You know it is sad to say but with as spineless as this country has become a "Red Dawn" scenario is not that far fetched. All they need to do is strap 1 or 2 innocent people to the top of each of their tanks and APC's and they could probably get to the White House lawn without being shot at or blown up. Once they got to the White House lawn our govt. would still need to check out the popular opinion polls before making the choice between handing the country over or killing a few innocent people. Makes you wonder what our Founding Fathers would do to tighten up border security, or what they would think about the hard working members of society having to work even harder to support the ones who do not want to work.

New Movement: Compact Subdial Spaced 7750?
jdkno replied to Mickey Padge's topic in General Discussion
That is about the sexiest watch I have ever seen... -
So for lets say watches Davidsen sells that are listed as 3ATM, they should be good to go for showering and general swimming??
-
Yes pics. A wrist shot would be great. How does the FF wear? I know its 41mm but sometimes watches wear bigger/smaller than their size.
-
Yeah its a quartz. If you look at http://puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=945 you can see the battery in it. I really like the look, and even like the vintage versions Davidsen is selling but the dial looks so small on the vintage I was hoping for a good rep of the modern FF's.

Is there any way of making SS look like Titanium?? I have been wanting a Chrono Avenger for some time, the bezel is the one flaw I can not get past. I was wondering if there was a way of using the SS bezel from the SS Chrono Avenger and making it look enough like Ti to pass muster.
-
very nice strap indeed however I did not want croc, just plain leather.
-
I already have the SS band and the gen rubber. I was considering picking up a leather strap for it. I was checking to see what BOB had and see a Caramel and Tan in 22mm. ANyone have any pics of a white dial SOSF with a Caramel/Tan/Honey/ect. leather strap on it to give me an idea of the final result before I buy. Thanks.

Anyone know a good bit about Pro Audio / DJ Equipment?
jdkno replied to jdkno's topic in The looney bin
You have got to be kidding me on the legal end of playing music... Here we can play anything we want. iPods, burned CD's, Laptops, you name it. In all honesty I don't even own any CD's anymore. My iPod has taken over that role. I have it in the car controlled through the indash TV, I have a dock at home hooked up to the stereo, I have a Bose Sound dock at the office, and a cheaper Sony ZS iPod boombox in the garage. -

Mixer board huh. I will have to look into that. I think crossovers of some kind will be a must either inline passive or rack mounted active. If I send an unfiltered signal to everything none of it with the exception to maybe the subs will last too long. ETA: I wonder how this would work out??? http://www.technicalhifi.com/prods.php?prod=Z-Pod2000 -
B&R Blue Super Luminova application, close ups, in the daylight
jdkno replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
I found these images of a gen PVD, it appears that all of the lume is green?? Unless this is just like the pics of the Deep Sea, just like you photoed Lani where it looks green until the blue started to show. -

No not in a house or a club, well maybe used in a house from time to time. Here is what I am looking for might give you a better idea as to where I am going. I ride on a Mardi Gras float every year, which just so happened to be the day before yesterday. We had a stereo system on the float pumping out music all day long but between the noise and everything else going on it was not loud enough, basicly they were running 100x2 out of a stereo and it was not cutting it. I am looking to replace what we have now with something louder, and since it will be stored all year long and only used once a year I do not want to get into spending a ton of money on it. However I had thought about if I can make it nice enough I could always hook it up in my game room to run with my X box and make for some fun first person shooter games. I was thinking of somethng like this 2 speaker boxes, each housing 1 - 12" sub, 4 - 6" mids, and 2 - horn tweeters 1 250x2 amp running the subs only 1 250x2 amp running the mids and highs I was thinking the best way to do it would be off of an iPod. I can load up 6-8 hours of music, hit shuffle and leave it alone. I figure I will need a pre-amp to take the signal from the iPod that will have a master volume, bass and treble controls. From the pre-amp I will need it to go to the amp(s) and from there to the speakers. I have a pretty good backround in car audio but running a system on 12v is a no go. Also weight. I already have to haul a couple of hundred pounds of beads, ice chests, ect..ect.. up there I really don't want to have to haul up another couple hundred pounds of gear as well. I was thinking I could build the speaker cabinets out of fiberglass to save weight. I have a year to get all of this together but I want to start now to give me time. I have been looking at the Behringer A500 Amps figuring 2 of those should push what I need. Do they make rack mount crossovers or will I have to build/buy inline passive units? Do they make a cheap pre-amp that does nothing but take the signal and offer base/treble/volume controls? -
As the title states I am looking for someone who knows a good little bit about Pro Audio / DJ Equipment. Not so much the mixing and mic stuff, mostly speakers, amps, and equipment to play music.

