  1. Great choice Edge. I'd buy this too if I didn't already have too many watches. And while you're waiting read Demsey's excellent review of this rep: http://www.replicacollector.com/members/in...showtopic=27999

By today's standards it's super ugly. But look at the bright side: at least the bezel is correctly aligned. And then again... I've seen MUCH worse.
  3. Yes, they don't screw down on the genuine, either. And you don't need a screw-down pushers to have extremely waterproof chronograph. Gen SMP chrono is one of the most waterproof chronos out there.
  4. Yeah...I really like your Aquaracer Marrick. I wouldn't mind having a good quality quartz rep of that model.
  5. I doubt they'll make it better. Let's get real here... the "Ultimate" is almost perfect... but the 4th Gen is very, very close. The only real shortcomings are the pearl and the clasp. Buy a black rubber band for the 20mm lugs and you're set. The placement of the Omega logo is anal-department Trekkie stuff (imho). Gen on the right: Both have excellent lume for a rep. 4th Gen has AR but it doesn't have the blue tint on it... but neither does the "Ultimate". As soon as PT can source the "Ultimate" I'll make a comparison review of them.
  6. That Randy's great 16610 was excepted. But generally Rolex reps are rather poor in comparison. You can't have out-of-the-box Sub, GMT, Daytona, SeaDweller or ExpII which wouldn't be identified as a rep. The only really good Rolex rep is the Explorer I... others are easily spottable for a Rolex WIS. This is indeed strange... and it would be interesting to know why the factories always fuck up with them. That's probably also why the popularity of Rolex has declined in our community. Much more complicated watches have been repped a lot better.
  7. I'm 6'3 tall and weigh 250-260 pounds... and I have lifted weights since I was 16. But I still don't have over 8' wrist. You have to have extremely thick bone structure for that. But I've seen much smaller guys with thicker wrists... wrist size doesn't always go 1:1 with your overall size. Also...you need to have significant amount of bodyfat to get fat into your wrist area. But I've seen people with "puffy" wrists... let's see 'em!!!
  8. My wrist is about 7,9'. So no Omega Constellation for me. Seamaster and everything around 42mm looks great on me.
  9. Excellent tutorial Bruce, well done!!! I used sandpaper only to make my GMT insert thinner. It really takes a long time and requires patience.
  10. I totally agree. The watch isn't dead on accurate but it's one of the best quality reps there is. I have the white dial version of the same watch: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=429 I also had the smaller version of your rep: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=10733
  11. Magnificient shots as usual Bazz. I can't wait to get mine.
  12. The resistance starts to feel almost immediately. You can safely wind it until you get significant resistance, just like CC said. When I got my Speedy back then I stopped winding as soon as I got some resistance.... and it gave a lousy power reserve. According to mr. Z you can't overwind the Venus/Seagull movement... so there shouldn't be any problems. To learn more about this excellent rep movement, read Ziggy's review: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=1419
  13. Early morning here in Europe. I'm heading to the office... with the PO on my wrist (again). Ugly wristshot as usual... followed by one of my best "studio shots" ever.
  14. Cool ads. Check this too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb6q5h4sp2M&search=rolex
  15. Yep... I did. If you want to say that I'm a tasteless idiot because I like the watch, just spill it out mate. That watch might be gay... but gossiping and grapevine talk is ultimate gay.
  16. I don't know. I've been waiting him to source the Ultimate 45mm PO as well... I have a hard time waiting for that one as well. I'm sure Angus gets it as soon as it's ready. And so will PT.
  17. @Ubi: I agree about the red 1680. The dial is just off, and the wach in unmodded state is quite inaccurate. The white version or the 1665 are much better choices. I still loved mine... but I just couldn't stand the red SUBMARINER font.
  18. Precious Time is getting this same version. I'll purchase it immediately when he gets the black one with bracelet.
  19. Yep. She has been wearing it every day since I purchased it. Really nice watch... and we all know Narikaa has nice prices.
  20. Stainless steel ladies' TAG from Narikaa is sporty, understated and nice. And quite accurate too. She likes it.
  21. Thanks mate... you're welcome. The current Daytonas are quite close visually... but the movement issues are what they are. The only reliable solution would be a microstepper quartz movement (there are even 10 ticks per second quartz movements), but I doubt that's gonna happen. As long as we're stuck with the 7750 I doubt we'll see more reliable and better Daytonas.
  22. Yeah, I know the polishing & brushing method. Actually I did my own SMP using the TZ tutorial (see my SMP guide). But I decided against polishing it. Most members liked the wear and so did I. My brother didn't care, either way. It's back on his wrist now... heading to new adventures (and dings, dangs & scratches). I'll shoot more pics after the next 18 months. Let's see how it keeps ticking.
  23. Tempting, tempting... I really appreciate the offer mate... but I'll wait another year. Maybe the factories can eventually do this right. Your watch is a beauty... best franken-GMT II ever (at least in our community's history). And I love the black/red combo. Very classy!!! Now what are you waiting for? Give us a wrist shot!!!!
  24. Absolutely outstanding!!! It's almost perfect. The crystal sits a bit too high though... but that's about the only (very minor) complaint I can find. How much was the complete cost of this project... if you don't mind me asking?
  25. There's no competition: The Leopard Daytona is the ultimate Gay Watch. Any PINK gents' watch is gay... I've seen a Seamaster Chronograph!!!! (of all watches) with PINK DIAMOND BEZEL and ruby red gay diamonds on the hour markes. Yes, that bulky and masculine sports chrono. That was just as gay as Leopard Gaytona. I wish I still had the pic. Although understated this watch is the ultimate proof of someone's bad taste and Gayness: Diamonds used on the hour markers of the no-date Rolex Submariner: It's a complete disgrace to put diamonds on that legendary tool watch. The pic is terrible too. What a wanker... and gay, apparently!!! PS: Did I use the word "gay" enough in this post?
