  1. I agree. SFSO isn't an amazing rep only because it's so accurate. It's the build quality which is just stunning. Very difficult to believe it's a rep actually... it's so well done.
  2. This used to be a known QC/dropshipper problem with this rep. Mine came from PT without any problems whatsoever. I'm very happy to wait a week or two more, pay a few bucks extra and get a hand-picked and QC'd watch... without any customs problems inside the EU.
  3. @sander: That's an amazing IWC man... quite a stunner! Congrats! Puts all our watches into shame, kinda. @TeeJay: Thanks for the pic compliments.
  4. The difference between gen Omegas, Rolexes, Breitlings and TAGs vs. best reps are minimal. There are some, but people DO exaggerate them. Especially the ones that own genuines. Maybe that way they're trying to justify the price for themselves. Especially Rolex. There's very little difference between my gen Rolex GMT and the WM9 Sub... the rep feels heavier and sturdier (with the solid link bracelet). People who say they're "worlds apart" are definitely weird in my eyes. Gen PO is an amazing watch and one of the few "cheap luxury watches" that really is a good buy. Especially the 42mm model... the 4th Gen rep doesn't compare. UPO with an aftermarket AR coating is a different story... it can "replace" the gen (imho). PS: Yes, I agree. That was a weird 1st post.
  5. Surprisingly, this one: Young people like TAG and they're always impressed of the bulky and massive Aquaracer. SMP Chrono and SFSO have collected occasional compliments. But as with the others, maybe 1 out of 1000 people notice what I'm wearing.
  6. Gotta love the Link with AR. Such a great looking watch... and that bracelet is my all-time favorite. These photos makes me miss mine.
  7. Blast from the past! What we were wearing last year this time?... and two years ago? I'm starting the week with this.
  8. Looks bloody amazing! If some watch needs the AR it's the Link. More pics please!
  9. Indeed. That must be the worst replica release of 2008. I'm amazed that a dealer (whoever he/she was) has stomach to ship that kind of garbage to our good members. And no, I'm not exaggerating... that's just an insanely awful Yachtie!
  10. I don't think any of the classic models are great "investments", unless we're talking about decades when they become antique. But they're investments in the sense that you can always at least get your money back for the ones that you buy preowned now. Sea Dweller, GMT and Subs are the safest bets of keeping (or even slightly increasing) their value as the classic models are all going out of production. Maybe temporarily, maybe permanently... who knows... Explorer II's are rather cheap right now so they might be good buys. But I seriously doubt they're going to "skyrocket" or anything. There are too many of those watches out there. The new designs of Rolex don't seem to attract many WIS. That's why some people predict that the classic models might become more desirable.
  11. Found these. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Cv-0TBEhWVE/SOng...I/s1600-h/1.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Cv-0TBEhWVE/SOng...I/s1600-h/2.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Cv-0TBEhWVE/SOng...E/s1600-h/3.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Cv-0TBEhWVE/SOng...I/s1600-h/4.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Cv-0TBEhWVE/SOng...k/s1600-h/5.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Cv-0TBEhWVE/SOnf...M/s1600-h/6.jpg
  12. 4th Gen 42mm version is ok, but not up to today's replication standards. It's better to wait or get the UPO.
  13. I've said it before and I say it again: It would be EXTREMELY NICE if people just filled the "location" in their profile. Not only in the sales threads, but many times a member is asking a general custom/shipping question without describing where he's from. If this small info was in his profile, the answer would be much easier to give immediately. EU / UK CONUS AUSTRALIA ASIA Europe (non EU)
  14. I've heard that lots of DS owners have sold it very quickly after buying one. Even the least objective Rolex fanboys don't seem to like how it wears and sits on the wrist. Personally, I think the DS is ugly as hell. Amazing watch technically though.
  15. This is a killer! ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">
  16. Great watches, all! I will probably wear these two watches through the weekend.
  17. Looks great Chris!!! But shouldn't non-SELs and lugholes always go with SWISS T<25 dials? Lugholes and SELs go ok with "Swiss Made" though.
  18. Great minds think alike. Replace Chopard (which is really nice too) with TAG Aquaracer Chronograph and you have my three favorite chronographs... and the three that I currently own.
  19. ExpI is such a classic! Congrats for this wonderful franken!
  20. Thanks man. Appreciated. Here's two more of the Noob. It wasn't WM9 but for $120 it was an incredible rep.
  21. As a moderator I can't officially promote anyone... but as a watch addict I can. Precious Time and Eurotimez would be my choices. No dropshipping. Never received a problematic watch from either of them. And, they're both in UK. I got mine from PT.
  22. The WM9 Sub I reviewed is the best 16610 without any doubt whatsoever. It's light years better than the MBW, and definitely NOT the same watch. The finish and fit of the SELs is superb. The crown is almost indistinguishable. Datewheel is amazing (unlike on the old WM9 model). The only thing missing are the pearl and super luminova (which George's new update will include). Cg's are also possible to modify to perfect condition. You only have to "straighten the insides" which even a clumsy guy like me can do. Look at it from this angle. Anyone who has owned gen Subs and GMTs know how it should look... and WM9 is absolutely spot on. George must be doing something right. For $330 w/ gen ETA this is a great buy (imho).
  23. Congrats. Looks good... but you have to shave those cg's man. About the bezel: Tape the lugs so they won't get scratched, then try pushing a knife between the case and bezel and lift gently... then try rotating it again. If this won't help, just completely remove the bezel and re-install it again. I'm sure it's easily fixable. Good luck, and keep us posted.
