCoultre Gyrotourbillon I could stare at it all day long.
  10. My watch not only had a defective movement but had gold coming off of the bracelet and blemishes and inconsistensies. It was just a decrepid piece of garbage to begin with. I sent pictures to my dealer, he said send it back... What I cannot understand, and probably never will, is how somebody can have the nerve to put something clearly broken, both visually and mechanically, into an envelope alongside two other expensive watches for a repeat customer and find it ethical to send said package half way across the world. It's unnacceptable, and what's worse is that my dealer wants me to wait before he sends out a replacement. It's frustrating, condescending to myself as a regular buyer who constantly promotes his name on this and other message boards, and absolutely unfair. Now I have lost not only my $228 watch, but shipping, as well...
  11. This is an interesting post, because I'm thinking of getting that two-tone sub from Joshua when the snow melts away. Can anyone tell me how close Joshua's TT is to genuine?
  12. I sent a busted YM back to Joshua on the 16th January. Still no word yet... I'm the one who should be worried.
  13. It's nice... I prefer the look of the new daytonae, however.
  14. Have fun committing suicide when you can't remember your idea but really really want to.
  15. Power Reserve wins favorite! year-indicator wins most useful!
  16. I'm surprised the police doesn't crack down on these dealers in New York. Maybe they are Chinese-mafia controlled...
  17. I still wish they would mail out free catalogues...
  18. I was once in an AD Rolex showroom, it is about the only one where I live, there are only a couple of crusty old models... Anyway the dealer saw I was wearing a turn-o-graph and assumed it was real, as it was (and still is) an excellent replica from Joshua. He asked to try it on. no sir ee bob.
  19. I would buy the Rolex Crown one in a heartbeat, but those prices seem really high...
  20. Thanks everyone for the kind replies. The thing I like about this watch is just simply the way it looks, and the fact that I really could use a dress watch - by that I mean something yellow gold with a leather strap. I've had an eye on this piece for a long time, as it just looks absolutely, positively fantastic. The truth is that nobody knows what a Patek Philippe is - and if even if someone should vaguely recognize the name - non-enthusiasts would be unable to know their outlandish prices (since most of these individuals think the most expensive pieces are exclusively Rolex...) I'm having a big problem trying to decide which watch to get next. I've been debating between this, a two-tone navitimer, a two-tone submarine with blue face, a rose gold omega deville, and some kind of Daytona. All of them have something I like... but this is really unique, and while I certainly am not a sheik or movie star, I think it would be a fun piece to have in my collection 'just for the heck of it'. Also, it's the lowest price of my selections... though in terms of everything, its biggest current rival is the TT sub in 14K gold. Beautiful.
  21. Hi everyone. I am searching for a new watch, and have narrow my choices down to a few... up high on the list is this stunning Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar dress watch. The timepiece itself has 6 added complications aside from the regular time-telling ones (Date, Day, Month, Year, 24hrs and Sun-Moon Phase) and runs on a ETA 2836-2. I really like it, but I'm wondering if the movement may be prone to problems seeing as how it has all of these complications to deal with. I was wondering if any watch experts could 'weigh in' and tell me if its as risky to buy something like this as, say, a 7750v2 Daytona. Are buyers of this watch looking for trouble, or are the modifications acceptable judging the proven robustness and reliability of the popular Swiss-made 2836-2?
  22. Thanks for the replies. If I was the manufacturer, I would have used the new 7750 movement... the seconds hand will not sweep as smoothly, at least I assume, with the old version. Indeed, after looking closely at the subdial spacing, my hunt for a reliable Daytona continues... I guess I'll have to go with the two-tone submarine on blue face for my bi-annual bling-bling buy.
  23. Friends, Today I was browsing perfect-clones.com when I came accrossa beautiful Daytona. The reason it was beautiful, and not just a Daytona, was the clever dial arrangement. You see, the seconds were running at 9:00 instead of 6:00. I checked ebay, and indeed, such a thing did exist in the late 90s. There were several dealers selling similar models, but one question remains: does it have the new 7750 with 28,800 BPH? Also, if anyone would like to comment on the overall appearance, believability, and suspected quality of this rep, please do so. I am getting curious - and my love for Daytonae may have found a match. Could this timepiece really condense the beauty and magnificent presence of the controversial timepiece with the reliability of a robust and correctly-fitted movement? What kind of movement is pictured below?
  24. I couldn't be happier to see some sorry uneducated gullible soccer-mom or soccer-dad waste their money like that on ebay. Most falsified auctions and scam dealers are easy to spot with a little common sense and logical investigation - something which should be attempted at the prices for the watches. People who fall for most of these things, honestly, deserve it. A lot of uproar may be caused over my post, but honestly. I was about to get scammed myself on a bogus replica site for $1400 but my instincts kept me from doing it. If you exercise some restraint and common sense, consult others over the internet, you will have success. I do not think people should "impulse buy" $5000 clocks on ebay.
  25. I have 5 reps in my collection. I roatate them, but now I just bought my SMP chrono and that is getting worn non-stop for the 4-week break-in period. There have been no malfunctions on any of my old timepieces just because of wear. SUrprisingly, the SMP chrono's bracelet unscrewed itself but, miraculously, it got caught in my sleeve and I had time to catch it - otherwise it would have made love to the pavement below. I tightened the screws and now do a inspection before putting it on. I am very careful with my possessions though, especially with these watches (I treat them like they are made of tissue paper) and operate the crown and set the time with gentleness compareable only to a brain surgeon performing an operation on a hemophilic nun.
