  1. MONDAY & TUESDAY PAM111 on Toscana Fiero
  2. Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVbAuMr5eac (sorry to go off-topic, but I couldn't resist..)
  3. No, they repped it from several pics from internet hence all the terrible flaws in the past. The percentage in costs between gens-reps is still about the same since most brands have also raised the price of the gens. It's called inflation and a weak dollar... As Freddy and Kruzer already said, reps have never been better and more accurate than today.
  4. Never mind, that's what we have cellphones for
  5. Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride! You might wanna look at this http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=76333&hl= If you go for accuracy I would stay away from any sandwich (=H-series) PAM. Still the most accurate would be a PAM001B with closed caseback and 'filled indices' dial. Have it relumed, remove the AR and you're as close as you can be on a PAM rep.
  6. Great story and awesome collection! So I guess you'll be left with the only rep?
  7. Also don't forget that not every new release is a succes, which also will be reflected in the prices of all new reps. And I doubt it that the re-assembled gens can be sold without a substantial loss...
  8. Great tutorial, Taka! But I think this is only for the more experienced among us For extra clarification: - when swapping a low beat 21.6k A7750 with a Swiss7750 all hands will fit perfectly. - when swapping a high beat 28.8k A7750 with a Swiss7750 the chrono seconds hand will be too tight and need extra care (as above) - also the subdial hands are too loose and need some glue to fit in.
  9. Welcome aboard!
  10. Welcome to our little family!
  11. Enjoy the ride
  12. Welcome aboard and enjoy your stay!
  13. I think it's a catch 22 situation. On the one hand we all want 'superreps' that are cosmetically 99,99% accurate. On the other hand we don't wanna spend more money, which is needed to invest in a gen to make the rep 99,99% accurate... And in the case of the new AP the factory even had to invest in developing a 7750 secs @12 movement. It's simple economics.... Do we really wanna go back to reps with standard movements copied from pictures??
  14. Good to see this old thread back again
