  1. I really hope so. For the moment I will give him the benefit of the doubt, but let
  2. Look at what happened with the SMP. The first batch even had the correct HE-valve and really raised wave patterns. The later batches have flat waves, wrong HE-valve and even lost the 3 hour marker.... The TAG Link chrono these days gets delivered with low beat 7750. I happen to know this because I'm desperately looking for hands that fit the highbeat and I can only get hands for low beat.... Last week I received a new dial for the 3717. Not only the markers were crooked or fallen off, the white text IWC Schaffhausen was changed into grey.
  3. To be honest Angus is not the greatest in QC. But he's by far one of the best in after sales. My best QC'ed watches came from Precious Time (PT). The only reason I also buy from Angus is that PT offers a smaller range of products and is more expensive. Another thing: I also believe that when a new rep model is released, the factories produce only a couple of quality batches. As soon as the model is mainstream they start maximizing profit by cutting corners and compromising quality. So the first buyers (mostly the ones who post how fantastic the new model is) get the best products. The later buyers get their watch from bad quality and returned items stock............
  4. Don't want to sound too cynical - in the real world I'm a very optimistic guy - but a special forum will only show what we already know: all collectors have issues somewhere in time. At one time it's collector A, the other time it's collector B. So banning collectors based on their poor QC will only result in a forum without collectors at all. No matter how good the intentions of the collector, he always have to work with what the factory delivers and they seem to have all the power.... So in the end it's the after sales what makes the difference.
  5. I guess we now know who the collector is from your past experience....
  6. That's why I'm very curious to Eurotimez. To me seeing is believing and I'm also wondering if his presumed QC will last in a couple of years, but as soon as he has a watch that I like I'll give it a try.
  7. Would love to see another pic of your Pannie box when the 188 is finished
  8. This one is for you, Yellowmen
  9. Unfortunately I have to agree with rek001. In the past there have been a couple of Don Quichotes who tried to fight the collector windmills. In the end nothing changes, since the amount of people who keep on buying reps with quality issues outnumber the group of demanding buyers. It's simply something we have to live with. As a result I've learned to do small repairs and mods to my watches, so I can fix the flawed first shipment with the replacement parts of the 2nd shipment or maybe 3rd shipment. The end result is still a nice rep for a small percentage of the gen. Takes some patience and learning, but in the end it's worth it.
  10. SATURDAY & SUNDAY Changed to PAM111e on Toscana Fiero @lani : great pics man. In your previous posts I didn't noticed the oxidation on the Ti, but now I see what you did. Is this look more true to the gen than the standard rep Ti-case?
  11. I want a modded Pannie box too! That's a fine and versatile collection you got. But no chrono...?
  12. @panera: I hate you!!
  13. O no, another crystal fallen out of a watch .
  14. FRIDAY PAM089 @ Dluddy: I guess I'll join you today @ Raymond: good to have you back! @ Stephane: I hope to see this beauty in the flesh very soon
  15. I've never seen this on a rep so far. No matter how perfect the decoration on a rep movement, the missing little V-shaped hole at the end of the incablock usually gives it away. But perhaps this is the next step in rep movements, which would be great news! @Spy: note that this style of bridges and decoration is incorrect for an H-series PAM111.
  16. DSN has just released a new GMT handsset (bigger minute hand, shorter arrow on GMT) with SL for his PAM088/089 models. On the pics it looks very convincing: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=71635
  17. Only the low beat A7750 is a 1:1 swap with a Swiss 7750. All (hands) sizes are the same. There are a lot of selfhelp guides for this if you use the search function..
  18. Looks gen to me. No droopy 'A's, correct shape of incabloc, nice fat crown.
  19. After replacing a faulty double corrector on a 7750-GMT movement, the quicksetting for date and GMT sometimes work and sometimes the double corrector doesn't seem to engage with either the DW or the GMT gear. It's like the spring isn't properly connected to the double corrector to put it back in place. I also suspect the double corrector to work a bit different than on a standard 7750, so I have no reference on how to install it properly. Does anyone have a picture showing how to install the double corrector and connect it with the spring attached on the date plate? In what order do I install the date plate, DW, GMT gear and double corrector?
