Finally! New Planet Ocean Ceramic Coming!
the_rymeister replied to cougar1's topic in The Omega Area
These really do look good, just a shame about the date window on the 42mm which has already been mentioned but overall they look amazing. Do we know if they are making the rubber straps for these? Thanks for all the updates and pics -

Can't decide between a Rep or used Omega... HELP!
the_rymeister replied to TimeToPretend's topic in The Omega Area
Agree with both routes here buddy......get a decent rep for $2-300 and see if you like it. If you do you can list in for sale section and get most of your cash back then buy gen or if you know you like the planet ocean for example save your cash and buy the gen. I had a Swiss eta and ended up liking so much I fitted lots of gen parts then liked it even more and ended up selling it and buying a 2011 gen which I absolutely love and think will always be in my collection hope this helps bud -
From the pics it looks like a poorly printed bezel insert buddy. I'd you don't want the expense of fitting a genuine insert have a look on EBay as there are some decent aftermarket inserts on the for a small amount of money

PO 42mm Sunnydale's AR crystal installed
the_rymeister replied to jackflash's topic in The Omega Area
These look great I had one fitted on my old franken upo, was one of the best mods imho you can do on these reps. @rolexman.. The blue tint is true to old versions of the planet oceans or like 2006-2008 roughly and the newer serious on planet ocean are using colourless ar'd crystals. all in all sunny crystals are really nice -

Sunny xtals installed - beginning of two PO projects
the_rymeister replied to z3k0's topic in The Omega Area
Nice work buddy they both look great, I think you could get away with just adding gen hour and min hands to the 5th gen as you can see the seconds hand is a good match with the lume. Look forward to the updates. Nice pictures too -

Omega SMP 300M Chrono -vs- Non-Chrono?
the_rymeister replied to vandal.tbh's topic in The Omega Area
Exactly what vandal said buddy, I normally soak it overnight in chain lube then work it into all the links until it loosens up then I get some scoth bright wool and smooth of any sharp edges then go over lightly with some metal polish to shine up. Works a treat and makes a huge improvement to the straps -

Nice work gmt lover, those keyless works are so sensitive on the eta movements, I've had to sort quite a few of mine out when I take my reps apart,I always seem to mess them up installing the stems I've got most spare keyless parts if you need anything
