Laughable list. A Navitimer? Come on... I like the watch but one of the 10 best ever made?! How about Breguet, IWC, JLC, Vacheron, Blancpain. How about Zenith ElPrimero, the Breitling/Heuer caliber 11's. How about Seiko 6139? Where is the Reverso or Richar Mille Turbillon? Where Perrelet fits in this grand list? Or is it so insignificant? For Archie inventing the self-winding mechanism is much less important then a watch "a lot of pilots wear". Makes sense. 10 Greatest watches of all times? Give me a [censored] break. 10 Greatest watches Archie has heard about from his snob buddies over a cheap cigar last Saturday afternoon, while checking local newspaper watch ads list. (it is a great list of the best reps under 300$, though. )

Absolutely. Too expensive imho.

Want to build Franken UPO need help from experts
Adeodatus replied to Omegamma's topic in The Omega Area
We just had an interesting discussion on the whole UPO frankens issue, courtesy to bamcky: http://www.rwg.cc/topic/143579-franken-45sa-short-comparative-review-of-the-pros-and-cons-of-franken-planet-oceans/ To answer your question - yes the 42 PO takes gen parts with fairly small amount of modifications. Read this, for example: http://www.rwg.cc/topic/142430-my-planet-ocean-45mm-damaged-to-franken-the-story-so-far/ -
This is why I focking love this place

the tells: the pearl, the happy feet logo (it has to be happy feet on quartz seamaster), lume dots, the case back "waves" and the movement of course. all 100% gen. Enjoy the watch. Can I be impudent and ask what price did you get it at?
-
Apropos, the 45 sure looks nice on the wrist and has that much more "face" to it, but for me the 42 is more correct (the smaller size helps alot). The 42 is more like: "I am a watch!" and the 45 is more like: "What dafock are you looking at? You should look at me! me me me me me!" Anyway I like them both
-
Definitely. I'm a bit on the fence on the whole lume issue (with all reps). On one hand, you're absolutely right, Cougar, the lume is not even remotely close to it's gen counterpart. It's not even in the same universe. On the other hand, I don't mind the lume on gens either. I rarely find myself looking at the watch in complete darkness and, working indoors, I rarely see other's watches glow. Personally I don't consider a poor lume a huge tell, and I've seen a great number of gen high-end watches with "tired" luminescence . In short, for me a great lume is definitely nice to have, but would I spend that much on it? I'm not sure. 9 out of ten times I'd say no.

A very nice gen.

^^^ Post of the Month. ^^^ ROFL
-
Really?! That's new. I'd think he would say: "Fock you round eyes...I send you watch anyway" ROFL j/k @nwolf1716: Enjoy the watch, man. If it's perfect to you - it's perfect. Have to agree with chou here. Out of sheer interest - did Josh say it's a new watch or that he sends a better images of the same one?
-
Yeah, yeah, I saw the screw, I was joking...
-
^^^LOL - looks great to me... Is there something wrong with the strap leather? Seriously though, I secretly feel that the dealers need to be reminded from time to time that we are the reason they have a business at all. We are not an annoying side effect of it, we are it. Without these fora they'd make a better living in running a so called "hair salon" on Beilin street in Xian. Anyway, having said that I have no doubt in my mind that Joshua will settle this issue. He isn't one of best 2-3 dealers in the reps universe for nothing.
-
Couldn't agree with you more, Cougar. That "you can't see it from the pics" just pisses me off. The dealers should get their act together on the whole QC issue. Either show good images or don't show them at all. Showing good images helps them sell faster, end of story. The op's watch may as well be a great one (it isn't, but let's assume that for the sake of the argument), but by sending bad images Josh could as well [censored] up the deal. No one is happy in this situation - the buyer is [censored] and tends not to trust the dealer and the dealer fails to make a deal. QC pics are good for their business, good QC pics are great for their business, they need to understand that. The above image is exactly what I expect to get as QC image. Not these odd "artistic" imagery. And for the love of god - get a decent camera! end_rant();
-
Actually it's not that hard. Good watch is good, this one is not so good. end of story. Usually Josh gets some pretty nice watches (and QC pics). He will get you a new one and he will pay attention this time. Simple as that. Josh is my regular dealer, he has some hiccups here and there, but only due to the vast volumes he moves. On the other hand his customer service is top notch, so I'd bet my own PO on you getting the right watch next time around. Good luck, man
-
Ummm... ahhh... speechless...
-
I know for a fact Joshua has some great looking POs. Just ask for another one.
-
No go.The bezel and the pearl are way off on this one. I'm pretty sure they have better ones in stock (is it Josh's?)
-
really like this one (and the Lange as well). great watches!

Laphroig is actually my poison. Couldn't find a finer whiskey yet. Ardbeg is great too, but it's as harsh as Islay. A real flu drug. i think people should get prescriptions to buy it
-
Islay singles FTW. Love the Plzen though. Was on a "sports" trip (the official "let's get drunk and away from the wives" annual family event) to Prague with my dad a few years ago. 9am fresh local Pilsner is hard to beat.
