  1. There's a difference between patina and "beat up". My watch is about 70 years old and it doesn't look beat up... aged, yes.
  2. Never mind TTK, he doesn't bite. Every newbie gets flamed by Neil... at least once. It's an old RWG ritual. Carry on... PS: And besides... he's right. The old phrase says "if it ain't broken don't fix it". It applies especially well to reps.
  3. Yep, yep... I edited my post already. Didn't realize you were talking FULL GOLD models. Those vintage gold/TT Subs are quite nice. I like the hour markers.
  4. Ubi... you've been drinking, eh? You mean "historically 18k models have had HOLLOW mid links. Edit: Uhh...ah..you mean FULL gold (not TT) models. My bad.
  5. Glad you have enjoyed my review Alex. That quote is only accurate when we're talking stainless steel bands. Yes, the new DateJusts (starting from last year) have solid gold middle links (on the Jubilee versions) which, of course, increase the weight. Gold is much heavier material... and obviously solid gold / two-tone bracelets can't be compared to their stainless/gold plated counterparts. However, genuine 18K TT Oyster bands still use hollow links. They're surprisingly light (just like the old TT Jubilees), but of course they have slightly better feel than the plated rep incarnations. I suspect Daytona is the only TT model that uses solid gold middle links on the Oyster band but I'm not 100% sure. I know TT YachtMaster middle links are still hollow. Here's the good old TimeZone Rolex weight chart (for SS versions). I wish there were similar chart for the gold models:
  6. Darn that pesky hamster! http://forum.419eater.com/john_boko.htm
  7. Beauty? Hmm... I think it's "handsome" rather than beautiful. Just like the orange Doxa.
  8. Great looking Exp there! Almost makes me want to buy another Rolex. Well... photoshooted this old baby today.
  9. Hey Sam: I have some returnable milk bottles laying around... easily worth $3 or $4. I'll send them over if you pay the postage. EL CHEAPO!
  10. This sounds reasonable. Why can't we make a blacklist of idiots who constantly cause trouble? It's not just the dealers who suffer from this, but also potentially the forum members who trade watches. Remember that imbecile who wrote "Replica Panerai" on the return shipment back to EL? You can be a clueless newbie... and make newbie mistakes, but being a braindead, lobotomized fucktard is a different thing. I'm all for a public blacklist... just do it!!!
  11. The case looks genuine without a doubt. Man those TZ folks are complete JERKOFFS..."Molex"....puh-leeze!!! Thanks for reminding me why I never read that forum. Maybe a redial, maybe not. This is what somebody posted (similar dial from a very reputable seller):
  12. Check the IP match and ban that idiot from all replica forums... rather sooner than later. What an ass!

    Wow :d

You think that's ugly? Maybe so, but when you put it in the same rink with the Champ it's all relative.
  14. Precisely. Well at least in my rep Omega box the text is in gold color.
  15. How come I have a feeling that I read this same thread year ago? There was no decent modern SeaDweller replica year ago... and there isn't now. So don't stress about it.
  16. Go to the Omega Area. There should be plenty of reviews and information of this model over there. It has some minor flaws (minor to non-rep experts, that is), but for the price it's excellent replica.
  17. There are plenty of old Navitimers without date... and with Lemania hand wind movement. I mean, who can keep up with the couple of hundred different Navitimers? Sure it would be a hybrid, but not necessarily a bad option at all. Check this Navitimer resource. TONS of different variations, even more than Speedmasters. http://www.lesmala.net/jean-michel/navitimer/index2.htm
  18. Switched to Breitling for today:
  19. I wouldn't worry about that. The clasp is plated on the genuine as well. The colors and gold tone seem to match surprisingly well, considering the rep has 14K plating (instead of richer 18K tone). I once had a rep of this same watch and wrote a guide for the TT Subs. There seems to be lots of variation in the quality (and durability) of the gold plating, so I always recommend a real gold bracelet upgrade. Good work. PS: You might want to drill lugholes to your watch. It'd make it extremely accurate. Non-SEL versions always had lugholes.
  20. Wow, that's a great upgrade and it sure takes the rep to another level. You might want to tell other members where you sourced the bracelet.
  21. Cool. Like I said I really am jealous. That's one of the best looking chronographs I know. Post tons of pictures here in the TAG area when it arrives. And congrats again!!!
  22. Very nice indeed. Is this one of the new models where the last link (SEL) is solid?
  23. You bought a gen? Congratulations!!! I'm jealous. Did you go for the blue one? I've been searching for the preowned ones at Ebay today. Most deals can be found at US...I'm glad I'm in EU and always have the possible customs issue. Makes impulse buys much more difficult.
