  1. Looks great! The only issue still left is that the 3, 6, 9 and 12 markers are a tad thicker than on the gen. And obviously you need to install a crystal in it
  2. All these Breitlings....... Let IWC take 'em over!!
  3. Just curious if the subdials are as deep as on this pic. Since the new Portuguese Automatic has too many flaws my hope for the perfect dress watch lies in your hands .
  4. Well, my friend knows a guy who knows a replica website that sells them. But it's on invitation only. If you like I can ask my friend...
  5. At least for $ 1.000,- you can have several reps instead of 1 Grade A++++ Best Ultimate Perfect Swiss Submariner with 21j movement
  6. This is one of my favorite modern dress watches: hxxp://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=341 Can't stand the ugly silver subdials and the recessed date. Other than that I could have lived with the other minor flaws, which are only obvious in a 1:1 comparison. So much for the perfect IWC dress watch
  7. Woeha!!!!! I'm celebrating my 1001st post here Just wanted to thank you guys for having me around and providing me with such a wealth of information! This forum has not only taught me about the best reps and how to protect my wallet, but also developed my taste in watches ('Yuk, what's that ugly watch?' -'That's a PAM.' -'Wow, what an awesome watch !!' ) and increased my passion for watches and watch technique in general (just started TZ Watchmakers Course). I started out buying about every rep I could get my hands on without having any knowledge about the gen and/or the flaws on the rep. As my knowledge grew I narrowed down my collection to some well chosen pieces. These are the ones that will stay with me for a long time and all of these will be fully modded and serviced in the near future. When I started here I didn't know what to expect. I even account for the fact that this site was a setup to lead people to 'trustful' scamsites. What a surprise when I found out that our community was for real! And I couln't have started this year better than meeting some of our wonderful people in real life at the Brussels GTG. Each time I log in, I hope to discover new super reps, I drool over Ubi's Twins, Freddy's vintage Daytonas, Vic's straps and Rolli's awesome PAM collection and I absorb each of The Zigmeister's movement breakdowns and technical advices. Last but not least I would like to thank the Admin-team. Without your efforts and passion this forum would simply not exist. Therefore I urge every non-paying member to upgrade to Supporter status as soon as you find out how valuable this forum is. Thank you guys!!!
  8. You don't have to like it, at least do it for us, .
  9. For the money it's quiet nice, but it has a lot of small flaws. Wrong date font and it looks recessed. On the black version the DW should be black. On the white dial versions the silver subdials are wrong and should be in the same color as the dial. Also spacing is a bit off. The shape of the 2, 4 and 7 are off.
  10. Very nice watch, Lani! Difficult to see on the pics, but is the subdial really recessed or did they just use a different dial part to simulate this effect?
  11. @Francisco: did you loosen the sping tension before you took off the balance? If so, do you have a pic that shows the position of the release button/lever?
  12. Great tutorial! I've done this a couple of times myself and it's fun to see that I had to make the same decisions as you had.
  13. Awesome! This is what Panerai is about. Wear it well!
  14. Monsieur Stephane, that's a real beauty! Congrats
  15. I would go for the IWC. I just had mine modded with double AR and ETA wheels and it looks so..... REAL, A bit more expensive, but the 3717 looks awesome on a BP strap. I think Kurt (TWB) is currently working on his own. edit to add Looks great on a suit too!
  16. FRIDAY IWC 3717 on gen Big Pilot strap (new pic with ETA DW & double AR from K222)
  17. People, make sure you can hold your liquor with Andy around Andy, take care! And I hope you'll meet some wonderful members in Alberta. Looking forward to that Mallorca winter GTG we talked about...
  18. This is mine with double AR from K222: The rep has some grain in the dial. However, when I had a gen on my wrist at the AD I can't remember that it had the same grain as the pic you posted. Hmmm, maybe I need to check it out again or maybe there are slight differences in gens - like some people have reported to have seen both brass and silver pinions..... And as a reference here's a nice gen pic. @Panera: thanks for the comparison pics!
  19. Imagine the Frogmariner, the Smurfmariner and the Gaytona in one special collector's box.... WOW!!!,
  20. It's quite ironic that most of our Rolex fans don't like the new versions, while I as a non-Rolex fan (I do love the Vintage Daytona and the old YM, though) really love the new SD. The only thing that kind of disturbs me are the text engravings on the rehaut. I guess what attracts me and disturbs others is the bigger size and the more bulky look. Most Rolex models look a bit too small to my taste. But hey, I'm a PAM fan, .
  21. WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY IWC 3717 on pilot strap (old picture... Just got it back with K2222 double AR, ETA wheels and gen BP strap)
