Wow!!! That's a great watch. And wonderful pictures as usual.
-
Yeah... didn't thought about that. Strange that they're not doing the new Navi reps with 12-9-6 then. Maybe the genuine Navis aren't in production with that arrangement anymore... not even any "special" models? One more reason to wait the Chronomat.
-
I don't know if this is the issue, but the new 7750/28.800 movement that I have in my new TAG Link doesn't suffer from this problem. I kept the chronos running for 48 hours straight and the watch was dead-on accurate during the whole time.
-
Thanks Szumi, that's what I thought. It's still a great looking watch. Talked to Precious Time about Chronomat a while back and he said that it's an "upcoming project" for the factories... whatever that means. I saw a black genuine Chronomat on a sleazy lawyer that I know and it was truly impressive. I've been obsessed with it since then.
-
Great rep. It's 100% the same watch as mine. Just Ayrton Senna signature and green running seconds hand. Probably the most accurate rep ever done. At least very close.
-
@Andrew: Do you know whether the rep factories are going to do Breitling Chronomat? It's amazing that there's no rep of this hugely popular watch model.
-
Ditto. This is my all-time favourite Breitling. I think it's Chronomat Evolution??? Everything should be easy with this one. Default 7750 subdial arrangement, etc. What the hell is keeping them from doing this rep?
-
If there's one watch brand that always makes me scratch my head about all those different models it's gotta be Breitling. Spotted this in Joshua's site and it's hands down the best looking Breitling rep there is (imho). I've been waiting for Chronomat a long time but since the rep factories aren't interested in repping this popular model I could easily settle with Super Avenger. The problem is... I haven't been able to find a genuine counterpart to this one: It looks almost like this Windrider Chromat evolution... but with different pushers, bracelet and crown. Does this genuine model of Super Avenger exist... or is this a half-fantasy watch? Actually I'm not even sure I care... would like to get that one. But I'm just puzzled...

I rotate the watches during the week and the am/pm thing is screwed up all the time. I don't even bother anymore. I wear a different watch almost every day. Dateless Speedmaster is excellent watch because you don't have to bother. Or my quartz Ebel... always in sync. I think I need a winder.
-
Yeah. Sorry I just had to say it. Glad you have a good sense of humor.
-
Yeah, I think the bracelet in TAG Link Chrono is excellent. One of the watch best bracelets ever (rep or gen) and it's better than in 4th Gen PO... but not as good (imho) as the Seamaster "Bond" bracelet which is the best and most comfortable watch bracelet I've ever had. But wait until you get your first Rolex with hollow link band. I'm sure you come here and tell us all how crap it feels. I've grown to like it though... nothing wrong with it. But it's very flimsy.
-
No. Clean them up, polish them with car wax (so you won't remove the brushed finish) and oil them properly and there's a world of difference. And what Rolexman said: "old SMP rep" has almost perfect bracelet.
-
Well... my Navi hasn't been getting a lot of wrist time lately (due to my new purchases PO, TAG, etc.) and I was thinking when I saw the new Navitimer and Bentley models that I should get one too. I was approached by a fellow member and I already said that he could get mine for XXX$. You know how it is... hardcore rep-a-holics always jump to the bandwagon and start desiring after the newest model. Then I put it on my wrist and thought: "No way I'm gonna trade this... what the hell I was thinking?" Subdials look shiny on the oversized pictures, too big date font... so what, who gives a shit! The "feel" of this watch just screams quality and the 12-9-6 version is running like a champ after 14+ months. It's always an easy Swiss ETA movement swap with this particular arrangement... and besides: I already have a "bond" with this watch. So it'll stay.
-
Looks cool! But even cooler if you put your shoes on.
-
The reliability is great. Runs like a champ, keeps time within COSC standards. And about the review... you're 5 days late. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=9437 Edit: Oh well, Alex was faster.
-
Thanks CC. And what's to be ashamed of wearing a Seiko? They're great watches... I've owned many.
-
And remember to wind it fully (or almost fully) to get a decent power reserve. I remember when I received my Venus-powered watch I stopped winding as soon as I felt a bit more resistance, got lousy power reserve and though the watch was bad. I did a compete review of a Venus-powered Speedmaster. The white "Broad Arrow" version is exactly the same as yours (technically). Read the review HERE. There's also a link to Ziggy's Venus movement breakdown. Edit: @CC: According to Z-man you can't overwind a Venus movement. He says you can wind it fully. But I'm always hesitant to do it too...I wind it just a bit shy of full wind.

I've had this on since I got it. Hey, a different kind of wrist shot!

Weight Of A Genuine Gmt Master Ii And Of A Rep?
By-Tor replied to watchfreak2005's topic in The Rolex Area
Both are featherweight watches. Genuine: 127 grams with all bracelet links intact. Rep: Exact... +/- 2 grams with hollow link bracelet. With solid link bracelet the rep is heavier (about 7-10 grams). Here's a genuine Rolex weight & diameter chart (with bracelet and ALL links attached): -
Review of Omega Planet Ocean 4th Generation
By-Tor replied to By-Tor's topic in By-Tor's Watch Reviews
Updated the review with a lume shot. Just wanted to share these two lume pics I took. Straight out of the camera. Best lume on any unmodified replica watch I've seen. The watch spent 20-30 seconds under a lamp before taking the pics though. -
Looks Like A Bunch Of New Stuff Is Out For Aug...
By-Tor replied to ubiquitous's topic in General Discussion
Good to see the Chrono-Matic... but it would have been even nicer to finally see the Chronomat. I can't believe they haven't done that much more popular model yet... one of the great mysteries. By the way... am I the only one who doesn't like the completely useless 24h subdial (in Venus and quartz-chronos)? I wish they would just always freeze that idiotic subdial which only makes the appearance crooked. Nice looking watches though. I bet they're both quartz. -
Yes, this is excellent rep. Beautiful pics. And I agree with you: most people consider it too small. Same thing with DateJust and other small watches these days. They're out of style right now... but I'm sure Connie would look fantastic on a smaller person with smaller wrist size. But these trends come and go... it might look fashionable again in 5-10 years from now. Thanks again for the repost.

Wow! Excellent pictorial. I've been in Paris twice... but it's been over 10 years. Great town indeed!

What did I say...? I knew you'd like it.
