  1. What do you think? I think Ferrari got the best driver in the sport. Kimi will have big boots to fill though. But I think he can do it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport...one/5332710.stm
  2. Cool. That picture looks so... Paris. But Pug definitely needs a haircut.
  3. Yeah well... we all know by now how to take the links off the bracelet... but has anyone figured out how to use the micro adjustment? There are three holes on the end of the clasp. Apparently these are adjustment holes. It doesn't show in the picture properly... but there are three holes... and the bracelet is attached to the hole in the middle. I got a PM from another member who asked this... and I could actually set my bracelet a little tighter as well. Does anyone know if there's a small pin inside this hole? I want to be sure... don't want to break my watch. This is what I'm talking about. I'm not sure if this is even adjustable. But if not... I wonder why there are three holes then.
  4. Thanks for this review. I added this into my Omega Guide. It's the first review I've seen of the PO chrono. I'm amazed that nobody has bought and reviewed the 7750-version yet.
  5. Early Friday morning here in Europe... and I'll be wearing my trusty and sharp SMP today (perhaps even through the whole weekend):
  6. Yes, the price is ridiculous. But many members have gotten utter shite for $900 from the scam sites. Compared to some really crap reps this is still a good one.
  7. I like bands with huge live sound... I personally prefer good quality live albums (like soundboard bootleg recordings) over studio albums. I listen to all kinds of music... mostly progressive rock (Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Marillion, Camel, King Crimson, old Genesis (pre-Collins), Gentle Giant, etc.) but my all-time favourite bands are Rush, Pink Floyd, The Who and Led Zeppelin. I also like Dave Matthews Band a lot. I know, it's completely different music from my other favourites... but they have excellent, huge live sound that I like. They're completely unknown in Europe though... so I'm not holding my breath seeing them live, ever. Old David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Simon & Garfunkel and even Dire Straits work. Beatles too, of course. Actually, I like almost anything that's not played on MTV and commercial radio stations. Now playing: Mars Volta "De-Loused on Comatorium"
  8. Excellent job as usual Z. I always enjoy reading these reviews. Rolex asking $1K to service it? That's ridiculous. Tudor Subs can be easily found for $1K in good condition. Perhaps not this particular "Sugar hour marker" model though. That's a lovely watch indeed!!! Thanks for sharing this, great read!
  9. What's so exceptionally horrible about this rep? It looks like a typical rep of the TT Sub to me. Good rehaut and some other niceties. Not as good as the new versions, but similar quality that we got 12 months ago (if you forget the crooked 6'o'clock marker). These TT models are very tricky watches to replicate properly. Typical noob purchases... my 2 first reps were TT Subs. I'd like to see one of the new models in the flesh to be sure... but the older reps just didn't cut it for me. George sells this watch (stainless steel version) and calls it MBW. It's the same TW-based Sub that River and EL sell... I think I've owned this exact same watch when I didn't know better... and had an obsession with the TT Sub.
  10. I've had a $80 Gruen... and it's definitely NOT the same quality as the best reps. Neither are Alphas and cheaper (21J-based) Invictas. I had a $120 Invicta (with supposed Miyota movement) and the winding crown popped out after 3 days. I've had plenty of reps and haven't experienced one single problem with them (except a "reset to zero" problem with a old 7750-chrono). All my ETA-based reps have been 100% perfect. My SMP has taken some serious abuse and runs and looks like a champ after 15 months. Some reps are solidly built and are easily comparable to $200 - $500 watches. You can't put them all into the same basket.
  11. Neil also said that it doesn't have AR but yhanks for the "official" confirmation. Yeah, the dial and crystal are quite reflective but IMO it's part of this watch's appeal. It's one of the trickiest watch to photograph though. I gotta try and shoot a few new pics of it one of these days.
  12. I always like your watches Robert. Dunno if it's a fantasy model... but that vintage Omega looks superb.
  13. My watch choice for Wednesday is the Speedmaster:
  14. Hmm... blessed are people who are easy to please.
  15. That's a factory pic of a genuine Explorer. You're the victim number 2.034.234 of the scam sites. Pat yourself on the back though... you only paid $149. God knows what kind of watch you'll receive (if you even receive anything).
  16. $1300 for a Invicta? I'm sure it's a nice watch... but don't do it!!! Imagine what preowned great brand watches you could get for that money: Breitlings, Omegas, DateJusts, etc. Add $500 and you'll get a no-date Submariner. DON'T BE CRAZY!!!
  17. I loved it... but I never wore it. I sold it to a fellow member who takes good care of it I'm sure. And you know...the usual...I needed the cash to justify new purchases. I only have the GMT now... but I might get a modern Sub or SeaDweller eventually. Perhaps the vintage wasn't my style afterall? I don't know... sometimes it's difficult to say why you choose to "bond" with some watches... and not with some others. Nothing bad to say about the MBW experience though. Great watches.
  18. Palpatine is absolute genius when it comes to dial aging. What a lovely watch it is!!! Here's a few fun shots of my already departed (sniff) 1680.
  19. Indeed. My old Breitling had this exact same problem. It's harmless but it can be visually quite annoying. Here's someone reporting similar problem: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=2372
  20. Amazing collection. Those vintages are really beautiful... and that Electric Blue Seamaster is on my "must have" list. Thanks for the pics!
  21. Wow...!!! You're quite a talented fellow. Looks excellent!!! Talking about Moon Phase Speedmasters... have you seen this one? It's very nice variation of the Broad Arrow theme:
  22. Nicely done review. Thanks for taking time for doing this for the forum!!! Glad you like the watch... looks like a good rep.
  23. I have all classic Dylan albums... never really heard his newer stuff. I think the newest in my collection is Dylan & The Dead from the early 90'S. PS: The best version of "All Along the Watchtower" comes from Dave Matthews Band. They have a phenomenal live version of that famous Dylan song. I know some people think they're posers, but they're still amazing musicians.
  24. Good to know. PS: Welcome back from vacation my friend. I hope you had a good one! This place wasn't the same without you.
  25. Glad you liked the review. And I'm 100% sure you'll like the watch too.
