  1. Too bad this didn't work. Good luck with cleaning up and reassembling the autowinding module!
  2. Indeed there's a certain irony in it: we need traffic to stay viable, but due to the increased traffic the bills can't be paid..... What we do need is increasing traffic that pays the bills.
  3. Surely we need traffic to stay viable, but the bills need to be paid too. By making some quality information like the knowledge base/wiki section/photography section and the sales & Iwanttobuy forum restricted to Supporters-only there is a real motivation to upgrade.
  4. What dates would be good for you?
  5. PM sent in Dutch. A few weeks ago The Zigmeister instructed me in a thread about the current flaws of the A7750 for the same problem. I had mine fixed by simply tightening the little spring that blocks the reversing wheel through the hole of the auto winder bridge. If that doesn't work you have to disassemble the whole autowinding module and you should really know what you're doing to put everything back...
  6. I hope you have enough room in your house to invite us all What about July 12, 19 or 26?
  7. I had some correspondence with him last Saturday, but I think he's burried in mails....
  8. I guess some Rolli-fans are going to faint here,
  9. Congrats my friend! Looking forward seeing you soon again and have a drink on it
  10. WEDNESDAY Tag Heuer Link Chrono @V:
  11. Hmmm, now I have to find another reason to PM you...... Uhm, who has the best Avatar?
  12. Great idea, welcome to the club!
  13. So this is what you consider a daily beater?
  14. I can only say
  15. I'm glad to see a new member already contributing to the forum and see the benefits. Thnx! I hope this will inspire other people as well....
  16. I think the quality of this board lays in the indepth watch reviews, the technical discussions, the dealer QC feedback and the community feel (id. GTGs, wristies, raffles, donations to help a brother out in bad times), but I have the feeling that 90% of the essential posts are made by paying members. So I wouldn't mind that as a consequence non-participating members will leave to other boards (I prefer them to join off course). I also think that marketingwise it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a more exclusive (i.d. pay to play) quality board to differentiate from the other boards. But maybe I'm taking this one step too far for now.... Anyway, I'll prefer quality over quantity (as I do with my rep collection, lol) and I would be happy to pay for that. There have already been mentioned some very good ideas. So what about: - access to member sales threads (reading & posting) for paying members only - access to knowledge base & review section for paying members only - access to collectors and collector feedback for everybody - general discussion for everybody - brand forums for everybody - limited pic size, no avatar and no signature for non paying members - if the software allows, a chatfunction for paying members only. Shoutbox for everybody - non paying members can only PM other non paying members - non paying member 'post of the month' gets free upgrade for 1 year. In this way non paying members can find some general information on reps, where to buy them and experience some community feel. If they like this place they can upgrade and get access to the indepth quality part of the board. This will sort the weath from the chaff.
  17. But soon he won't be European anymore
  18. Unfortunately not that I know off
  19. More non-paying new members = more bandwidth = higher costs & greater risk. The moment the bills can't be paid anymore is the moment this forum will implode by its own succes. Something to think about..... @youp: you bring up some interesting points. I would change #2 for non-paying members.
  20. That's not a bad idea at all!
  21. Exactly! I still can't figure out why 4% of the people have to pay for the other 96% of the members. I wouldn't mind to have a pay only membership. And if the consequence is that we'll have 1000 active and donating members instead of 12000, so be it.....At least we'll save a lot of bandwidth.
