  1. Giving the GMT IIc some wrist time today.
  2. Another wonderful writeup Toad! Late congrats from me too (been very busy with work lately).
  3. Yes, the black ExpII is an excellent Rolex replica... and very underrated. I'd just straighten the crown guard "insides" and wear it. I already have one of these but it's in the possession of my watch guy (he's very busy). Great choice indeed, and definitely a keeper. Congrats!
  4. Moderator move: Two exactly similar threads/topics merged to one. Carry on.
  5. As usual I like the blue dial. Maybe it's not accurate to the gen, but it's the nicest combo, imho.
  6. Get it without the engraving. It's non-symmetric and doesn't look good. Looks much better without.
  7. No... the rep subdials are grey as well. It's my studio light exposure and contrasting on the photos that makes them appear black. Here's a photo outside, which gives better idea of the subdial color. It's also a good size comparison to a 40mm gen GMT. Discovery doesn't wear that big.
  8. True. But an online catalog is still better than nothing... and very convenient way to promote your product... to millions of people. If I was in charge of a watch company, I'd put one out immediately. It's 2008 now.
  9. I find it strange that more manufacturers aren't putting their catalogs online, like TAG Heuer.
  10. Ah, I wasn't aware that there was a "budget" quartz version.
  11. The subdial spacing on the Discovery rep is perfect. You're probably thinking of the BTR, which uses different movement. Two different watch models.
  12. Hate football or not... it's the biggest sport in the world. Followed by billions of people. No other sport comes even close. I don't care about the club football at all, but I'm a huge fan of the FIFA World Cup tournament, and collect classic matches from them... mainly from here. PS: I agree that Christiano Ronaldo is gay.
  13. This new WM9 is an updated model of this. Definitely an awesome Sub, and the new model will be without the doubt the best ever.
  14. @Bazz: That Brosnan one is a hilarious picture. I almost choked my morning coffee!
  15. Yeah. it might not necessarily cause any damage. But I still don't see even one single reason to manually wind a working automatic watch, regardless what the official Rolex info says. If shake, rattle and roll works just as well, what's the point?
  16. Welcome to RWG! Regarding your 7750 question: No, the watches don't come serviced, but I haven't had any problems with my Asian 7750's, even though I haven't serviced any of them. They have been running flawlessly for years. I wouldn't stress too much about it. You can also replace the movement if some kind of trouble occurs. Happy hunting!
  17. After I bought my first expensive gen, I only realized how good the reps actually are. After that, I've been on a rep buying mode again. Whether you leave the reps or not... just don't become a "gen snob". They're boring wankers.
  18. Thanks for the compliments tokei. Appreciated. Regarding hand winding the automatics... Ziggy has always said it's bad for the movements... gen or rep. I just echo what he says in articles like this. Just don't do it.
  19. Great PO wristshot Robbie! This to start the week:
  20. Let me ask you a question: Why are you winding it manually? There's absolutely no need to wind ETAs or Asian automatics manually. You're only wearing out your gears that way.
  21. Kimi is my favorite but he drove like a BUM this year. I heard that his winter training consisted mostly of vodka and strippers. Massa drove really well, he's a solid driver... but it was more about Kimi being unmotivated and completely out of shape, than Massa's utter brilliance. Lewis was my 2nd favorite to win the title. A worthy champion indeed, and the best driver of 2008. Congrats to all Brits onboard!!!
