  1. Mmm...beauty. I'm still considering a gen like yours. But I'm sure the 1:1 rep comes out as soon as I close the deal.
  2. Mike is very cool. I've dealt with him once and he's a perfect gentleman.
  3. This is the best forum on the Internet...the admin really listens to the members' requests. Everything is perfect now: the forum "width issue" is fixed and the forum software only resizes oversized images which screw the text layout (for the lower res users). ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!! Big thanks Thomas! PS: don't touch anything now...or it'll probably break.
  4. Damn this is a nice watch. The red lettering is the icing on the cake. I'm going to get this too (from another PT... Precious Time). Let's hope the Breitling wings really aren't crooked on the watches that get shipped to the customers (just like RT pointed out).
  5. It's ugly, rainy and dark outside, so I decided to cheer up the boring Monday with a beautiful watch. I'm wearing my "Wacko" GMT today.
  6. Welcome back mate. THE watch to get? I recall you were looking for a good 45mm PO. Check this out: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=18161 PS: Yeah I know...this is shameless self-promotion but your old Pumpkin appears in one picture too.
  7. True... the dials are different. PS: I think the "red hands" version makes the other models look a bit dull. "Red" would be my choice without a doubt, I love colors... and they fit perfectly to a watch with the racing theme. Mmm, I think I might need this... must resist...
  8. Nobody posted the traditional wrist check for the weekend. But the weekend ain't over yet. Saw Shutter_bug's nice wristshot of the black version of this rep... so I decided to wear my white Ebel today (Sunday). Not the most accurate rep by todays standards, but very nice nevertheless... and it was one of my first, so I have a special "bond" with this watch.
  9. I know that particular rep model. It's junk and definitely not worth the hassle. Trust me... you don't really need that sticker... you need to stay away from shitholes like Globalreplica and buy a decent replica from one of our dealers.
  10. I got it from WBK (an US-based RWI dealer). Here's the whole story: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=17962 PS: Here are the "glamour shots" of each watch. You have probably seen them before... but enjoy the watch porn anyway... This is departed, but it was a beauty:
  11. Looks perfect now. Thanks Thomas (and the gang)!!! Edit: Now it automatically resizes all bigger images. Great idea, but it would be even better if it only resized images that exceed the limit 799 in width (which is the upper limit of keeping the text layout firm in 1024x viewing resolution). Is this possible to do? PM sent to Thomas about this.
  12. Let's hope they have enough sense to use the "Ultimate" 45mm as a base (now that they finally got it right). Otherwise they're going to screw up something again (wanna bet?) I'm not a big fan of the "special edition" models from ANY brands... I find them a bit cheesy (the old 007 SMP is cool though) But I'm curious to see the result anyway.
  13. @Puggy: I posted exactly the same rant in this thread: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=18437
  14. Shame that he's not around anymore. I always enjoyed his reviews in the old RWG.
  15. Thanks... while you're at it post the caseback pic too. (that's what he was asking for).
  16. @RT: check this auction. Those pics are protected but can be saved and cropped with PRNT SCRN -> Paste to Windows Paint or any graphics program. This is the only place I found caseback shots with a quick search. There must be more... Google image search will probably find 'em. http://cgi.ebay.com/OMEGA-SEAMASTER-PLANET...1QQcmdZViewItem
  17. I form some kind of "bond" with my watches. Reps or gens. After having them for years I'll be glad to service them or swap the movements. They have wear and scratches but they're my scratches. Every scratch tells a story. Some reps are so nice (like the SMP chrono) that if the movement fails I'll definitely swap it with ETA. It costs maybe $300 - $400... so what? Yeah, it's still a rep, but for some strange perverse reason I get a kick out of the good reps more than gens. PS: I also try to keep my collection small. But more because I can't justify owning watches that I never wear. It's probably some kind of practical character feature in me. 10 watches is absolute maximum for me. But then again... year ago it was 5-6.
  18. Beautiful work as usual Z. I know El Primero probably the most respected mass produced chronograph movement, but what, in your opinion, are the things that clearly put it above to say, ETA 7750? Is it the ultra-high beat combined with long power reserve, quality of parts... or robust overall construction? Of course it's probably all these things combined, but what is truely exceptional? I think the new Rolex 4130 has lower beat rate (28.800 bph) and some people say that it was a "downgrade" when they moved to the inhouse movement in Daytonas. What's your opinion about that? PS: Randy has some really exceptional frankens. These Daytonas are forger's art... and in many ways much more fascinating than the genuines.
  19. Thanks Randy. Yes, indeed. Your SM300 is gorgeous. @dluddy: Yep... I need to get a AT soon. I haven't decided the dial & hands color combo yet. Thanks for sharing yours...that silver dial with gold hands is magnificient. Any more shots of it? PS: Thanks all for the nice comments!!
  20. This is definitely on my list too. Beautiful, beautiful!!! I'm a bracelet guy myself... but that gen strap surely looks awesome! We have similar taste in Breitlings. Brushed "Fighters Edition" Navi in blue... and Chronomat Evolution in black are my favourites as well. Great choices!
  21. Thanks guys. Yep, I need the Moon Watch and I'm considering the genuine eventually (just like Baltic). I have no real dress Omega, but the Speedmaster and Bond SMP can be used as such. Perhaps a black dial AT would be a good option.
  22. It means that the dealers drop the watches on the floor several times before they send them out (lots of crooked dial markers because of that).
  23. If I have a weakness in watch photography it's definitely the group shots... they're tough and my equipment sets some limitations too. So excuse the lousy photo. I tried to clean it up a bit with Photoshop. But the photo isn't important... just wanted to share my current Omega collection. Enjoy.
  24. Is it a brand new rep in plastic? Or used one from another member? If it's a used one you could print the PayPal receipt (if you paid with PayPal) and show them that. $100 - $200 sounds like a reasonable price for a Breitling repairing service (for the customs people at least).
