  1. Absolutely stunning LV. Best I've seen. Never really warmed up to the LV but this makes me reconsider.
  2. @Noel: That IS nice. This white Explorer II is the only new Rolex model that I like. Enjoy!
  3. Has there been any discussion about the new Rolex Sky-Dweller? What's the point of this watch?
  4. Why should we create a section for women's watches when we don't even have any women here? We used to have a few though. Isoroku and that other one who created a lot of drama (can't remember her name). And also Natalie from TRC, the scammer dealer.
  5. Hey... I found some old photos of the replica GMTIIc. I still had them in my Photobucket album. Enjoy.
  6. Happy Sunday. Wearing my Discovery chrono.
  7. Hey... nice bump. I had completely forgotten about this watch & review.
  8. Great work. Looks gen. I have very limited skills with watches so I could never duplicate what you guys are doing with my clumsy hands. Quite amazing.
  9. Anyone who has the gen GMTIIc can spot the rep immediately. The hand stack isn't as big issue as the bezel which is quite different on the gen. It has brown tone and very strong reflection compared to the rep. When I examined the gen I was surprised how different the gen bezel was. And yes... they made the GMTIIc initially with the correct hand stack. Freddy, one of our mods, owns one. But still... it's fairly nice rep. The wrong hand stack wouldn't bother me. I'm sure most gen owners have never paid attention to it.
  10. Great shot Freddy. Wearing this old favorite of mine.
  11. You can easily authenticate your watch when you hand it over to the service. When I swapped the insert and regulated my 16710 they took all information of my watch into their database, even the bracelet serial number. I bought it from the UK and obviously it wasn't stolen. They even had a record of its previous service in Birmingham. They wanted to "confiscate" the old insert but I demanded it back because it's my property. I demanded it with an angry tone. I'm not sure if I agree with the "overpriced" argument though. 3185, for example, is a fine & extremely functional complication movement. If it's supposedly "overpriced", which competitors can offer anything better for lower prices? And I'm talking about companies who use inhouse movements. Yeah... that's your argument there. Why aren't Breguet and Patek overpriced... even though they make watches that cost 10 times more?
  12. There are 2 high-end Ebel reps and I reviewed both. They're still the exact same replicas. How would the more "recent" reviews change anything? As Demonslayer says... BTR is amazing. It was one of the best quality reps I've ever had.
  13. Greetings! It's been a while since I started this thread. Wearing my Seamaster Chrono, which has been ticking flawlessly since 2006. Still love this watch.
  14. Both are great reps. BUT... my advice is to sell both and buy the gen. It's definitely worth it. That'll save you money... because eventually only the gen is good enough. Hackr knows this too.
  15. Greetings, all! Wearing my good old Pepsi GMT.
  16. I haven't followed the prices lately but at least the ebay.co.uk asking prices are pretty greasy. Here's one pretty clean example. http://tinyurl.com/celhprh I bought mine for 3600 Euros a few years ago, which is now 4,659.22 USD. Maybe TZ & WUS have more reasonable prices?
  17. Very common misunderstanding but not true. Lugholes, SELs & SWISS MADE (super luminova dial) is accurate for the 2000-2003 watches. I wanted that exact model myself. Mine is a K-serial (2003).
  18. Hey everyone. The links to the actual reviews weren't working (same case with Breitling & TAG Guides). I have fixed them all now. I have no idea how long they have been broken. But all good now. PS: Does anyone have a good review of the Omega PloProf. I could add it to this guide. Thanks in advance.
  19. Hey Dave. What's up? Late reply but I just wanted to make it clear: The whole rep vs. gen thing has never been a big deal for me. I'm passionate about my favorite watch models and I wanted the gens of them because I genuinely love those models and you're absolutely correct: the replicas can't hold a candle to them. For a hardcore enthusiast gens are the only way to go... when it comes to your favorite ones. It's nice and practical to have reps of some liked, but lesser loved ones. I still wear my reps too (I have a few of them). The reason I haven't been around is that I lost my passion for watch reviews and photography. Maybe I got burned out a bit. To be honest, I haven't followed the watch scene at all (rep and gen). I think I needed a break... now I'm getting interested again. Still... I don't really care what other people think about my watches. I also have a gen Rolex but I still wear my Submariner WM9 regularly and only one person ever commented. He automatically assumed it was a genuine Sub and I didn't bother to correct him. That didn't make feel like a "dishonest person"... maybe I lost my morals somewhere along the journey. It's just a watch and very few people would ever notice it. It's no big deal... they just cost a few thousand Euros. What's the big deal.... any working adult could afford a Rolex... save the people who are flipping burgers at Ronald McDonalds.
  20. Rule number #1 in the rep game: Never follow the tracking system. I couldn't follow this rule, ever... but it's still a good rule. It comes when it comes.
  21. These sound like really effective "raids". Authorities come and "raid" the factory that is producing illegal, counterfeit items. In China that means that they'll be up and running again in 2 weeks like nothing happened. I guess this kind of "shortcuts" have allowed them to be an economic superpower in the world.