That B&R is fantastic, I wonder if a gen B&R looks that good. I was on the fence about getting one and Rob I think you just shoved me off the fence and convinced me to buy one. Does the PVD version of the gen also have the Blue lume or is it only the SS version?? I am really liking the PVD, but REALLY liking the blue lume. -
Yeah the 89 is what got me into wanting a Ti pam, and I have always like GMT watches. I wish I could get all 3 but I like variety in my collection and to me 3 Ti pams are just too many of the same thing in a way. I guess I just need to keep looking at all 3 and hope one attracts me more than the others.

Well I have decided to get a Panerai, I know what took me so long right? So I have been searching and comparing and I am down to 3 finalist. I was hoping some of you with more insite to the flaws could help me out. My selection is down to the following, all of them are Ti which is what I want. DSN 165 - I like the polished SS accents http://www.rwg.cc/members/Titanium-Pam-165-t88640.html DSN 086 - I like the Anthricite(sp) dial, and the contrasting seconds subdial http://www.rwg.cc/members/Pam-Titanium-086-t85240.html DSN 089 - Again I like the Anthricite dail, I really like the GMT function, however I do understand the added GMT function could cause problems. http://www.rwg.cc/members/089-Gmt-t71854.html So what is the general concensus as to which of the above is the most accurate out of the box??
-
You lost me on the 22 and 24 straps?? I thought it had 24mm lugs?
-
Trying to figure out if anyone has purchased one of davidsen's latest and greatest 089's http://www.rwg.cc/members/089-Gmt-t71854.html I can't tell from his pics if the dial color is blue or athricite(sp) If anyone has one and can comment on the correctness of the color or post better pics that would be great.
-
I would go for a half windsor with a dimple, happens to be the exact knot used in that pic of 47. It looks alot cleaner than your normal knot and with the dimple it acctually helps keep it squared away so you don't have to fool with it every now and then.

the Supreme Reign of the White Anglo Protestant is over in the US
jdkno replied to fotoman's topic in The looney bin
Well in part he was, As I see it there are 4 distinct pieces to the puzzle of his election. Part A: A voter base that thought he was going to tap Bill Gates' bank account and send them a check Part B: ALOT of people believe anything that comes out of a famous entertainers mouth Part C: The heard mentality, you usually find this in the young crowd(18-25) these days. They need so badly to be a part of something bigger than themselves that they will latch on to anything that makes them feel like part of the crowd. Most of them do not believe in their cause or do not know enough about it to make an informed decision but to feel like part of the crowd they will give it all they have. Part D: The liberal media was able to sway the vots of those who preach politics from the one sided info they get from CNN. Notice no where in the equation was his acctual ability, accomplishments, or proof there of that he is capable of the power we have given him. -

If the rest of our country were raised this way this country would be a much better place to live. In this day and age it is not racism so to speak it is reverse racism where the ones keeping it alive, provocating it, and adding to it are the very ones who are supposedly being discriminated against. I am from New Orleans my parents taught me to judge a person on their character vs. skin color, looks, wealth, ect. While Obama may be the POTUS anyone who can honestly say he won this election based on his character and or accomplishments is an outright liar. The American people have become a society where the media and celebrities influence their thoughts and opinions more than their own common sense. All I can pray for is that Barry steps up his game; there is no voting "Present" in the Oval Office. -
Just a quick question and probably a dumb one at that. The quartz movement, I take it the second hand tics rather than sweeps right???

Dewitts - not popular on the board, but should they be?
jdkno replied to fotoman's topic in General Discussion
I love the Academia from back when the available reps looked like they were from canal st. The problem is being able to pull one off. While most have no clue what a DeWitt is and most would probably think it is a bargin bin watch(the name is not widely known) if you were to run into someone who knew the brand would they believe you were wearing a $30k watch? -
I was looking for some input from those who own a 22mm Diver Pro rep strap, not the Ocean Racer. I have a gen 22mm Diver pro and it takes a 1.8mm springbar tightly, also it fits between the lugs nice and snug. Between the springbars and the tight fit between the lugs you can hold the watch by the watch head and the straps will stay extended. Onto the rep 22mm strap I have. the 1.8mm springbars I have are a very loose fit into the hole, I am guessing to get a snug fit I would need something in the 2.2 - 2.5mm range. Also the strap does not fit tight between the lugs, probably a little less than 1mm gap if I push the strap to one side leaving the entire gap on the other. If I hold the watch by the head the rep straps just flop around freely. So is the rep strap I got the norm or was it just like anything in the rep world where some will not be as good as others? Anyone acctually have a 22mm rep strap that does not have the huge hole for the springbars and fits nice and snug to the case?
-
I understand what you are getting at. I am with you the reps only come one way sometimes two. WHy not buy it with the cheaper movement and buy a Swiss yourself and have it put in, in the end that is the only way to be sure you are getting a 100% swiss movement. On the other hand I do agree with some on the board as far as Copy movements being advertised and sold as ETA. I think it is wrong to charge someone extra for an ETA if all you are giving them is a Asian copy. For me I just buy what I can if I like the watch, if the movement dies I will deal with it then.
