  1. All concerts I've attended: Too many to mention. But this year: Metallica Genesis Muse Dream Theater Rush and Porcupine Tree in December.
  2. This is an amazing rep. The best ever version of YM without a doubt. I don't particularly like the Yacht-Master but I've been considering this lately, just because the rep is so nice. Thanks mate. Great pics and review (as usual). PS: I have only one complaint: No wrist shots.
  3. Dunno about the rest of the weekend, but Aquaracer for Friday.
  4. Just stay away from the GMT inserts. They're crap. I had two of these. Look at the misaligned "dot" between 8 and 10. Wrong color shade as well (too "matte"). http://24.227.47.211/adn62/images/VARIANT/large/571.jpg Junk.

  6. People often say that you need a big wrist for a big watch. I'm 6'3, 270 pound ex-competitive powerlifter. I have a 8' wrist, and I still think UPO looked too big on me. I think these XXXL watches are just beyond silly. I initially liked the watch, but the novelty wore off soon. I think I should have given it a chance on a rubber strap, but then again I have so many more nicer watches to wear. The standard SMP (and the chrono) for example. This is not to say that folks shouldn't enjoy their UPOs (and big watches generally). Just like fat women, they simply aren't for me.
  7. You need correct lighting, a decent camera (that has focus) and a lot of practice. Neil has them all, he's a great watch photographer. Maybe the best. But the most important thing is the correct setup, it's 90% about the lighting... and understanding how the lighting works. Camera doesn't mean that much. If your lighting isn't correct you will always shoot bad and unattractive photos, no matter how expensive equipment you have. The rest (10%) is natural talent, and an artistic eye to make an attractive photo... and also the Photoshop skills. All best watch photographers use Photoshop. People who say they do all with the lens are lying.
  8. I'm still wearing my GMT's, I simply love the twins. The red/black is speaking to me louder this week.
  9. It wasn't about the wrist size. I just feel the watch looked clumsy. There's something about that rounded bracelet that made it look unbalanced. "Hockey puck" is bit of a clich
  10. Wonderful shots, great Carrera!
  11. Lack of double sided AR is pretty much the only thing missing from the UPO. It's a great rep. However I sold mine, because after the initial honeymoon was over, it started to feel clumsy and ugly on my wrist. I never got used to the huge size. I hope they'll eventually make a ultimate version of the 42mm, which is (imho) much better looking and more balanced watch. I doubt it though. And to answer your question: No, I don't think they'll ever rep it better.
  12. Very beautiful! Serie Speciale is the nicest Navi hands down. I love the brushed case.
  13. WTF! The rehaut looks different from the earlier versions. It looks cylindrical like it should be. Or perhaps it's the crystal that makes the difference as you say. I'm quite surprised. Either way, great review. Kudos!
  14. I keep all my watches out of water. I never understood why people feel like they need to shower with their watch on. There are many horror stories of people ruining their genuine Rolexes and Omegas in water. Why risk it?
  15. I don't think it's the crystal, just f'd up dial. They can replicate the GMT well too. Here's a photo of my Noob dial (w/genuine). http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i243/BT2112/wt2-14.jpg
  16. I was able to find only one gen pic for reference. Ironically, it comes from a replica scam site. Looks like the font on King's version is a bit oversized too. Giving it a second thought, I might go for the Trusty's version anyway. It's basically the same watch as "Retro" (that I reviewed). I know that one has mighty good "feel". Either way, looks like these Root beer versions are surprisingly well replicated. And of course you already know the the gold plating on rep Oyster bracelets can be a bit questionable. Good luck (whatever you choose)!
  17. This King's version is better. Good thick crystal, sharp bezel teeth, decent crown and cg's. Actually this is much better than his SS versions. A bit too short & thick GMT hand and little oversized date mag. But not a bad effort. The other insert (all brown) is a fantasy version. I think the Root beer GMT is hideous, but to each their own.
  18. Let's continue the Eyecandy threads. I'll start: Modern Daytona Seconds at '6. The "2001 model" with white dial & champagne subdials. The only modern Daytona anyone should even consider. I had a great pleasure and honor to review this legendary rep for the community. Thanks again Stephane! The Omega Broad Arrow. Another legendary rep. I bought this watch twice. Reduced Speedmaster rep. This inaccurate but very nice rep was in my possession for a week. I traded it because I was going to buy the full size Moon Watch. That's still on my wishlist. Let's see yours!
  19. Brilliant! As you know I'm a big fan of Explorer II, and these vintage McQueens are amazing. Enjoy! I wish I had your skills.
  20. This would be too much for even jfreeman.
