  1. It's a gen. Easily spottable from this photo: Very few reps have the small shiny "bevel" on the lugs. That's usually a quick way to tell.
  2. New week, new watches... wearing this for Monday.
  3. @Demsey: I use a gamepad. But rfactor is best with a decent racing wheel of course. I haven't gotten into "that" level just yet. I've always been addicted to games too, mainly sports games... Pro Evolution Soccer series (mainly 5 and 6 because I prefer them over the newer versions) and NHL 2004. There's nothing left of the original game except the AI... it has been completely rebuilt, including the interface, by hardcore hockey freaks... and it's damn amazing. For some reason EA got it right with this single hockey year... the AI for EA's other hockey games (for PC) is just crap (imho), including the new NHL 09. Rebuilt 2004 SCREENSHOT I also play MVP Baseball 2005 and Madden 08. Both of those sports (baseball and American football) are almost completely unknown for us Europeans... well, your football originated from English rugby, and I know the basics. Well anyway, I can recognize a good sports game when I see one. And besides, both are really nice games and I got interested in both sports too. @AMStaff: Looks fantastic... you seem to have some serious talents man. Thanks for the link, I will definitely try that mod.
  4. Great job! WM9 case is unmatched.
  5. I bought a XBox 360 recently....it was fun for a few weeks but PC games are much more interesting due to member-based addons...I'm a sports gaming guy and while the 360 versions are pretty....at the end of the day they can't compete against community-made mods. Besides fully rebuilt NHL 2004 (which might be the best sports game ever), I've played this amazing F1 simulator: rFactor. The best part of this game is that you can download virtually unlimited amounts of member based tracks, cars, series... there's Indycar, F1 season 1988, current F1 Season, Porsche Cup, etc. etc. Check these in High Definition and you'll get the idea: ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> Replays: ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> Crashes are pretty cool too: ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> Any other fans?
  6. I changed to this. A cool photo from a Rush concert at United Center, Chicago.
  7. Hey Laz... haven't been a big fan of this watch but it looks great on you. Most attractive photos of the DSD so far!!!
  8. This fine watch today (Sunday).
  9. AWESOME shots as usual Bazzy! The replication is scary accurate as well. But then again... nothing less seems to be acceptable for our membership these days.
  10. This is a great base rep. However, while that crown of yours looks good (and possibly genuine), it's a wrong sized crown for 16710. The correct one is 6mm and yours looks like the 5.7mm, which was used on the 1675 and other plastic crystal models. Definitely not a big deal though. Just some trivia.
  11. bklm1234 can source you better bezel, with sharper teeth, but then you'll lose the click. THIS place sells surprisingly good quality GMT inserts for cheap. You probably have to sand the lower surface to make it thinner as well... but it's easy. Order 2-3 if you scratch them during the process (just in case). You also have to "straighten" the crown guards, which is very easy too. Just make the front surface straight, so that the guards won't cover the crown that much. Here's my gen to compare. Congrats, that's very good rep of the 16710. Just needs some small mods and you're set.
  12. I used to have a few Invictas years ago. I don't remember the exact model numbers, but I had this black steel Sub copy, and then I had a two-tone Sub copy... both had the Rolex type bezel... not this new one. The quality was questionable... the crown just popped out on the another one when I normally hacked the seconds hand. That had an Asian movement... I think I threw it away as it was only something like $85. The two-tone version was nicer, it had a ETA. I'd say the quality was about the same as the best reps we have... maybe not as good as something like SFSO but it was ok. I believe the same Chinese factories make both reps and these Invictas, Alphas and other "homage brands". Alphas are really wild watches... for $40 you'll get an automatic Rolex-like watch. Here is an article of a Alpha GMT. The price difference to genuine is a whoppin' $5950.
  13. Congrats Lani! There are flashier watches, there are bigger watches, there are visually more "eye catching" watches. But Explorer II is just pure understated class, and definitely among the top-5 Rolex models ever done (just imho). Great choice indeed!
  14. Cool watches guys! Been wearing this since yesterday.
  15. Some people say that sports watches don't go well with suits but I disagree, unless it's Graham Chronofighter. I've worn almost all my watches with a suit.
  16. Been wearing this again... quite a lot. I'm actually surprised how much I like the black one of my ExpII twins, although all the talk is always about the white version. No dial swaps etc. just throw in a gen crown and you'll get very accurate rep... and a cool watch to boot. Mmm... I'm lovin' it.
  17. No. I sold it because I was going to buy the 7750 version of the BTR. I already ordered it, but then the Discovery came and I got that instead. Yeah, that quartz version was nice... but I didn't like that extremely thin case.
  18. Nothing wrong with quartz. I have actually owned two quartz Ebel reps too. The first one I bought from Richard Lawton back in spring 2005. That was among the first reviews I ever wrote. The second one I got from Narikaa a while back. That was before the 7750 versions came. Actually I never thought they'd make automatic reps of these. The only issue with the very nice BTR quartz was the case, which was way too thin. Had it been thicker, I'd probably still have the watch. I thought you might want to read these old articles.
  19. This has to be pinned. Absolutely. Consider it done. Thanks Fransisco... amazing article! PS: Do other watches than AP use the seconds at '12 mod? I mean... if not, this article has to be pinned in this AP section (imho).
  20. "Have you seen him?" How could you even "see" a man that small? Someone could have carried him across the border... in his pocket.
  21. I totally agree about this. People always make fun of the traditional Rolex oyster band... how "flimsy" the clasp is, etc... but it's actually very comfortable and good looking bracelet. Sub, GMT, Explorer... Oyster bracelet is the only option (imho). Some purists like GMT on Jubilee though. But only the vintages.
  22. Amazing shots guys! I always put this trusty old SMP rep on when I go to the gym. Just like today.
  23. First: Welcome to the forum! Looks like this site is able to get the high end reps. The pics look good... but they offer nothing that our approved dealers can't source for you. So why risk it, especially when the prices aren't competitive at all? Play it safe and order from these dealers only.
  24. I have my fiancee's photo as a desktop wallpaper. She's way prettier than any watches. @Wheaton: That kid looks like a future NHL player... those mean eyes and all...
  25. Correction: Sloppiness in construction is sometimes an issue. I mean, if you're referring to mechanical problems. Of course, reps have occasional visual issues as well... like crooked markers. Amazingly, I've never gotten a rep like that... maybe the dealers double check before they send a copy to me. The only mechanical issues I've had... yes, they have been "complications". Correct hand stack GMT build is just terrible, and the Day-Date that I reviewed has a daywheel issue. And we all know the track record of A7750 seconds at '6. But with basic ETA/Asian 21J/A7750... I've never had even one mechanical problem... out of those 45-50 reps I've owned.
